      I thought the same thing while that show was still airing, Mighty Mutanimals would have made an interesting spin off with the interesting group they had that time, and the return appearance of Pidgeon Pete at Splinter's funeral up in Northampton at the end of season 4 and the addition of Mona Lisa to the group in season 5 seemed like suggestions that it would happen, but nope. I also thought that a spin off for Usagi Yojimbo would have been interesting and kind of cool. Seeing what further adventures Usagi-san could have had in his continued journey could have been awesome. * sigh * Oh well. 😐

    I really like the Mirage design especially since Mirage TMNT is my favorite version of the Turtles. I would love to have an adult cartoon or live-action series that is more like the Mirage comics. Ever since the 1987 cartoon, the turtles have mostly been family-friendly and far goofier than the Mirage version. I still love the 87, 2003, 2012, and 1990 versions though. I just want something that is much closer to the Mirage comics that isn't meant for kids is all.

    I had no idea Ruby-Spears was almost gonna make a 'Mighty Mutanimals' show. How could they have done that with Fred Wolf Films still producing the original 'TMNT' series? I know Ruby-Spears was originally an offshoot of Hanna-Barbera since Joe Ruby, and Ken Spears originally started working for H-B before they formed their own studio, but by the 90's, Ruby-Spears sort of branched off on their own producing the 90's 'Mega Man' cartoon, and the obscure 'Sky Surfer Stryke Forse'. That just blows my mind.

    One thing to note here. Is the Mighty Mutanimals Series would've featured Ninjara as one of the members. She was a popular character from the TMNT Archie Comics. She was Raph's Girlfriend in the Comics. Even though he was paired with Mona Lisa in the original series. But in the comics she and Raph developed a romantic relationship that lasted for several issues.

  • @moonknight1016

    Turtles babysitting themselves 😂 actually, that doesn't sound like a bad idea, well at least for the plot. For the show itself, yeah no. But anyways imagine what would happen if the present turtles gave knowledge of the present to past versions of themselves, they would literally rewrite their own history and get a MASSIVE power-up of knowledge and skill.Ultimately making the better versions of themselves.
    Edit: 2001 TMNT got turned into 2003 version. I would LOVE if someone made Mighty Mutanimals Series, but one based on IDW Comic version. Those ones are lit, legit made wars in comics. Ol' Hob had a HUGE character development arc in the comics. The writers knew what they were doing.

    • @NewCanada
      @NewCanada 4 года назад +3

      I would hardly call it balanced since it was 99% comedy and not very good comedy at that. There's hardly any action in the 87 cartoon except for the first 5 episodes. As time went on the action became less and less until it got to the point where the turtles never used their weapons. I guess this makes sense once you find out that the writers only had experience writing comedy shows and not action shows.

  • @Masterge77
    @Masterge77 4 года назад +3

    Overload is basically Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time, but with the Ninja Turtles. That game literally did the same thing as they tried to do here, which makes me glad it was never done. There apparently was another attempt to make a Mighty Mutanimals series in the 2010's as a companion series to the 2012 Ninja Turtles series, but it was also never made.
    Also, is that Ninjara I see in the Mighty Mutanimals pitch? I imagine that could be Alopex in a more "current" version of this story.

    As far as 2001-era CGI goes, that Rainbow Studios project didn't look half bad.

    TMNT Overload is something I'm glad didn't happen. Its bad enough that its cliche, the idea of turtles fighting kids in a kids show is a terrible idea that I do not look forward to having to explain to my nephews.

    a lineup of BTAS, x-men and That wb tmnt would have been awesome. the 1980s cartoon just doesn't hold up as after reading the comics, plus when i watched I was like 6

    #1 I mean I kinda like the anime-inspired look of the younger turtles but otherwise... IDK. not sure I'll miss it. #2 damn and that one had the look closest to the OG mirage comics it could have been an original take on the series! #3 I'm surprised a show like that didn't exist back then they had so many extra characters by that point they could've easily pulled off something like that!! #5 I'm not sure how I would've felt about that one... but I did like the shredder design (assuming that's the same as the one from the first one? or at least very similar)

    TMNT Overload is intriguing. I can kinda see it as being a bit like Bayonetta where she teams up with a little girl who (SPOILERS) turns out to be her own past self and she ends up accidentally influencing herself to become who she is in the present day.
    But knowing 4Kids, they would've just made this into really childish shenanigans with no development to "appeal to the kids", ending up as yet again wasted potential.

    I honestly think the one with the turtle tots could have been pretty interesting, but I'm very happy with the Back To The Sewer season. Though, looking at back at the many flashback episodes there's been, it was probably best to scrap the idea of the turtles working with their younger selves

    TMNT Overload would have quickly cancelled the 2003 series at the last minute. At least Back to the Sewers lasted longer before it was finally canned.

    I'd trade the bay movies, rise and idw comics after issue 100th for a few 2001 episodes just for what you showed. But I also resent that that pitch prevented us from having accurate 2003 figures.

    Yeah. Those TMNT seasons 4Kids threatened to produce. There was also one where they were in some super hero dimension for some reason, like that one alternate universe episode from 2K3 where Mikey landed. And the whole series was to be sold by an online trading card game, kinda like what they did with Chaotic. Then there was a full on reboot series that drew inspiration from the Archie comics TMNT where Splinter was back to being a mutated human, as opposed to Yoshi's pet rat. Actually, that one would have been great, and somehow seems to be what we wound up getting with the Nickelodeon series. But the super hero series and the Overload concept. No. There was that one episode of BTTS, Incredible Shrinking Serling, that seems like it could have been an indication what that show could have been like. It was a BAD episode, the kid turtles were obnoxious and bratty, just all over a sign we dodged one shell of a bullet.
    So we got BTTS as a place holder, Playmates screwed up the toyline, everything was sold to Viacom, and the rest is history.

    Turtles Overload sounds like it could've had good potential as a serious show, but looks like a goofy comedy and not in a good way.
