I keep a cloth bag in my freezer and add my broth veggie scraps like onion ends etc. when it is full I cook in on the stove on low for a couple of hours then strain. Free broth!🌈🌈
One hack I do. I got a spray bottle that is supposed to be for oil and put veggie broth in it. I keep it in the fridge and when I roast veggies I just spray it with veggie broth and throw them in the oven. Helps them not dry out too much. I also double batch waffles and pancakes for the kids and throw them in the freezer. Easy breakfasts for the week. Also, Changing to a pantry chef after watching Tia's video a couple months ago changed me life. I have soooooooooo much more time to get other things done because I'm not in the kitchen all evening. And yes!!!! The frozen rice is a game changer.

When I go to open it I shake it up so it blends and then once I've taken out what I need I put it back on the shelf upside down. I find it much less messy than blending it and then putting it back in the jar and it works just as well.
I grate several carrots (6-7) in my food processor and place into a jar and it will last for at least 2 weeks. Then I use grated carrots in my salads and I love putting a handful in my morning oatmeal before cooking and I use in baking( baked oatmeal or muffins) It’s a great time saver for me! And carrots are so clean that all I do is rinse my food processor out and dry. 😉
Hi! My hack is to make our dry beans in an instapot. It takes about 30 to cook, 20 to cool. We then usually make hummus and use the beans during the week, including freezing. We love this because when we went plant based, we were drowning in bean cans. No, no recycling of cans! Cans are still an awesome hack in a pinch! And Thx, Tia!!
Great ideas! I buy avocado when the bag of 5 or 6 is on sale but they are usually all ready to eat. I peel and freeze them in a ziploc. Thaw each in the microwave for 1 minute at half power. I often take 1/2 of one mixed with PB2, a little water and garlic and it makes the best kale salad dressing ever! PB2 replaces tahini in this recipe.

Just a tip for those who don't know: When you cook pasta, potatoes or rice and refrigerate them overnight, then reheat the next day, it makes the starch in them become resistant. Cooked, cooled, then reheated, keeps your body from absorbing as many calories from your favorite starchy foods!!!
I put the small dough hook attachment on my mixer and blend the peanut butter right in the jar. No need to have the extra step of putting it in a blender and then putting it back in the jar and having to clean the blender. It works really well
Love this! As well as canned (or tinned as we say in the U.K.) beans I cook dry beans in an instant pot, which means no soaking, then freezing them in portions so they’re ready just to add to things when I want them. 🌱
My peanut butter hack for natural pb is to take my hand mixer and only use one attachment and mix it right in the jar. Just be sure to stop it before pulling it out lol.

I second becoming a pantry chef. We will stock up on the beans and legumes when they’re on offer, even if we aren’t planning on using them straight away. It means we are stocked up and have really easy options when we are running low on fresh foods. So quick and easy to whip up a bean/lentil curry out of the pantry.
You can also flip the peanut butter jar over (close tight) and store that way. Everytime you flip it over to open it, the best peanut butter is always at the top. :-)
Same as Cheri F; I chill my peanut butter, mix it once it’s cold, and then keep it in the fridge and it never separates again. Perfect all the way thru and no blender to clean!
Parboiled rice is great too. I cant tell you how many times I've grabbed some parboiled brown rice and had it cooked up within 15 minutes instead if 45. Game changer.

