The intro to the movie is so gorgeous! The music, the scenary, and of course, Jack and Ennis meeting for the first time! It's magical

Brilliant character introduction, showing us the personalities and differences of our main leads. Jack a passionate and expressive person with a temper, who wants to engage with others and create intimacy with no hesitation, and will take risks to do so; Ennis by contrast a reticent cautious man who is so afraid to connect or be perceived, and has been abused so much that his emotional interiority is almost completely broken and diminished and withered away.

This is the most heart-wrenching love story I have ever watched...it tugs at the heart and makes it ache so much.

As far as I know, this is Heath Ledger's best role, not the Joker. Jake is also great in his role. I love the intro of the movie, no words, just looks, that's class act.

I could forget the biggest movie in the history of motion picture except Brokeback Mountain. Its not just a movie, its a golden page in the history of motion picture history. This movie is like Elvis- there's just one!

Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger made a perfect dumbbell, they made Ennis and Jack a magnificent cinematographic couple, I loved their chemistry, their friendship, their brotherly union, their indescribable love for each other, I loved the story, settings, production, the Ang Lee's masterful direction, all of this made it possible for the film to be a complete success in all aspects, a story that identifies you in one way or another, personally it is one of my favorites, I watch it over and over again, I can't denying that it makes me feel very sad, I cry when I see the end, analyze him as a couple who deserves to live, be together, who truly loved each other, but the intolerance of the world did not allow them to freely live their love. With a deep psychology of this leading couple, it is without a doubt a work that was carefully made that knew how to be at the right moment one of the best moments of the seventh art. 😊❤️😍💯🎥🎬🎞📸😭😭✌️👏👏👏🙏✌️❤️❤️

I want to meet a man who inspires me like Jack inspired Ennis. Love between two men can be SO beautiful and real and the bond so strong; the problem is it takes two MEN, not one man and the other a scared little boy hiding himself from the world. Therein, is the root of the problem unfortunately. 😭
If any movie was tailor made for a Criterion Collection release, it's "Brokeback Mountain".
I loved this movie, the backdrop of the brokeback mountains were simply breathtaking and Beautiful!

There is so much beautiful "nothing" throughout....I read the short story in a collection of award winning shorts....it was 3? maybe 5 pages? maybe a few more but not much......still it conveyed the story .....and the film?Expanded it .......astounding
That Ennis is the one given the watch and he's the one who lives the longest...

I hope i get to see this movie at least once. I've heard and read many good things about it. I wish people could just be true to themselves instead of hiding and hurting others in the process of it. It would be terrible to be married to someone just to find out they're gay or bisexual. Just say you're an orange instead of pretending to be an apple. Eventually the truth will still come out, so it's of no use.
