Sadly I'm brought up in the new generation, but yeah, the 90's was the best music, I love it. I could listen to 90's music for ages, and not get bored, I love the 90's.
I gotta thank Todd in the Shadows for reintroducing/introducing me to this band. I liked so many of their songs but never realized that the songs were by Semisonic until I watched One Hit Wonderland and after that I found out that this is a band that has released so many of my favorite songs. Funny how you find something out like that. You realized you missed out on so much.

If you look at the video, you can see at least a dozen different people walking through and pretending to get ice cream. I was one of them. They rented a closed up ice cream shop in Wicker Park (Chicago) just for the video and colored mashed potatoes to look like blue ice cream. (Although they did give us real ice cream in exchange for our time). We were told to bring both blue clothes and red clothes but we ended up just wearing the blues. The little blond boy looked like a young Curt Cobain. We spent a long time waiting for the band to shoot their scene in the ice cream parlor area, just so we could walk through to exit. Eventually, they had us exit through the back alley. Sadly there was a dead deer outside the door. Disgusting! Overall, it was a fun experience and they even sent me a videotape of it as they promised (this was in 1996, I believe).

I enjoy being able to say and post controversial things without worrying about professional blowback. Mous Don't ask me why but I've come from 7 years in the future to tell you that in the very early 90s the Smashing Pumpkins had a video in which Billy Corgan drove around in an ice cream truck. So there are other ice cream related videos. I think it was "Today (is the greatest)"...been a while but even longer now!

They played 2 weeks ago in Mound and fucking rocked. They played most of this album and, like I felt at the time, it really is their best. They could've played Brand New Baby to make it perfect but that'll keep em coming back for more. Those sideburns were not his best.
