TMNT was such a good movie for people who wanted a more serious tone for the turtles. The scene with Raphael and Leonardo is incredible. Wish they kept making movies in that art style and timeline.
Same here. This was my introduction to the TMNT franchise and years later I discovered the original black and white comics that had a similar tone of this film, since the film was using the original source material.
"You're so smug you know that, you think the world revolves around you, oh the mighty Leonardo to help us through our missions huh, well I got a news flash for you, we did just fine without you..." "You call this fine? Dressing like it's Halloween every night, risking the safety of our family, I mean what were you thinking?" "Face it Leo, you don't just get to come back here and give us orders like your little soldiers.." "I was training, training to be a better leader for you, why do you hate me for that?" "And whO SAID I WANTED TO BE LEAD!" immaculate dialogue, tension, voice acting, and scenery, the red diner logo with Raph in the suit yelling was so visually appealing and satisfying
I would've liked a sequel to TMNT 2007. A lot of people say that it has ties to the 90s movies, but I (along with some others) prefer to think the 2007 movie exists in its own continuity separate from the others. Someone else said those things (like the time scepter & The Shredder's helmet & mask) were just Easter eggs that don't mean anything. Seeing the 2007 TMNT fight The Shredder would've been awesome to see.
The Triceratons and the Ninja Tribunal exist in this continuity, since they were in the prequel comics. So it's safe to say this is its own timeline that takes elements from other preexisting ones

Taking care of a baby girl named Shadow who was his wife’s child from another guy (she was pregnant when she and Casey met and was only a few weeks in) 4. From what I gathered Casey and April didn’t become a couple. And to be fair I don’t like this pairing at all but the 2007 TMNT film was the only time I tolerate both Capril ship and Casey (not a huge fan of him)

I want to see a sequel still happen but as a direct to video movie, they can still get the director and all the cast back except for Splinter (RIP Mako😔) and I know that Imagi is no more but they should get another animation studio who can pull off the same quality as imagi, maybe Marza Animation Planet (Lupin the 3rd the first) or Polygon Pictures (Transformers Prime) would be a good fit for it.
What a shame! I watched the TMNT 2007 movie on cinema when I was 13, I loved it and Mikey too, he is my favorite. I would have liked to see a sequel with him trying to save his family and see something else than just the comic relief; perhaps we would have seen a little more mature Mikey.
You should read the original comics by Laird and Eastman. Sure he still was the lovable goofy ball but when it came down to it, he was a force to be reckoned with (even Ralph knew not to mess with him). He was such a warrior that sometimes I got him and Ralph mixed up 🤣
I agree with you. Mikey is the most insightful character I love. Of course there's more to him than being the comedy relief, and it's a shame you don't get to see more to his character. A sequel would've really hit home.

With the first film having a focus on Leo and Raph the idea of focusing the next two films on Mikey and Don is a good idea. My biggest problem with TMNT is that half of the tutles get the spotlight. Mikey and Don are just sorta not that important to the film.
Studio executives are so stupid. That trilogy idea would now be legendary if they’d been actually made. Especially that final one with Mikey joining the Foot. The 2012 Nick series did kill Splinter off in the final season and those episodes were truly memorable especially how he dies. Here’s to hoping Seth Rogen and that team pull off something special and fun for 2023, and not hideous and pervy (freakin Michael Bay).
A sequel with Shredder and another one with the Rat King would’ve been sick! The first one is a little scary and disturbing. The shredder art looks REALLY scary and his eyes just staring look real creepy. That would’ve been cool to have had a sequel with those two villains.
We could have a great follow-up to the 2007 film since they put more emphasis on Leonardo and Raphael. The next one would be about Michelangelo and the last part will be about Donatello. It's a shame with the sequels being cancelled and Imagi animation closed down we are left with inly our imagination on what could've been.
It's those kind of things I hate. Nobody wants to be left wondering what could've been. Believe me. I get it and it's a feeling of let down we don't want. Even if life is unfair that way.
Wish they would’ve allowed him to continue forward with these movies. If you watch TMNT with the commentary on you can really hear how much if a genuine fan he is of ninja turtles and really wanted to make it as good as he could make it.
