There’s nurse pull cords in every bathroom in every hospital. She could’ve screamed. She wrapped her baby in trash bags. The autopsy shows the baby had taken at least one breath. The meds in the baby’s system were at levels that wouldn’t kill a baby. She’s toast and this attorney pisses me off.
The attorney is doing their job. Be an adult and study the legal system and you won’t have to get “mad” at nothing.

As a perinatal L&D nurse she had EVERY conceivable chance of offering her baby a chance to life. She did not. Alexee knew she delivered a baby. In a hospital !This defense is a massive over reach to believe that it's the" hospital's fault" she buried her baby in a trash pail.. They were treating her based on what SHE said was wrong with her on admission. She denied PG before she was administered the medication. The question is usually " Are you pregnant or is there any possibility you could be pregnant?"She said No and also said she never had sex. It's the hospitals fault she is a Liar? There are false positives PG urine tests as well. A blood test would need to confirm it. That's not uncommon practice to confirm with a blood test. Morphine is given to pregnant women in labor and had Alexee pulled the emergency light when she went to the bathroom, the baby could have been given narcan and immediately reversed the affects of the morphine and the baby would have been administered neonatal resuscitation. She instead wrapped the baby up and hid it in a garbage bag. She hid it because she KNEW she was pregnant, she knew she delivered a baby yet was still trying to hide it instead and covering up her own lies. She gave her baby NO chance for survival.

Her being allowed in the bathroom for 18 min ALONE is wild normally a nurse will escort and tell her don’t flush. They didn’t check on her or read test results for nearly an hour
She was in the perfect place to hand her baby over without question. To blame this hospital is downright cowardly. Her attorney and family aren’t too bright and keep digging her into a bigger hole that she won’t be able to get out. After all of this, she deserves the harshest penalty.

I've been a nurse for a long time. A big part of our job is documentation, which is done on the computer and can take up a decent amount of time. When I heard this attorney talking about them "all sitting around on the computer," I wanted to ask him why he sits around shuffling paper and not in court all day. We all have to do "paperwork." The reason why documentation takes so long is because of attorneys and the risk of getting sued.
BTW, I've taught pharmacology to nursing students. Morphine is not considered harmful to a fetus when given in therapeutic doses.

Doesn’t matter how horrible it was to throw the baby in the trash can. This is Court TV, it’s about the law, the evidence, and about what can be proven. You do NOT know whether the trash caused the baby’s death, or the morphine. Assumptions get you nowhere.
Coming from a criminal defense attorneys daughter I can say the only one making ASSUMPTIONS is YOU because nothing in my comment said anything about a trash can. Don't make an ASS out of you and me by making assumptions my baby. This is not up for debate. Have a good one. Lol
The medical staff was checking in on her, she literally told them that she was okay. Medical staff can't be expected to go into the bathroom with every pregnant patient on the off chance that person decides to give birth and throw their baby in the trash. Plus even if she was on drugs and couldn't feel pain, when that baby came, she could have shouted for a nurse. Literally shouting takes less effort than putting the baby in the trash and playing with the trash bags so that nobody could have a chance to find the baby in time to save him.
Listening to this interview is beyond infuriating. These ppl are not medical experts and don’t know how hospitals work. I’m a nurse with med-surg experience. First of all, a pregnancy blood test DOES NOT tell you how far along you’re pregnant, it just shows if you’re pregnant or not. You’d need an ultrasound and the estimated last menstrual period date to get an estimate how far along a woman is pregnant.
Secondly, the patient reported to the staff she isn’t pregnant. She was there for back pain. Nurses usually have multiple ppl on their assignments and especially if they’re not acute or very sick, they’re not going to be hovering over lab results that may or may not be uploaded into the system during their shift. Expecting a nurse to check lab results as soon as it’s uploaded in a non urgent situation is unrealistic.
At the end of the day, the baby was born alive and this chick took it upon herself to suffocate it with a trash bag, dumped it in a bin, and covered it up. The morphine didn’t kill the baby. The hospital didn’t kill the baby. SHE KILLED THE BABY.

A quantitative beta HCG blood test can tell you how far along you are. It's not exact like an ultrasound of course but it's more definitive than a positive or negative type test. It's actual numbers I'm a med tech.

Alexee's mom said that at that time because they had the results of the urine test but not the blood test. So the hospital told them she was pregnant but Alexee still kept denying it then they did the blood test to back it up and also tell the hospital how far along she was because she also refused to let them examine her.

How can you say the hospital has done nothing wrong? Have you see the evidence? Were you at the scene? Do you work for the hospital? If they've done nothing wrong than that should come out. idk if you know this but murder is a serious offense which entails a lot of investigation from both parties, not just hearsay or things the media has reported. Can't know for sure if the hospital has any culpability or not, unless you know and seen all the evidence. It wasn't until the baby was actually coming out that I realized what was going on. However that being said... I did not place my child into the trash and call it a day. I called 911 to get my child to the hospital.

