You are a fantastic teacher Tia! You have helped me drop 60 lbs so far. I'm in my mid 40's, had a baby last year, and all your videos keep me motivated and inspired! You have taught me well Sweetie!
Something to have in mind is that fat digests slowly. Quote: Ingestion of fat before a carbohydrate meal markedly slows GE (gastric emptying) and attenuates the postprandial rises in glucose, insulin, and GIP, but stimulates GLP-1, in type 2 diabetes. Worth playing around with the macronutrient split depending on how you feel/perform in very high fat or very low fat versions of vegan diets.
Watch "Healthy Immune Dr." tells about which rice is healthier and why snd why refrigerated rice and ftozen is better and lowers its glycemic rate! Also saw s video on walnut and mushrooms and oniond in food processor is great alternative burger!!!
Thanks for watching. I'm so happy you are here - make sure to like this video and leave a comment so we can chat :) Also, sorry about the confusion the sneaky eggs may have caused 😂 I googled a free pic of whole plant foods for the video and they snuck that in there. This is probably because - technically, a whole food plant based diet can consist of 10% animal products for some people. For me no because I am vegan, but for some 90% plant based works for them. Regardless, I didn’t see it until after I posted the video so again, sorry for any confusion. It’s not my photo and I don’t eat eggs :) check out this article where Forks Over Knives talks about this. www.forksoverknives.com/wellness/plant-based-diet-vs-vegan-diet-whats-the-difference/ Happy New Year.
Great video! Thanks! I think sometimes what holds me back is thinking I need to eat more vegan fats and proteins as I am in menopause. But I think I just need to go all in. I have a chronic health condition and am 50 lbs overweight. I want to be healthy and am all in on the 50/50 plate!
I can understand those feelings that may hold you back. I had so many too and that’s why I needed a coach to help me get going. Not that you do, but thought I’d share. You got this 👊🏻🎉
Great video Tia and good to see you back from your well deserved break 👍. Yes being vegan doesn't mean healthy unless it's whole plant foods based. Love 🥰 the video and thanks for the inspiration. Love 💕Tia.
Great idea about using 3 months or less out of the year to implement a new healthy habit. You're right if you look at the whole year you can become overwhelm which is why I stopped doing resolutions. I like your way better because let's say I decide to try a new habit for a month, I can think about that habit at the end of the month and decide whether I want to include it in my life and continue with the process. A new way of looking at the year, take it in chunks if you want.
@@christinedougherty8089 can you fill me in? I started following a WFPB lifestyle january 1st. Its going great but want to gather as much knowledge as possible and always love a challenge. 😊
Tia posted this on January 1st - this is the challenge in a nutshell. Pinned by Healthy Vegan Mama Healthy Vegan Mama 2 weeks ago For 100 days I’m eating a 50/50 plate for every meal. So half my plate will be non starchy veggies (or fruit) and the other half will be starch with some added protein. This is going to be fun and a great new habit to start up again! Make sure to follow so you can eat along with me - @healthy.vegan.mama Fun fact - I actually started this one day early to film this and post today 😁 Breakfast: overnight oats full of mangos - 1 c oats, 1 c plant milk, 1 tbsp chia seeds, lots of frozen mangos, 1 tbsp maple syrup. Let sit in ridge overnight Lunch - 1 c rice, shredded carrots, cucumber, 1/4 avocado, 1/4 tofu - top with sesame seeds and low sodium soy sauce Dinner - broccoli salad, tofu and rice sautéed in low sodium soy sauce and nutritional yeast.
Happy New Year Tia!!! Greetings from Park Rapids, Minnesota! I totally agree.... I had tried to live on fruits and green veggies... absolutely could NOT maintain it. Potatoes are GREAT... it is what you put ON the potato that can make or break you!!!
I have to tell you that you explained that the best I've ever heard.. Amazingly simple when you really think about it.. .Thank you.. 100 days here I come.