Fantastic video as always. Learnt new things today - Pb and avocado in the fridge. My hacks - strawberries soak them 5 min in 1 part White Vinegar 8 parts Water. Drain & Rinse Then let dry in colander for hours. Pat dry then put in mason jar with lid on. No fermentation. Stays for 2 weeks as good as first day.
I use a stick blender to mix in the peanut butter oil. It is slow but I don't have a blender jar to cleanout. Also, I batch cook rice, and beans from dry, then bag them up and freeze them. Dry peas and beans are much cheaper than canned.
Great tips as always Tia! Another hack that I recently learned about avocados is to cut them in half width-wise instead of lengthwise. This exposes less surface area to potentially brown before you can use the other half. I haven't tried it yet, but it could work!
Single person hack: I buy the Pacific brand low sodium veggie broth in the 4 pack of small (8 oz?) pkgs. If I buy the large box, unless I'm making soup, it goes bad before I use it all. I have no problem using up a small one for sautéing veggies before it goes bad. I also dislike making bunches of sauces. So I have found clean sauces (sweet chili, kung pao, BBQ etc) and keep them on hand. I can then add to beans, veggies, soy curls, rice, pasta or tofu and make an easy meal.
I used to put peanut butter in the blender. or blend it with a knife. but now I do the hack I learned from Simnett Nutrition (giving credit for a great tip - also plantbased). just turn the peanut butter jar upside down. the oil will rise again, blending with the rest. when the oil starts showing on top, shake it. and refrigerate it. Love this. I also love your 2nd peanut butter hack. now I use it all the time. I love your peanut butter / powder sauce on toast, and put mashed banana with cinnamon and coconut stevia. Yum. and lower fat, now. :)
When making any meal when possible-go ahead and double the amount and freeze. Works for pancakes; waffles, pasta, muffins, rice, soups, chili, sloppy Joe lentils, pbj’s for kids etc.
Hi Tia! I have another peanut butter hack that I got from Simnett Nutrition! When you bring your jar of peanut butter home with the oil floating on the top, put it upside down (sit it on the lid in the cabinet). In a day or two it will all have sunk down the sides of the jar to the top. Then, all you have to do is vigorously shake it and it stays mixed! I couldn’t believe it when he said it - but it works!
I have been a pantry chef for quite some time and most would consider me "OCD" about it, LOL!! All my grains/beans/fruits etc. are in WECK jars. I converted my dining room into a master pantry area, with stainless steel racks for all my equipment, pots/pans, dried goods, etc. To me, it is such a fun and organized way to be creative. I have actually been remodeling/creating pantry areas for friends. Also, I make homemade everything and soup is one of my son's favorite. He happens to be so incredibly PICKY (he won't even eat fast food when he's out with his friends, LOL!!)! When the soup cools, I put portions in food saver bags, seal and freeze! You covered a lot of great things in this video! One thing I will add is there's an easier way to keep the peanut butter oil from separating, you just have to store the jar upside down! It will all mix up perfectly
PB hack… you don’t have to put it into a blender and get THAT all messy… I put my jar in the microwave just to heat it a little (to get soft) and then use a hand blender right in the jar! Same result, waaaaay easier and less messy! ♥️
My sister thought she was eating healthy and vegan and she wondered why she wasn’t losing weight. She asked me to critique her diet and showed me her daily food diary for a week. I saw she was consuming a lot of hidden oils. Store bought hummus, frozen things like plant based “chicken nuggets”, crackers with oils, tortilla chips with salsa, etc. I just told her to read, read, read labels on everything and watch out for all the oils.

I like to cut up all sorts of stuff and freeze it; minced ginger, diced onion & sliced, sweet peppers, diced and a separate bag of sliced, green onion, saves me a lot of time.

Thanks for watching! What are some Vegan Food hacks you use that I haven’t mentioned? We’d love to hear! 💥 Also video brain fart moment: Three bananas would be close to 210 calories (small to medium size) so one tbsp of oil would be equivalent to close to 2 bananas, again depending on the size you eat. Regardless, the point is, you can eat lots of real food that will fill your belly, for the same amount of 1 tbsp of oil that does nothing in the way of nutrition and fullness. Huge difference!
Thx for tips and encouragement that I’m not alone! This mama w/ fam of 6 plant based eaters sometimes needs to not feel like a freak🤣! When I often have avocado left I scoop out my portion and leave the pit in tact and put the 2 “shells” back together and place in baggie in fridge and this keeps great for days. I have also had great success leaving the pit in tact and placing plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the avocado and placing in the fridge and that way it keeps it from browning and keeps it fresh with the pit in place. Also a few drops of citrus before storing helps freshness❤️👍🏻
Hi 🙋🏾♀️ Yes the noodles freeze great I make them fresh and put it in a ziplock bag to freeze and whenever I want pasta for dinner then I just boil in hot water and it taste as fresh as you just made it that day.

If you want to ripen an avocado fast, put it in a paper bag (so it doesn't get mouldy) and also put in a banana. The banana produces a gas that will help ripen fruit.
👍Great tips, I've done some of these for years especially the "pantry chef". I've kept my pantry stocked with foods we always eat & based on meals we normallly eat. 😋 I have 3-6 months worth which is basically a peppers pantry. Lol 😆 I also have cooked rice in freezer at all times but to save $$ I just make a big batch in my instant pot, cool, and freeze in ziplic sandwich bags in 1 cup portions. So easy to throw in microwave with frozen veggies for a quick dinner. Also if you cook beans in instant pot you don't have to soak overnight. I make a pot every Sunday and freeze these beans in baggies too. 🍲

For the peanut butter issue, I mixed it up a bit, then made sure lid was on super tight before putting it in the pantry upside down. (I didn't have time to take it all out and blend it) Worked ok.
I love this hack with the mason jars and fruit! I put them in bowls now but I love the clear glass. I never heard of frozen rice. I will have to look for this. I used the veggie broth tip today when I sauteed veggies for dinner. OMG the tip with the peanut butter is amazing! I have always been a pantry chef but I need to overhaul my pantry now. Never tried freezing avocado.

