Thank you very much for this Trip Report!🙂💛👍
I’ve worked as a flight attendant one of Condor’s 757-300’s when it was leased to Transavia one summer, around 2002. I think it was D-ABOH. Had to con my way into joining the select few to get qualified and actually work it. As noted, the cabin is endless. Walking from one galley to the other and back to fetch something was a 100 meter walk, so it was great exercise. One unique feature that stood out was the camera in the forward galley, to be used by the lead flight attendant to broadcast themself over all video monitors in the cabin. Awesome stuff.
Nice! I've flown one of Arkia's former 757-300s a decade ago between Tel Aviv and Eilat's old airport. Their two 753s were later retired from the fleet and purchased by Icelandair, who still operate them as far as I know. 4X-BAW, the 753 I flew on, debuted wearing the special Icelandair livery. I have otherwise flown on the 752 slightly more often.
Great video, I love trips like this. Up bright and early, pop down to Majorca and back, just in time for lunch! Glad you got the 757-300. Now for the -200, we have a tonne down here in the US ;)
I'm lucky to have flown on a Condor 757-300 from Düsseldorf to Menorca (and back) around 15 years ago! On that flight I also bought a small model of the special livery 753 - and I still have that model. Amazing to see you try it, and even being on the special livery plane itself (which I never saw IRL unfortunately)
Fantastic aeroplane. Very lucky to have operated the 757-200 & 300 along with the 767-300 for Thomas Cook Airlines for many years prior to their demise. Very fond memories.

I worked the 'standard' 757 and the -300. We were the only airline in the UK that had them. JMC became Thomas Cook, and I think eventually, Condor had some of our aircraft as there was some kind of affiliation between the two. Flying the standard pencil was long enough, but on the 300, you walked for miles every day! A skipper said to us on our first flight on it, if you had crew seats at doors 2 on take off and landing just look how much the back galley wobbles around. Same in flight, if it was lumpy, stand in either galley and watch the far end just bounce around! Quite a sight to behold. I have to say though, the 757s were amazing machines to work on and the thrill of hearing those RR RB211s powering us skyward like a homesick angel never got boring! Useless fact - did you know the -300 variant has a skid under the tail to prevent damage? It lowers and raises with the landing gear.
Hello Alex I have been watching for a long time now and it has been good seeing your channel grow and grow till success and thank you for always sacrificing your comfort for us to view those amazing turbofans views
Condors 757s are a staple of my childhood, I spent many hours on them. Flying on the "Wir lieben fliegen" 757 (also named "Willi") was a core memory for me and my last Condor 757 flight was in 2021 on D-ABOA, which also served as the prototype and first-built 757-300. It's sad to see them being retired, but I'm glad to have had the experiences I managed to get with these beautiful pencils :)
I flew on the 757 from Manchester to Kos in 2015 with condor, the screens in the isles showed the Simpsons on that flight and i thought it to be a good flying experience
I flew on condors 757-300 (D-ABOF) to Hurghada in Egypt once. Little tip: the First 7 or 8 rows are „premium economy“ where they have quite a bit more legroom and leave the middle seat free. But if they can’t sell all of those, they open them up for economy and you can book those for no extra cost (without the free middle seat ofc). At least that’s how it worked for us in 2022
My first ever flight on an Air Liner was a 757-200 operated by Monarch from Manchester to Las Palmas (Gran Caria). It's been my favourite airliner ever since.
I flew on a Condor B- 757 300, it was a, replacement for a Thomas Cook 757 200 (which went ⚙ tech in Tunisia 🇹🇳) What I love is the fact the folk at the front must stay seated till the rear empties or it well tips back lol... Great machine I had seat 💺 across from stewards at main door...
I'm surprised that I actually flew on the type before Alex did...Most of my flights to and from Europe were aboard 757-300's flown by Icelandair from YEG. I also loved the sounds too. It's a pity the flying pencils are being retired. I still think that Boeing should've updated the 757 and kept it in production...
The success of the A321XLR shows that after the end of the 757 production run, there was a desperate need for airlines for a single aisle high capacity plane with medium to long haul capabilites.
I flew the Condor B757-300 one single time on a flight from Tenerife-South to my homeairport Düsseldorf (DUS). Very nice flight but without any service whatsoever on a 4:15h flight .....!
Great video..I am reminded of my first 757 flight which was on Continental Airlines(now unfortunately UA) and my introduction to the best scotch around! Thanks and stay safe!