I've seen that movie when I was little like 5 and I have rewatch it in 2017 I always wondered about why they didn't make a sequel I would have loved it. ☺️😩
I love the original (still my favorite), but the 2007 animated movie is my second favorite. It was left open perfectly for a sequel involving Shredders return. It would have been interesting to see how they developed Karai more as well. And then a third involving the Triceratons? I need these sequels…….. are it happen, whoever.
i wish this story arc would have continued...I like that movie it's a solid and faithful representation of the turtles and the mature-ish tone was good for young and older audiences. Oh well, let's just keep juggling TMNT movies every few years with lackluster attempts at cash grabs
The 2007 TMNT movie just needed better villains and it would be better remembered. A movie with the triceratops invading would have been really cool though
I'm on a bit of a TMNT high right now with recently watching the new film and going back to the classics and I've never scene this video before. It's a shame it never got the sequel it deserved because i definitely think it is at least one of the most underrated films in the franchise. But I did want to say... this 5:24 might be the first time ever that Shredder has actually looked scary. I mean the way he blends into the background that nice looking helmet but especially those EYES those yellow eyes just piercing down at Michelangelo. He actually looks fucken scary. I would have loved to see this brought to the screen. But it's just another drop in the ocean of missed opportunities in media.
I would've liked to see a sequel of TMNT and I believe it would've been great. I love the idea of it being about Michelangelo and seeing his personal growth as well because we all know there's more to his character than everyone thinks they see, but aren't seeing, if you know what I mean. I do feel let down in the old TMNT movie where you don't see a footage clip of Mikey punching a punching bag; that would've been great and it's a real shame it got cut out. Stuff like that is just unfair. It's a total let down when they do stuff like that and it makes me not look forward to seeing nothing you are looking forward to.
I seem to remember at the time multiple pitches were being made for the sequel, and there was a LOT of gridlock, because Weinstein being Weinstein wanted it to be a goofy comedy and Laird refused it. I'm sure the more dark and serious storylines were pitched at some point, but that's the report I remember reading back then. I'd guess that those more serious lines were passed aside for something goofy and kid friendly. And I would have hazarded a guess that if ANY TMNT sequel were made, Imagi studio would have at least had the capital and backing of major studios to stay in business longer than the complete shit-show behind the scenes of Astroboy that killed the studio. Would you believe they almost made a Gatchaman movie? No. Not Battle of the Planets. They planned on calling it Gatchaman. Paul Dini supposedly wrote a pass at the script.
TMNT 2007 isn't a great movie but there's some stuff about it I really love, And the ideas for the sequels focusing on Mikey and Donnie would've been cool since they didn't really do much in the first one
That's interesting. There was an episode of the 87 series that shared a similar idea where Shredder had a serum made that turned Raph, Leo and Donnie into young children while Michealangelo had to take care of them. And if he didn't get them the cure within the next twenty-four hours than they would have turned into eggs and would dematerialize.
In the very first movie my theory was Mikey was the strongest. Only not taking serious due to his childlike ways . Yet in the training scene at the farm...He battling 3 vs 1 working his bros lol ...but mostly vs Shredder you didn't see his scene fighting shredder but you heard it from below as we see Jones . Mikey fought longer than his brother who lasted only 3 seconds
I’m really late but I totally remember TMNT 2007 doing crazy well on demand. That’s where I watched it instead of the theaters. Could be an explanation of why it didn’t do well in DVD sales. Only could’ve happened in that couple months of time that Comcast’s on demand was seen as a cool new thing that was better than going to the theater
We need more of the crossover TMNT the 2003 and the 1980's and the 2012 cartoons in one big Movie, it will be like Turtles forever 2. to Save the Multiverse again. what do you think ?
@@UltimateDragonX9999 that may be true, but why is it that they made astroboy, when there are other better projects for them to work on? It just makes no sense.