Excellent video Tia and fantastic food hacks. I use canned beans a lot because dry beans take time to cook. I also love frozen vegetables because they last longer than fresh.
I have to share having a avocado only to find the half I didn’t eat a yuck brown and into my compost. The hack I learnt wrap your half avocado with a slice of onion on the exposed flesh and refrigerator. Two days later it’s still good.
You can also rub the surface with a lemon or lime and it won’t get brown. We use whatever is left from a lemon I squeezed for a dish or I always have some cut up in the fridge.
So I ran to the kitchen to try the PB hack with my immersion blender because I'm just too lazy to scrap the PB into a blender, scrap it back into the jar and then clean the blender. Total game changer!
Great ideas! I do many of them but still live your presentations! You can save the remainder of avocado in the fridge to use as normal by facing open halves together (as if whole) and placing in a small ziplock.
I only use peanut butter for cookies so maybe no cookie eaters here but, pour off extra oil (throw away) then blend in maple syrup and vanilla, blend it up (because now it’s easier on my very old vitamix) put back in jar and use for cookie making
Saw this being done on another channel, turn your jar of Peanut Butter upside for acouple of days, then without opening it, just shake jar, several times and it’s all mixed up. Wouldn’t have believed it, but it Worked Great!! I also had large jar as well.
Great hacks. FYI if you turn the jar of peanut butter upside down for 24 hours before you open it the oil will move to the bottom of the jar then you can easily mix it then store it in the fridge once you’ve mixed it. It won’t separate again.
Great tips. You can just vigorously stir the peanut butter in the jar and it stays creamy with less work and one less dish. If you turn the jar upside down when you bring it home it helps too.

OMG 😳, the blending of the peanut butter GENIUS 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻, I would get a long spoon and moosh the contents then put the jar in the cupboard upside down, but no more my friend. I have found frozen diced avocado at my grocery store (Kroger) which saves me the trouble of ripening & cutting. Plus, it’s a great option when avocados aren’t in season.
we take our peanut butter b4 you put it in the fridge and we do exactly that.. pour it in our stand mixer.. only we add 4 tablespoons of protein powder. we also do it with nutella and chocolate tahini. makes everything high protein and cuts down on the sugars. it does also help the PB stay smooth and beautiful. so much easier and less messy than trying to stir it in the jar. that never works.
A peanut butter hack from another RUclipsr (Simnett Nutrition) is to shake the jar of peanut butter hard, then turn the jar upside down and store in in the cabinet. The oil will rise again but it will be at the bottom of the jar, not at the top where the lid is. When you take the jar out of the cabinet, shake it again to redistribute the oil. That way the oil will blend from the bottom rather than you having to stir it from the top, which is messy as you say.
Good hacks. I do some of them but had never thought to freeze my own rice. Why not?! Lol. Also great idea for freezing avocados to add bulk to kids or hubby’s smoothie. I always try to find ways to do this so very helpful.
That blending peanut butter hack is AMAZING. Never heard of it. I thought you were going to mention the stirring lid kit they have. It's a lid that has a hole in the top, there's a stirring 'thing' (sorry, can't remember the name of it), you put it through the hole on the lid and turn the handle to stir. No spillovers. I don't have one because I don't eat the peanut butter (can't control myself with it) but when I DID eat it when I first transitioned over, I would stir up the peanut butter and store it upside down in the fridge. Only had to stir it once. But I think your blender hack is a MUCH better idea 😉
Could you please do a video on your gallbladder issues? That where I am now and I’m working on going full plant based but there are still so many foods like beans, broccoli ect that I can’t eat. I would love to hear your experiences. It sounds like you may have licked the issues.

I’ve been WFPB for a year and a half and had to have my gallbladder taken out 2 months ago-it had adhered itself to the fat on my liver (how gross is that!? ) and it was causing me a lot of pain so I didn’t really have a choice-remove it or suffer. The good news is, is that since I was already on a WFPB diet and mostly SOS free, I didn’t have to change any of my eating habits and I’ve had no other issues with my health😊.

