Mine has also been super impressive. I’ve had this iteration about three weeks, also in Chicagoland. I don’t know why the CNBC talking heads pontificate about how it “only works on the expressway but not driving through town”. It’s phenomenal and I don’t even drive anymore, other than backing out of the driveway. FSD all the time.

I drove uber eats all day today using v12.3.6. Engaged FSD from each pick up to delivery location. Spokane Valley WA. Had to disengage in apartment complexes and parking lots. But no other issues. It drove like a native. Very cautious pull outs. Slowed at speed bumps. Careful around pedestrians. Very Very comfortable. Robo taxi service could start in spokane tmrw with designated PU / DO points.

I bought FSD in 2018 for $5k. I've been involved in technology and AI for many decades, so my expectation was that FSD wouldn't work for many years, and quite possible would never work. But, I wasn't going to pass up such a great opportunity to watch it learn. It's been a great experience these past 6 years.

An easy 1:00 pm Chicago drive, but FSD has problems:
1:35 FSD *cannot* *backup* , so it cannot get out of a parking spot
8:17 Not a tight area, for a human driver
9:45 FSD is in the wrong lane, then illegally moves to the Left
    10:40 FSD misses a turn
10:50 FSD pulls over to the right curb for no reason. *Confusion*
22:16 FSD is stuck behind a car for 6o seconds. Human would have avoided this
24:20 FSD is *stuck* *again* . *Disengagement*
26:18 FSD slows down, for no reason. Human *intervenes*
31:37 FSD stops way too far back, at a Red light
FSD is still having problems in big cities: Chicago, NYC, Los Angeles, Toronto.
    Maybe v13 will be better?

1:35 backing up not released. coming soon.
8:17 driver said that. not the car.
9:45 humans do this every day. all day.
10:40 very human to miss a turn.
10:50 human changed the route. could be figuring out which way to go. very humanlike.
22:16 humans get stuck like this all the time, but finally, you found one that a human would solve easily.
24:20 dude, this is the same situation. can't count it twice.
      26:18 yeah that's 1 for you
      31:37 minor mistake. probably irrelevant.
i'd say you got 2/9 there. i think that's a fail. clearly you will never make a very good robot.
nothing here that seems remotely problematic to solve. by the way v12.4 is already released. musk says 5 to 10 times less problems. we'll see.

10:11 the funny thing is that yes, there are some minor issues with lane selection and other choices now. Surely it will get better, but it begs the question whether or not in the future when a HUGE percentage of cars are autonomous - will it even matter anymore? The cars will just do their thing and be safe even in weird scenarios that might confuse other human drivers. Maybe there won't even be a need for signals or traffic rules. India driving will be the status quo for the whole world with robot cars. lol

For background on my Lower Wacker comment: This road runs under "Upper Wacker" (perhaps not surprisingly). But the two don't exactly overlap, so FSD seems to get confused about which level it's on. In the past, this has made FSD basically unusable on Lower Wacker.

Hey, John, here's yet another idea for a video. I'd do it if I had better video equipment:
Many drivers complain about nags. I, and many others, have a system in which they have a hand on one knee, lightly gripping the steering wheel and letting it slide through the hand when it turns. That's enough resistance to allow the car to register that you're there. You could also show that having two hands on the wheel sometimes doesn't allow enough resistance.
You could do a video with the camera aimed at the hand to show how this works.
If you do it, better hurry before the new versions that use only cameras to check. ;)

Great camera view, sort of imax wide and tall. Slightly blocked when you then add visualization but you moved it around. You can really see any close action at the corners of the car. You might be able to cut out the central square of the visualization in the split map view and equivalent size central map square and have those as two free elements, that way you may not need to move things around in editing. A static layout.
Word is Tesla is rehiring a core of the supercharger team. There was just a disagreement about the chain of command but it was resolved.
It did well underground in Chicago although you might have picked the easiest but it seemed very good.
