I'm afraid I have to disagree with some of this but I'll go with the probability that I am the exception, not the rule. My husband and I do not have this issue. When I'm asked where I want to go to eat, I truly don't care and I'm fine with letting him choose. If I have a hankering for something, I'll let him know up front. Quality time is one of my love languages so as long as I get face to face time-no phones, I'm good! Same with paint colors. He said at the beginning of our marriage, "I trust you to choose what looks good inside of our house-I get my garage!" As for the ice cream? I'm with you, Dave!

Men are not mind reader's. We need to tell them the couple of places and let them pick, or just compromise.

Absolutely, universally true. From the plains of America......to the Swiss Alps.........to the sands of the Sahara. In addition, the daily..........what do you want for supper???? Maybe I'm looking at it wrong. Maybe these things are the actual glue that holds a marriage together. Or NOT. Hilarious.

Hahahaha lovely, mine is narcissist and av just realised recently 21 years into it and he must have his way period. I dont exist to him. Am down with s muscle weakness due to the undue stress av had to endure. Abuse is extented to the children which he dint want in the first place but I dint know the reason then. I covet your prayers coz in my part of the world narcissism awareness is not yet here. People dont understand emotional and mental abuse. Trusting God for leading and direction.

No... This is a game, mind reading, and manipulative. If she can't make up her mind when you ask her, pick a restaurant and go to it. If she doesn't like your choice, too bad. You can certainly serve your wife in a godly way, but your advice is emasculating and enabling. This contrary to Jimmy Evans sermons. Emotional health seeks emotional health. Is she a grown woman or child?

YEEEEEESSSSS!!!! Exactly what I think!! Just pick a place and don’t even tell her! Don’t be a child!!

exactly, and compromise goes both ways this whole deferring to your wife in everything is ridiculous and narcissistic.

Guys aren't dumb for wanting to have a say to the colour of their house or the restaurant they'll be eating stop calling guys dumb over this. Compromise is a two way street not one spouse (in this case the husband) having to defer to the other spouse for everything and if you can't see this then you are a narcissist.

You can win some battles and lose the war. Or lose a few battles and win the war (a happy marriage).

Miles Rains why cant both parties win? Which is what im going on about... why does one (the husband) have to loose to have a happy marriage??