Also if you let avocado's ripen at room temp and then place them in the fridge once they are ripe. they'll stay perfect for a couple weeks

Frozen pasta works great. All you need to do is put frozen pasta in strainer and run it under hot water and serve

I make a big pot of dried beans on the weekend and put some in the fridge and the rest in the freezer...just like your rice and grains!

We wash fruit in a 1:4 vinegar:water ratio when we get home. Let dry, and it will easily last 2x longer!

Put a slice of onion on top of the open flesh and refrigerator, it works.
I do cut mine like this and it helps. The best thing is leave the seed in and put the half in a bag or container. It will stay green for a day or two

PB- we find simply stirring new jar of all nat PB until oil is reabsorbed / homogenous and then keeping in fridge works like a charm ❤️❤️❤️
When making any meal when possible-go ahead and double the amount and freeze. Works for pancakes; waffles, pasta, muffins, rice, soups, chili, sloppy Joe lentils, pbj’s for kids etc.
Hi Tia! I have another peanut butter hack that I got from Simnett Nutrition! When you bring your jar of peanut butter home with the oil floating on the top, put it upside down (sit it on the lid in the cabinet). In a day or two it will all have sunk down the sides of the jar to the top. Then, all you have to do is vigorously shake it and it stays mixed! I couldn’t believe it when he said it - but it works!
I have been a pantry chef for quite some time and most would consider me "OCD" about it, LOL!! All my grains/beans/fruits etc. are in WECK jars. I converted my dining room into a master pantry area, with stainless steel racks for all my equipment, pots/pans, dried goods, etc. To me, it is such a fun and organized way to be creative. I have actually been remodeling/creating pantry areas for friends. Also, I make homemade everything and soup is one of my son's favorite. He happens to be so incredibly PICKY (he won't even eat fast food when he's out with his friends, LOL!!)! When the soup cools, I put portions in food saver bags, seal and freeze! I LOVE your PB2 idea and I'm going to try it! Thank you ALWAYS, Tia! I LOVE all your ideas and creative ways. You are adorable and such an inspiration!

You covered a lot of great things in this video! One thing I will add is there's an easier way to keep the peanut butter oil from separating, you just have to store the jar upside down! It will all mix up perfectly
PB hack… you don’t have to put it into a blender and get THAT all messy… I put my jar in the microwave just to heat it a little (to get soft) and then use a hand blender right in the jar! Same result, waaaaay easier and less messy! ♥️
My sister thought she was eating healthy and vegan and she wondered why she wasn’t losing weight. She asked me to critique her diet and showed me her daily food diary for a week. I saw she was consuming a lot of hidden oils. Store bought hummus, frozen things like plant based “chicken nuggets”, crackers with oils, tortilla chips with salsa, etc. I just told her to read, read, read labels on everything and watch out for all the oils.
That’s great advice. I bet you’ve helped her tremendously.

Here’s my PB hack. The oil is conveniently separated to where I just dump it off before stirring. Super simple and no one in my family of 7 notices a thing!

I like to cut up all sorts of stuff and freeze it; minced ginger, diced onion & sliced, sweet peppers, diced and a separate bag of sliced, green onion, saves me a lot of time.

You can also mix leftover avocado into salsa and the acid helps make it last longer and makes salsa creamy 😋

💥 Also video brain fart moment: Three bananas would be close to 210 calories (small to medium size) so one tbsp of oil would be equivalent to close to 2 bananas, again depending on the size you eat. Regardless, the point is, you can eat lots of real food that will fill your belly, for the same amount of 1 tbsp of oil that does nothing in the way of nutrition and fullness. Huge difference!
I stir my peanutbutter. Then store it upside down. Works!
Thx for tips and encouragement that I’m not alone! This mama w/ fam of 6 plant based eaters sometimes needs to not feel like a freak🤣! When I often have avocado left I scoop out my portion and leave the pit in tact and put the 2 “shells” back together and place in baggie in fridge and this keeps great for days. I have also had great success leaving the pit in tact and placing plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the avocado and placing in the fridge and that way it keeps it from browning and keeps it fresh with the pit in place. Also a few drops of citrus before storing helps freshness❤️👍🏻
Hi 🙋🏾♀️ Yes the noodles freeze great I make them fresh and put it in a ziplock bag to freeze and whenever I want pasta for dinner then I just boil in hot water and it taste as fresh as you just made it that day.

I cook my dried beans without soaking and cook about 40 min in the instant pot until desired tenderness. Love your videos.
If you want to ripen an avocado fast, put it in a paper bag (so it doesn't get mouldy) and also put in a banana.
The banana produces a gas that will help ripen fruit.