I’m pretty sure she had the baby in the first few minutes and then spent the rest of the time trying to hide the evidence. The nurse mentioned hearing the paper towel dispenser and the toilet flushing a lot, so she spent time cleaning while her son was suffocating.

Fyi, a nurse cannot release a test result without a provider (doctor, PA-C, ARNP) signing off on it first. Even if you want to fault the hospital for this, this chick refused to let them examine her AND she was in the perfect place to get medical help. Instead she tried to cover up the baby's death.

Even if she got assisted to leave her room to go to the bathroom, the baby died because of asphyxia. Autopsy revealed the baby was alive when delivered. Trevizo purposely put the baby in a plastic bag and tried hiding the bag in the trash can, didn’t even report the delivery, kept the secret and hoped for nobody to find out. She either knew or suspected she was pregnant, and ran to the bathroom when she felt she broke water. Morphine didn’t kill the baby, nor did the alleged negligence of the nurses. Trevizo is the murderer. During those 18 minutes of delivery, her mother came to the bathroom, but Trevizo didn’t mention what was happening. She even ripped apart the umbilical cord and planned how to hide her baby. She killed the creature. End of case.
I remember hearing they took a urine pregnancy test and it came back positive, but Alexee denied being pregnant or sexually active. So they did the blood test for undeniable proof she was pregnant and to try to gauge how far along she was. Alexee went to the bathroom before the doctor had the opportunity to get back around to her. The staff did their jobs, they checked on her multiple times in that bathroom and she lied! When she came out, she lied! At that point, whether they told her she was pregnant or not didn’t matter, because she knew, she had delivered the baby and discarded him!! Why not tell the truth??

True the blood test was done and she was informed of that after....but she WAS given a urine test and was told it was positive. She chose to LIE LIE LIE.

I was born to a teen mom who didn’t want a baby, but she surrendered me at a hospital, which is one of the places you can leave a baby without abandonment charges. That was like 35 years ago, so this girl grew up with those laws in place. She was a cheerleader. Maybe we should focus on getting our girls educated instead of cheering on boys who will go on to get a scholarship?

Unfortunately there are still parents out there that believe that educating our children about protection, birth control, sex etc will encourage them to have sex. @@jerryalexander8803the amount of morphine that she was given was a low dose. That's one of the meds that can be given during labor and delivery. And pregnant women walk around and go to the bathroom during labor. In fact, a lot of doctors recommend it.

The pregnancy test in the hospital doesn’t tell them how far along she was, you’ll show a positive pregnancy test as soon as you fall pregnant, you can have back pain when your pregnant, doesn’t automatically mean you’re in labour, she wasn’t forth coming, neither was the mother, if the mother knew. Not the hospitals fault, even if the bubba wasn’t breathing when he was born, she could have screamed for help, she never gave the doctors a chance to save him 😢
From my experience, hospitals will give you a questionnaire upon arrival asking if you are/may be pregnant. Perhaps she lied on the paperwork. I think it’s a complete audacity that her and her family are suing the hospital. The videos, body cam videos, and police interviews with hospital staff are jarring! She was in the BEST place to relinquish the child; instead, she chose to hide the babe in a trash can

I’m a nurse and early in my nursing career I was working with this new to me Dr. he was asking questions with a patient who was being evasive he straight out said to the patient “you can lie to your priest, you can lie to your lawyer, don’t ever lie to your Dr. is could cost you your life.” It was impactful the patient came clean with what he had been up too, which without that bit of information could have been a detriment to his treatments.

This was not the hospital horrible this mother raised this girl to not take accountability for her actions ! She’s an enabler! They were not able to perform life saving measures because the baby was too far gone and the autopsy found air in the lungs meaning the baby was alive when she gave birth. I have learned a lot since this case in the comments section. Multiple nurses have talked about morphine being regularly administered to pregnant women, even as part of delivery. Many women who gave birth and were given morphine during their pregnancy and delivery have commented.
She was checked on SEVERAL times while in the bathroom. She was asked repeatedly if she needed help and she said no numerous times. She also lied to hospital staff about being a virgin too. Anyone with any common sense knows what happened. She was pregnant, afraid to tell her mom because her mom is overbearing and controlling. She went to the hospital in active labor, went to the bathroom to deliver the baby in secret and hid it after she suffocated it. She concealed the murder and played stupid when confronted about it. Right after she’s informed they found the baby she said “I was scared”. That’s the most truth she’s spoken so far, she was scared to tell her mom and decided to murder her baby instead.
So the hospital put her on a bed with all contraptions and still couldn't figure that she's pregnant, & about term.
