My plan for my future marriage to have no TV in the house. I grew up that way. I live with my parents we now have a TV, but I rarely watch it. I might also want to get rid of my Facebook when I get married, but for now I'm keeping it. No wonder the Amish have such good families.
Love you guys! I always share all of your post and videos! I am a strong defender of marriage and there are so many people who need these little bits of wisdom! Thank you for your service! :) blessings to you both!
Kelly, Great question! I'd find the setting where he's most comfortable to communication. Maybe it's driving in the car or maybe it's at the kitchen table or on a walk, but find (or create) a setting where he's most likely to open up and not shut down.
We have the same issue w/ my husband. sometimes it feels like he did something wrong and he's guilty. He is just a quiet and private person & at times he is like that to me even I'm his wife. But I prayed for it & as I tried to talk to him slowly & calmly, it shows improvement. I'm glad that at least now he is a bit open whenever there is something that I want us to talk. Never turn off the tv, & never push him. Try it after eating meals, sitting in d park or before going to sleep. just sharing
Valid point, but isn't a little ironic that marriage advice for carving out time to talk to one another was recorded on a "date night". It doesn't seem like such a great date if you couldn't wait to record the advice about putting away your iphone on your iphone while you were on a date night.
I was married just over 2 years. We have a 2 year old now. 2 months after she divorced me, she remarried. Her new husband is in the military. Now what. I have nothing.