Interesting. I didn't know about the -300 variant. I was lucky enough to fly the 757-200 with BA on Jan 1st 1995 Edinburgh to LHR. Super smooth greased on landing just like yours too...
I just flew on a 753 last week. Delta from LAX to ATL. The plane was 100% full. I was in 12A comfort +. 757 are fantastic planes to fly. I wish they would start building them again.
I had the privilege to fly on the Boeing 757-300 back in 2011 when my family flew to Phoenix on Delta for spring break. Unfortunately I don’t remember much from the flight there and back because I was pretty young at the time.
I mainly remember my one and only 757-300 flight for a ridiculous reason. I had been in Houston for a conference and back home, bad weather was on the way to mess up my flight back to Newark. So I rebooked my flight, but since my original flight had not been cancelled yet (it eventually was, so I guess I still made the right call), I had to pay the difference in the fare plus a change fee. The new fare was several times more than the original fare, using the "because we can" system of airline pricing. I got on the 753 and found that I had the whole aft cabin, the last 8 or 9 rows, to myself. Basically, United had used me to cut their losses for this fairly empty flight. Cool.
I flew one of those back from Saidi Arabia back in the late 90's. Riyadh to Sigonella to Shannon to BWI. It was a LONG trip, but I didn't mind the single isle.
I remember, as I got out of my Ryanairflight with Lauda last Summer, I saw the Condor D-ABOI in the stunning new blue livery and it was just in Front of me, because at the Hamburg Airport we had to go by foot from the plane to the terminal (budget Ryanair vibes) And the Picture of the D-ABOI I got ist wonderful with no fences between me and the plane and a beautiful sunset in the background 😍
I got to fly on one of these, a 351 on Delta last winter. It was a younger one, built in 2002. They are certainly very interesting, didn't realize how rare these are. You can tell they are zippy compared to other jets, they are off the ground in what seems like seconds. Here's to the flying pencil.
My only flight on a B-757 was on Delta between Salt Lake City and Dallas-Ft Worth back in 2000. The long narrow interior reminded me of flying DC-8-63's in the mid 1970's. I really enjoyed both aircraft very much.
I got to fly on a few of them when I was a kid, mostly United and TWA. I ended up getting to be a flight attendant for TWA and got to work one of their 753's when they flew a HNL-LAX-JFK-PBI route. I miss the days! Aircraft like those old workhorses just don't exist much anymore!
TWA never had 757-300s. Only Northwest, Continental and ATA purchased them among USA carriers. TWA did have 757-200s, most of which are flying for Delta now.
I worked in Renton, Washington, where the 757 was made. Our building was halfway down the short runway & that plane was up & gone at our building. What a fast airplane.
The 300 in the new Condor "ringelsocke" livery must be a sight to behold! I flew on an Icelandair 757 last year and my ears were not prepared for those engines. The return leg on a Max was like golden silence by comparison.
I am traveling between MCO-SFO on United every other week, and my flight out from MCO is usually at 757-300. most of the pilots that I talk to love that plane!
I made once the mistake of pre-booking row 9F on the Condor 753 DUS-FUE and it was Seefunk. And I am a very regular 180cm. So return flight we booked the door 3 emergency exit seats, which were great. And yes, on longer flights Condor does show a movie. All in all, Condor is a well known name for German tourists and I like to fly with them. During the climb when crossing the East coast of Mallorca, you saw the Cap Formentor, an amazing lighthouse 180m above the cliffs with a long and narrow windy road with awesome views along the coast. If you’re looking for a little break let me know. I work in the travel industry and can assist you to book a German package holiday, including flights you may want to checkboxes like Vueling, EasyJet or even Ryanair (🤓) Sundair is also worthwhile to check out.
I must say I found it "strange" seeing a B757 with winglets. These were a retrofit in the 2000s I believe. I remember flying these planes on main trunk routes out of LHR to GLA EDI CDG AMS with BA where they replaced mainly L1011 Tristars on high-capacity or 4+ hour routes and Tridents on commuter routes. These were all however the shorter 200 variants. They were still an awesome plane to fly on and state of the art for the times. I believe they flew from the early 80s to the millennium. They also served transatlantic routes from BHX and GLA.
That was a very fun way to experience a 757-300 by the look of it. I've been fortunate to fly on a American Airlines 757-200 from PHX to LAX in 2017 (now retired), but haven't flown on -300.