Thank you tia for being so great! Love your channel from the start, I am so with you on the habits! Gonna grab your 10 min recipe book already have your healthy vegan mama e book and lo e it gon a re read it, also so happy for your weekly video's again, I will be supporting and watching weekly 😊
Hi Tia, you mentioned it took you almost a decade, which I have heard you say on other videos as well. I have been watching you for a little over a year now and I think I’m in the same boat. Can you tell more of what you were doing that made it complicated? That might help some of us out here. Thanks so much and keep making videos please. Sandy in Florida
Thanks Tia. I like the 50/50 idea. Looking forward to the tasty ideas you come up with. My issue is I need some more flavor without using oil. It’s very difficult!
Soy sauce, tahini and nutritional yeast are my saviors! I couldn’t live without them. Soy and tahini together is great, soy and nutritional yeast is great. All together and all alone. However you cut it, they are flavor savors 🙌🏻
@@HealthyVeganMama thank you for those ideas! I also like Dijon mustard on veggies and potatoes. I am also all in on the 50/50 plate challenge and moving every day.
You are such an inspiration and a wonderful motivator! I have your cookbooks and you make it so simple! Thank you!! I have a copy of page 164 of your Simple Vegan Mama hanging on my fridge door…I just need to focus and do it for me and my health.
Happy New Years beautiful 💕 Thank you for sharing your wonderful recipes and videos. I have list 50pds and I will continue following everything you share . When I jumped in 100 percent and went vegan I started with THE STARCH SOLUTION for one month I started in October 1ST 2023 I am making vegan meals now. My wife told me I was going to gain weight on the starch solution I lost weight.
It’s just a picture from the internet, not a picture of mine. But technically a whole food plant based diet means you eat 90% all plant foods so, some people do eat a little animal products. Not me, I’m vegan…but to answer your question…technically within a wfpb diet, eggs every now and then would be okay 10% of the time.
Hiiiiii my name is Rita, I would love to hear ur opinion of a documentary I watched that a Dr. Claims weight issues are too genetic and obesity can't be healed, dr.s are also saying this medication is only way obesity will be helped, I could go on but I will start there
Hey Tia. Are you or were you a coffee drinker? I can’t seem to kick my creamer. I do good for a few days, trying all kinds of different things and nothing measures up so I end up going back to it. Any advice?
I have really struggled with high triglycerides since increasing my starches...even my a1c went up. I have a history of an eating disorder and wonder if that wrecked the way my body metabolizes carbs. I really want to love this lifestyle but my body seems to reject it. :(
For movement you should check out body move. It’s like a flowy dance to get your body moving. You basically can do what ever you want! But sounds like it might be up your ally! The word exercise is also triggering to me. I don’t like it. Much rather move my body!
Hi there - I gave an update on this a while back. My consistency with it hasn’t been great. Getting covid twice last year really threw my activity for a loop. And with this last round in Aug I found that I had after effects of covid causing my joints to hurt and jumping wasn’t comfortable. The joint problem is gone now - praise God 🙌🏻 - but My jumping is still not consistent. I just jump when I feel like it and I love it still!
The photo showed the word "vegan" but the letter "v" was hard to see and part of the letter "a" was cut off so it did look like the word "egg". At 31:26 the photo of the 3rd e cookbook as it moved to the right...

I just rewatched the “egg gate” portion of the video again (numerous times). What a stretch to try and stir things up!!! I 💯 agree with you Tia…in my eyes an occasional animal product ingredient can be part of a WFPB diet (even though I don’t choose to include them in mine.) Keep up the great work Tia…I absolutely love the simplicity of so many of your meals!

This is my goal to move over to a wpbd, we have always sone it for health & environment..but find we are not eating enough protein/veg.
Whole plant foods will provide you all the protein you need. Just make sure you are eating beans, lentils, peas, tofu, etc.
Watching your first slide of whole plants etc, why are there eggs in the frame?
