How'd Spite do on his first solo install? If you want to help pick out some more modifications for the bike, be sure to register to win on yammienoob.co/ Don't forget we are also giving away the CB650R and the DRZ400 all for free!

The only 3 mods you really need for the Ninja 400. 1. Slip on exhaust 2. Tail tidy 3. Any mirrors besides the stock (got the ninja 300 mirrors on mine). Spending an extreme amount of money to squeeze out a few extra horses is simply not worth it. Enjoy it for what it is, it’s a super fun and easy bike to ride.

Wish I would have got the 400 as my first bike. Instead I have a 250. Still buying a 400, as my first track bike. Will probably upgrade to a 636 for track, and keep 400 as a daily. A 400 is all you really need for the streets, without being tempted to do way more than you should. SOOO much attention should be put into your safety street riding, compared to the temptations on a 600+, drawing, or limiting that attention.

I like this Spite guy a lot. He's a great addition to the channel poppa Yam. Oh by the way... I'm getting my first bike the first week of January. It's an 04,SV-650 with freaking 3,970 miles on it lol. It looks like it's right off the showroom floor. Oh and it's 3200 bucks. I wanted to ask all you seasoned riders if that's a good deal or if I'm getting greazed lol? Seems like a good deal and I got to test drive it and it seems perfect to me but I would still like an opinion on the price.

One thing he left out when installing the frame sliders.... Do not take both engine bolts out at the same time. Take one out at a time or your engine might drop and you will have to lift it up to get the holes to align. He also said there in no torque ratio's for those bolts. Not sure if that is correct. Waiting on an email from the manufacturer to see if these engine bolts need to be torqued to a specific. will update later.

Idk about the 400. But i have the 250cc version and it is worth it. :) Why? Because i have a sport bike look, fast around it class, and yet so comfortable for riding in the city or touring. The issue for me (250cc) are just the low rpm too slow, you must mid-high rev it to get a better start after traffic light. And the seat i think not so comy after 2-3 hours riding, it always getting hot.
But my first issue now better because i change the exhaust to full system aftermarket exhaust and change the clutch plate and clutch spring with racing one. Because the clutch is very light at standart, my modification just made the clutch a bit hard/heavy but not as heavy as old ninja 250 i guess.
Thats my opinion. For a better feel try it yourself. :)

Does the radiator cover have a function or is it just for aesthetics, for my own ninja 400

It'll keep rocks and debris from damaging the fragile radiator fins. That and it does look good.

I've seen holes in radiators big enough that I could put my finger in it. Definitely gotta protect the radiator.

    Great video!
I found this by total accident.
I'm looking to see if I buy a Ninja 400 ABS, if there a way to make it automatic.
    Don't laugh!
    I'm serious here.
I'm disabled and I used to have a Ridley eons ago.
Automatic motorcycles are way too expensive and they are just too much bike for me.
I'm a small woman (also disabled) and cannot handle a bigger bike.
I don't want to buy one of these fake junk knockoff automatic "bikes in a crate" from overeas that are all over the internet either.
I wish these companies would cater a small portion of their multi billion dollar industry to disabled people.
And be affordable and smaller engines and size to easily handle better.
    Especially disabled veterans.
There is a huge market out there.
What one legged guy or gal wouldn't want to have a bike they could handle and get out and enjoy a ride?
    And be able to afford.
    I know I would.
So I'm looking at ways to do just that.
And I'm meeting really great RUclips guys and gals along the way.
Thanks for giving a such a great review!
I'll be checking out more if your videos.

Most major bike companies offer high quality automatic scooters with cvt from 50cc to over 650cc. The controls are all hand operated and an absolute joy to ride.
Dont forget most traditional motorcycles have foot-operated rear brake, whereas scooter uses left hand lever for rear brake instead of clutch. Honda Yamaha Suzuki BMW Piaggio Vespa offer many great options. Please check out some "maxi scooters" if you haven't already. And thank you for serving our country.

I’m not sure if this is applicable for you but the Honda hunter 125 cc cub isn’t automatic, but it has a heel shifter. So you would only have to move your leg back and forth and press down to shift gears. You don’t need the upward pulling or ankle bend. I wonder if something like this can be added as a rear set to an existing bike too.
I agree that it sucks that there isn’t great options for bikes for disabled people that are affordable. Honda also made the NM4, which you might be able to find used for a lot less since it’s no longer in production. They also have DCT (automatic) in their NC700X models and the Africa twin I believe. Though the Africa twin can be a taller bike. I think the DCT has a mode that allows you to shift with your thumb if you choose to but you can just use it in automatic mode. The cheapest automatic will probably be their Super Cub 125. If you like the three wheel scene there can-am ryker is also a good option for automatic. I wish I could offer more to help.

The essential mod for the 400 is new friction plates for the clutch and stiffer clutch springs. Stock slips at some point and isn’t very nice feeling.