Thank you sharing your flights here. You made me laugh 😂 about the leg room on the 757s. I love those aircraft as well. But I need more leg room because I stand 6'2" so, when I have traveled on them I try to get the Exit Seating to get way more leg room. And then the window seat on the right side and it it the second row passed Door 2R gives you so much leg room on the USA flights. But I do like First/Business/Polaris Class sections on our United or American Airlines. I have the transcontinental flights on the 757-200s and I have flown to Hawaii out of Los Angeles on them in First Class. I have not flown on the 757-300s. I heard that United Airlines got the 757-300 from the merger take over of the old but nice Continental Airlines. Friends have told me that those aircraft are so long. Now, see, for me the old DC-8 Super 63s were very long. The old history of Braniff Airlines had those old great history aircraft!!!! By the way, I am a little bit of a nerd myself!!! And a former Purser Flight Attendant from a USA airlines as well. I noticed on you second flight as they were getting ready to turn on to the runway, the cockpit power up as they were making that left turn!! Sweet!! I have loved it when that has happened!!!!
I work for a cargo airline in Canada, and we have a lot of 757’s. Amazing aircraft one thing though we have to hand pack cargo in the bellies unlike our 767’s where we can load the bellies with containers. Everyone at my work hates 757’s because of that. But one good thing about the 757 you can walk under it without ducking your head because it sits so high off the ground so you don’t have to worry about hitting your head off a VHF antenna or the DME antennas
Mallorca is Germany's 17th state and UK's 49th county so no surprise lots of flights heading there. We used to go on Air 2000 757s in the 80s and 90s and I used to obsess about the Rolls Royce RB211-535E4 engines and the ridiculous thrust they had for the size of plane. The climbing out of Birmingham was always amazing.
I’ll be excited to finally add the -300 with Delta later this summer having flown on the -200. United also having the RB211’s, my cousin Swayne Martin says the -300 is more sluggish to fly and award un crosswinds than the -200’s, both of which are surprisingly heavier on the controls stay in the 767’s.
Alex, Icelandair serves Vancouver and Seattle and they fly the 757-200s. Also, check Delta and United schedules out of their Hubs and you might find a 757 between one of the hubs.

Condor had once 15 of it, but are retiring them now piece by piece - 8 of them are still in service at the moment, all of them between 20 and 25 years old. What I´m remembering is how overwhelmed the Spanish Ground Handlers on Gran Canaria obviously were with this large aircraft: They needed nearly two hours to unload the luggage and the return flight departed with a huge delay.
Two 757 on the same day! Lucky you! Thanks for sharing!
Beautifully narrated video. What a plane, long and endless😅buttered landing by both pilot
Now for the -200, we have a tonne down here in the US ;)
did not expect to find you here but your pretty cool
I'm lucky to have flown on a Condor 757-300 from Düsseldorf to Menorca (and back) around 15 years ago! On that flight I also bought a small model of the special livery 753 - and I still have that model. Amazing to see you try it, and even being on the special livery plane itself (which I never saw IRL unfortunately)
I love that engine sound Alex! Great vid!
Once again Alex, your videos always impress and are a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing this adventure with us.
Nice to see you expanding into International Airlines coverage. 👍
My favorite Boeing commercial aircraft. What a hot rod! And, the landing on the return flight? Butter.
Great seating choice. I would highly recommend the same seats but on short flight in 757-200. The sound and the powerful takeoff is amazing!!!
Also when you booked two one way tickets, were you not stressed that the first one might get delayed?
At 16:25 Lufthansa 747 is like peekaboo... Great video as always.
Theres nothing better then arriving at the airport early morning very dark and hearing your plane take off
Love the engine sound!
Fantastic aeroplane. Very lucky to have operated the 757-200 & 300 along with the 767-300 for Thomas Cook Airlines for many years prior to their demise. Very fond memories.
I love the takeoffs on a 757, reminds me of my first flight on an EAL B720.
Been on the Delta 753 a few times!! It's amazing when you are sitting in the back during take-off!
4:23 Music to my ears of the RR RB211’s on the 757

ALEX!! First time viewer!! I just subscribed!! I always wondered what the AC JETZ logo meant when I was sitting in the first class lounge @ YYZ!! I really miss flying and enjoyed your channel today. I have to tell you that I had the "distinct pleasure" as a employee of SHELL GLOBAL to fly back and forth to Dubai from YYZ for 5 amazing years, first class, on EMIRATES A-380!! Truly an amazing adventure!! It was a "TOTAL" revelation of how "the other half travels"!! The people, the lounges, the staff, the food and the wonderful EMIRATES staff who were incredible and understood what "first class" meant and they had it down pat!! I retired 5 years ago and have not flown since!! This video whet my appetite to pursue a new adventure this summer!! I will continue to watch your video's and thanks for your efforts!! Greetings from Canada !! GIDDYUP!!
