Thanks so much for posting this!!! You saved me $100 - the cost of getting an installer out to do it for me. It's ridiculous to spend thousands on shades and they don't give you directions for something so simple.
Thank you so much! This was so detailed - I didn't even know how to open the head rail lol! And the tip about the metal parts having to have contact was helpful too. Now our shades are working :)
I've had these in high locations in two new houses. I do not understand why, during construction, power couldn't be supplied from the house's AC power. It would seem to me that the major reason for having motorized blinds is an inconvenient location for operation. Doesn't that make the need to replace batteries a bad idea also?
Thanks, It is nice to be able to "reload" your batteries in your 09' and newer HD Duette Skylights instead of having to wait on a new battery. Much more consumer friendly. As far as I have heard they are sticking with Alkaline for standard shades for now but I guess we will all see! Hello from KC.
How long do batteries last? All those batteries, with the blind going up and down twice a week, how long would the batteries last? Do you think, please? . . Cheers from, del-boy.
Best tip in the universe towards the end on how to clear the memory function !!

I got tired of changing 4 dozen AAs in our Duettes, went with the rechargeable upgrade. Not looking back.

Thanks for posting. Simple enough once you know how it flips.
I think the batteries are stuck in mind. Maybe they swelled up. Any ideas?