I have 3-6 months worth which is basically a peppers pantry. Lol 😆
I also have cooked rice in freezer at all times but to save $$ I just make a big batch in my instant pot, cool, and freeze in ziplic sandwich bags in 1 cup portions. So easy to throw in microwave with frozen veggies for a quick dinner.
Also if you cook beans in instant pot you don't have to soak overnight. I make a pot every Sunday and freeze these beans in baggies too. 🍲
You could cook potatoes, cut them up and freeze them

For the peanut butter issue, I mixed it up a bit, then made sure lid was on super tight before putting it in the pantry upside down. (I didn't have time to take it all out and blend it) Worked ok.
I love this hack with the mason jars and fruit! I put them in bowls now but I love the clear glass. I never heard of frozen rice. I will have to look for this. I used the veggie broth tip today when I sauteed veggies for dinner. OMG the tip with the peanut butter is amazing! I have always been a pantry chef but I need to overhaul my pantry now. Never tried freezing avocado.

I have to share having a avocado only to find the half I didn’t eat a yuck brown and into my compost.
The hack I learnt wrap your half avocado with a slice of onion on the exposed flesh and refrigerator. Two days later it’s still good.

You can also rub the surface with a lemon or lime and it won’t get brown. We use whatever is left from a lemon I squeezed for a dish or I always have some cut up in the fridge.
So I ran to the kitchen to try the PB hack with my immersion blender because I'm just too lazy to scrap the PB into a blender, scrap it back into the jar and then clean the blender. Total game changer!

Great ideas! I do many of them but still live your presentations! You can save the remainder of avocado in the fridge to use as normal by facing open halves together (as if whole) and placing in a small ziplock.

I only use peanut butter for cookies so maybe no cookie eaters here but, pour off extra oil (throw away) then blend in maple syrup and vanilla, blend it up (because now it’s easier on my very old vitamix) put back in jar and use for cookie making

Saw this being done on another channel, turn your jar of Peanut Butter upside for acouple of days, then without opening it, just shake jar, several times and it’s all mixed up. Wouldn’t have believed it, but it Worked Great!! I also had large jar as well.

Great hacks. FYI if you turn the jar of peanut butter upside down for 24 hours before you open it the oil will move to the bottom of the jar then you can easily mix it then store it in the fridge once you’ve mixed it. It won’t separate again.
Great tips. You can just vigorously stir the peanut butter in the jar and it stays creamy with less work and one less dish. If you turn the jar upside down when you bring it home it helps too.

I have found frozen diced avocado at my grocery store (Kroger) which saves me the trouble of ripening & cutting. Plus, it’s a great option when avocados aren’t in season.

we take our peanut butter b4 you put it in the fridge and we do exactly that.. pour it in our stand mixer.. only we add 4 tablespoons of protein powder. we also do it with nutella and chocolate tahini. makes everything high protein and cuts down on the sugars. it does also help the PB stay smooth and beautiful. so much easier and less messy than trying to stir it in the jar. that never works.
All of these are such wonderful hacks!! I will be applying these to my vegan journey. This saves a lot of time and money. Thank you!!!

A peanut butter hack from another RUclipsr (Simnett Nutrition) is to shake the jar of peanut butter hard, then turn the jar upside down and store in in the cabinet. The oil will rise again but it will be at the bottom of the jar, not at the top where the lid is. When you take the jar out of the cabinet, shake it again to redistribute the oil. That way the oil will blend from the bottom rather than you having to stir it from the top, which is messy as you say.

That blending peanut butter hack is AMAZING. Never heard of it. I thought you were going to mention the stirring lid kit they have. It's a lid that has a hole in the top, there's a stirring 'thing' (sorry, can't remember the name of it), you put it through the hole on the lid and turn the handle to stir. No spillovers. I don't have one because I don't eat the peanut butter (can't control myself with it) but when I DID eat it when I first transitioned over, I would stir up the peanut butter and store it upside down in the fridge. Only had to stir it once. But I think your blender hack is a MUCH better idea 😉

I’ve been WFPB for a year and a half and had to have my gallbladder taken out 2 months ago-it had adhered itself to the fat on my liver (how gross is that!? ) and it was causing me a lot of pain so I didn’t really have a choice-remove it or suffer. The good news is, is that since I was already on a WFPB diet and mostly SOS free, I didn’t have to change any of my eating habits and I’ve had no other issues with my health😊.