I've flown on that 50th anniversary special some 12 years ago from Frankfurt to Halifax! Neat!
Loved this, thanks Alex!
I loved the sound of the 757 engines
I flew on a Condor B- 757 300, it was a, replacement for a Thomas Cook 757 200 (which went ⚙ tech in Tunisia 🇹🇳)
What I love is the fact the folk at the front must stay seated till the rear empties or it well tips back lol...
Great machine I had seat 💺 across from stewards at main door...
Flew a United 757-300 between LA and San Fran in April 2014. Beautiful flight on a beautiful aircraft.
12:48 is the part of the island where my aunty lives. Lovely video mate great you got on both 😊👍 Liked
I flew on a United 757-300 from Denver to Lax and the leg room was surprisingly good compared to other United planes I have flew on.
i flew on their 753 SFO-DEN and never thought they were rare lol, yeah it was actually not too bad
@@Banom7ame neither 😂
Great video Alex! I flew on D-ABOJ back in 2016 from LPA to FRA.
this guys content is fire!
I flew the Condor B757-300 one single time on a flight from Tenerife-South to my homeairport Düsseldorf (DUS). Very nice flight but without any service whatsoever on a 4:15h flight .....!
I flew from Tenerife Sur to Frankfurt with the 757, we had a beautiful sunset scene and the flight was very comfortable.
Great video..I am reminded of my first 757 flight which was on Continental Airlines(now unfortunately UA) and my introduction to the best scotch around! Thanks and stay safe!
4:49 beautiful sound… ❤
Interesting. I didn't know about the -300 variant. I was lucky enough to fly the 757-200 with BA on Jan 1st 1995 Edinburgh to LHR. Super smooth greased on landing just like yours too...
Another awesome review
My first Condor flight was on this exact route so many years ago and also with the 753
I just flew on a 753 last week.
I just love seeing Ryanair in the background
Thanks a million for that
I mainly remember my one and only 757-300 flight for a ridiculous reason. Cool.
Great review! I’ve flown on the 753 with Thomas Cook Airlines, I remember it being very long too.
I flew one of those back from Saidi Arabia back in the late 90's. Riyadh to Sigonella to Shannon to BWI. It was a LONG trip, but I didn't mind the single isle.
I remember, as I got out of my Ryanairflight with Lauda last Summer, I saw the Condor D-ABOI in the stunning new blue livery and it was just in Front of me, because at the Hamburg Airport we had to go by foot from the plane to the terminal (budget Ryanair vibes)
And the Picture of the D-ABOI I got ist wonderful with no fences between me and the plane and a beautiful sunset in the background 😍
Ah. Coulda swore towards the end of TWA's life that they owned a few.
Nice experience. I want to do the same thing you did, and now I know I’m not the only one !
I worked in Renton, Washington, where the 757 was made. Our building was halfway down the short runway & that plane was up & gone at our building. What a fast airplane.
Mallorca is gorgeous though, shame you couldn’t see more of it!
Love the dolphin nosed 757s
The 300 in the new Condor "ringelsocke" livery must be a sight to behold! I flew on an Icelandair 757 last year and my ears were not prepared for those engines. The return leg on a Max was like golden silence by comparison.
Great video ! Thanks
I remember us making wing ribs for 757s here in Melbourne Australia - yonks ago!
A M A Z I N G !!! To pass the time, until the next flight, just fly quickly to Mallorca and back.
Condor / LH launched the 757-300 as well. They were the launch customer in 1999.
Love the Roller power...
Amazing work! Keep it up!
Had my first flight in a Condor 757-300 to LGIR - Heraklion :)
12:56💙💙
Beautiful video ❤
I almost lost a mouthful of coffee reading your reasons for being on the flight … I’m a nerd 😂 … love the sense of humour, Alex. Great video.
It's such a dorky looking plane.
I love it.
I remember C3000 757-300's Love Condor business class. The food and service is amazing. Cannot wait to try their newer A330 AC.
Did Canada 3000 have 757-300s? I thought they only had 757-200s.
MAN the RB-211s sound so good.
I hope you had a excellent flight😁
Alex, Icelandair serves Vancouver and Seattle and they fly the 757-200s. Also, check Delta and United schedules out of their Hubs and you might find a 757 between one of the hubs.