Got to say it always seems like the creators always want to make Michaelangelo even if the goofy one, always have this path of his own down the road. Even in the tv series 2003 series, "The same as it never was" michealangelo continued to be a Ninja even without an arm and half an eye gone but he became mature in his 30s or so. the same again in 2012 series when you look at him there, later in the future 30 years down the line he is again alone, sporting the black bandanna and on his own still as a Ninja but more powerful thanks to his ultrainstincts guiding him. He is literally the idea of "looks can be deceiving" seeing how even Splinter had said that Michelangelo is the most capable and more likely to even become a master if only he was more focused and more mature he'd be even stronger. Not sure if the reason they choose to make Mikey this way because of either he doesn't want his brothers to feel outclassed, or if he really just has a child-like heart and rather be goofy then serious but when it's time to be serious he is always seemingly on his own or the last one standing. he has a wonderful arch to himself since throughout his time with his brothers always being picked on and always being made fun of, yet he has the greatest chances of being a master than the rest of them even Leonardo even if Splinter says Mikey and Leo are on par with each other on their profession but it seems even Mikey could potentially out beat his own brother if he really wanted too. I wish they really did make a side series of Michelangelo even if it would be a bit more on the darker side showing that to his brothers he's stronger than they all realize him to be. And going off on his own to learn and grow and be his own master at the arts of whatever he wishes to be. And coming back as that wise master itself while the others are (and always have been) stuck in their own ways. but unfortunately no we don't get that lol
o man really tragic the sequels never came to fruition.!! damn and i really liked that imagi studios idea of mikey centered storyline.!! that artwork was cool. shredder lookin scary n creepy af. the imagi designs of tmnt are perfect...its sad they went out like that. 2007 TMNT movie is definitely among my favs in the franchise. havent really been hyped for turtles stuff since. well ok the 2003 and 2012 animated ones were good too...lolz. but not into the rise of series. totally passed on all of that. but yeah the ronin arc is damn good though. hope that gets adapted into some animated form sometime as well. and looking foward to see what rogen does with tmnt. hope its worthy. long live the turtle ninjas!! 👊🐢😃
I would've loved a sequal to TMNT 2007 cause it's my favorite TMNT movie, however the plot being Mikey joining foot clan... Nah. Understandable for him not to feel equal to his brothers but to join the murderous evil crew, that wouldn't be Mikey.
I loved the movie as a kid, and still do If a sequel did happen i think it could be a pretty easy sequel, with the passing of a Splinter happening, it could create a new kind of dysfunction between the turtles, and then have the return of the Shredder, possibly have him invade their home and take his mask back, which leads then to relocate and seek help from the foot, and Shredder could get shit done by himself, which could be refreshing, but regardless, i think a sequel would of been great
Yeah TMNT 2007 was one of my favorite ninja turtles movies ever and I did learned TMNT 2007 sequels have number two Michelangelo wearing a black bandanna joins the foot and the ninja turtles see the return of shredder and third features the Triceratons and the technodorme with Donatello be a slave from dimension X. And These sequels didn’t happened if those sequels had made also Kevin munroe ninja turtles movies would be his greatest work 🥷🥷🥷🐢🐢🐢🐢🍕🍕🍕
Also a good thing Kevin munroe did pick triceratons have never done in a tmnt movie and hope if the triceratons be in tmnt movie reboot live action or cgi movie 🥷🥷🐢🐢🐢🐢🍕🍕🍕
I wish we would have gotten a 2007 movie sequel I saw it in theaters on opening weekend and I think the shredder would have looked awesome in that art style and I wish I could have seen official. Concept art of him and this next movie that never happened
I thought it was some fan who created the poster and slipped it to the creators office, at least that's what I've read in multiple articles but who knows. Sad that we won't get the sequel tho...😔
The cgi animation here still seems sub par compared to the 1990 live action Movie TMNT. So, if they're gonna scrape together to create a budget for a turtle movie, I'd prefer them going back there. The first live action TMNT movie is the most memorable, celebrated and talked about movie of them all. Why don't they start here and build backwards perhaps making a 3 trilogy prequel, centered around Splinter the pet rat , his master Yoshi, the foot clan and Oroku Saki. Deeply exploring their origins in a more slower paced story building up to Splinters transition with his master from Japan to NY as well as his coming into contact with the turtles. The story's pacing should be so slow that the end credits should be the turtles finally coming into contact with the mutagen. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 The second film should center around family and their slow transformation causing them to grow like humans, and splinter embracing the ideology of him being a father to these newly intellectual child like creatures. Splinters concerns now that he's no longer thinking from the perspective of a rat but instead he's now self aware and possessing the sense of a human he then goes to the service and learns through way hong tv through the glass window of a department store and he learns how to spell and read books to which he studies deeply. Their transformation pacing should be about the same as Caesar's in "Dawn of the planet of the Apes" the climax to the second film should end with Leonardo being the first of the turtles to say his first word. By the third film their speech should be a slowly paced progression allowing the audience to fully appreciate the dynamics of real turtles learning how to talk like humans. They should also begin their ninjutsu training by the third film and by the end of the movie they should've fully grown up into teenagers looking exactly like themselves in the 1990 TMNT film.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
wait, I thought TMNT was part of the live action movies. if you see the ending when they put night watchers helmet you the time travel staff in back. or was am I wrong?
Why the TMNT 2007 sequel was canceled and why imagi studio went out of business in February 2010 why did went out of business didn't get bankrupt or computer malfunction or something
no what happened was after the 2003 show downfall with FF and BTTS(which I liked those seasons), then imagi studios died after their movie, AStro Boy(good movie ) bombed so hard it made them bankrupt and laird was so drained out after this and losing his best friend, He sold it to them after all this@@Noahmediacorner

Damn, as a Mikey fan it's super dissapointing this never happened cause I would have eaten it up
TMNT 2007 isn't a great movie but there's some stuff about it I really love, And the ideas for the sequels focusing on Mikey and Donnie would've been cool since they didn't really do much in the first one
I think I remember that
I also remember a episode where Leo and Mikey turned into kids and Raph and Donnie had to watch them
In the very first movie my theory was Mikey was the strongest.
I always loved this film and was sad it didn't get a sequel. It doesn't get the praise it deserves in the TMNT community in my opinion.
I really like this movie. Wish it got more love.
The promo picture looked soooo dope. Why couldn’t this have happened?!?
Dude, looks like the TMNT 2 cover art was leading to " The Last Ronin"
We need more of the crossover TMNT the 2003 and the 1980's and the 2012 cartoons in one big Movie, it will be like Turtles forever 2.
to Save the Multiverse again. what do you think ?
I would definitely watch that
Warner Bros. Should Never Cancelled TMNT 2007 Sequel 2 And 3
Imagina Se Tivesse? Todas As Sequências, Da Tmnt 2007! Seria, Daora Demais, Mano.
they didn't , imagi went down badly
Would of loved to see that movie
Awe man how come these sequels never happened?
Studio got shut down
@@Cherryarzorbit’s because the 2009 Astro boy film bomb at the box office which is why they went bankrupt.
@@UltimateDragonX9999 that may be true, but why is it that they made astroboy, when there are other better projects for them to work on? It just makes no sense.
I always thaught I didn’t like the movie but it really catches my attention every time and I watch the full thing and end up loving it
I didnt know there was going to be a 2007 tmnt sequel i wish it was made
Got to say it always seems like the creators always want to make Michaelangelo even if the goofy one, always have this path of his own down the road.
I would've loved to see a sequel to the 2007 film.
They should do a tv show with these turtles
THAT SHIT WOULD'VE BEEN FIRE
o man really tragic the sequels never came to fruition.!! damn and i really liked that imagi studios idea of
mikey centered storyline.!! that artwork was cool. shredder lookin scary n creepy af. the imagi designs
of tmnt are perfect...its sad they went out like that. 2007 TMNT movie is definitely among my favs in the franchise.
havent really been hyped for turtles stuff since. well ok the 2003 and 2012 animated ones were good too...lolz.
but not into the rise of series. totally passed on all of that. but yeah the ronin arc is damn good though.
hope that gets adapted into some animated form sometime as well. and looking foward to see what rogen
does with tmnt. hope its worthy. long live the turtle ninjas!! 👊🐢😃
It surprises me how they WAS gonna be a sequel but it never happen so that was a great review. :D
I think that poster looks creepy mostly cause it’s shrouded in darkness and the glimpse at Shredder’s eye makes it look chilling.
I would've loved a sequal to TMNT 2007 cause it's my favorite TMNT movie, however the plot being Mikey joining foot clan... Nah. Understandable for him not to feel equal to his brothers but to join the murderous evil crew, that wouldn't be Mikey.
I loved the movie as a kid, and still do
If a sequel did happen i think it could be a pretty easy sequel, with the passing of a Splinter happening, it could create a new kind of dysfunction between the turtles, and then have the return of the Shredder, possibly have him invade their home and take his mask back, which leads then to relocate and seek help from the foot, and Shredder could get shit done by himself, which could be refreshing, but regardless, i think a sequel would of been great
Though if they had killed off splinter in the TMNT 2007 sequel, then I’m glad they didn’t get a sequel.
Wish it Happend
Another movie would have made this story complete. Maybe it can have a comic book ending like Buffy did.. Since Buffy is April 😂
And These sequels didn’t happened if those sequels had made also Kevin munroe ninja turtles movies would be his greatest work 🥷🥷🥷🐢🐢🐢🐢🍕🍕🍕
Also a good thing Kevin munroe did pick triceratons have never done in a tmnt movie and hope if the triceratons be in tmnt movie reboot live action or cgi movie 🥷🥷🐢🐢🐢🐢🍕🍕🍕
this movie should've had at least 3 sequels needs a return fr
In rise of TMNT There's a reference to the original TMNT comics and 1887 TMNT cartoon , 2012 TMNT cartoon
Imagi was supposed to do a mirage retelling of issue 1 but the made it into the movie we got with 13 monsters stone warriors and max winters
I wish we would have gotten a 2007 movie sequel I saw it in theaters on opening weekend and I think the shredder would have looked awesome in that art style and I wish I could have seen official. Concept art of him and this next movie that never happened
I hope we still get a sequel to the 2007 version of TMNT
Even with or without imagi studios?
I had a green box for secret of the ooze. But it had the behind the shell VHS as well
I thought it was some fan who created the poster and slipped it to the creators office, at least that's what I've read in multiple articles but who knows. Sad that we won't get the sequel tho...😔
I wanted more of this greatness. We were robbed.
I'm still salty that TMNT didn't get a sequel but the Michael Bay movie did.
I played the game on ps2
What sucks is Kirai hinted that Shredder is returning after their win.
I'd much rather this have happened than the Bay films
There was another sequel planned to explore DIMENSION X
Funnily enough I had three copies of TMNT, I don’t know why though
aren't they making a sequel this year i swear i saw an article
I think imagi studios was been shut down!
They really had a sequel!? Why they canceled it??
Look at Wikipedia that will be your answer
We kinda got the sequel with mikey being the last turtle
Can anyone point me to which video talks about the Michaelangelo cutout he talks about at the end of this video??
2007 TMNT is better than anything thats come out since on screens.
(2012 tv series had a great story)
TMNT 2007 should have gotten a sequel.
I find this movie mid. So I wasn't really sad it didn't get a sequel. Especially knowing it's death led to better interpretations.
We need a tmnt2 of the 07 film
wait, I thought TMNT was part of the live action movies. if you see the ending when they put night watchers helmet you the time travel staff in back. or was am I wrong?
TMNT did hinted Shredder would return.
We were robbed
Why the TMNT 2007 sequel was canceled and why imagi studio went out of business in February 2010 why did went out of business didn't get bankrupt or computer malfunction or something
no astor boy flopped and made with weinstein company( weinstein is a pedo/r@pist) caued imagi to die
I love the 2007 movie soooo much I'm not joking 😍
I hope someone find infos of the sequel of Astro Boy movie from the same company who made the TMNT movie.
I would have loved to seen this
I only had the first two as a kid I never bought 3 on vhs because I hated it after seeing it at the movies.
Nickelodeon and paramount should make a sequel
Knowing nickelodeon they might tone down the well, y'know
@@Naiverine the story?
I like it they shuld make a 2 and 3
Probably because Nickelodeon acquired the franchise to make a 2012 animated series and there making the live action movie in 2014
no imagi died
@@albertwesker4729 what
no what happened was after the 2003 show downfall with FF and BTTS(which I liked those seasons), then imagi studios died after their movie, AStro Boy(good movie ) bombed so hard it made them bankrupt and laird was so drained out after this and losing his best friend, He sold it to them after all this@@Noahmediacorner
It would've been one of the best TMNT movies if they just omitted the whole gods thing and stuck to just foot clan and the turtles.
TMNT was amazing it should have had its trilogy. Instead we get that Michael Bay bullshit.
Ciao sono io c'è un cosa che o dimenticato di dirti e probabile che shredder non è morto e ritornera in tmnt 2
