- New Orleans native Charlie Andrews demonstrates how to make a Red Velvet cream cheese marble cake. It's basically a Red Velvet cake with a cream cheese batter swirled into it. After the cake is baked, I top the cake with a cream cheese frosting. This recipe calls for 15 or more servings depending on how you slice it and it is delicious. Notes: 4 cups 2 pounds in weight of batter for Red Velvet cake and 2 cups batter 1 pound in weight for the cream cheese cake in separate bowls. Quick FAQs What's the purpose of baking soda and vinegar in Red Velvet cake? It enhances the texture of the cake, making it really soft. It also helps bring out more of the chocolate flavor and brightens the Red color. Also, you won't taste the vinegar in the cake. It is easily overpowered by all the rest of the ingredients. Can I omit the vinegar and baking soda combination? Yes you can but, don't expect the same results.

Oh, Charlie! What a cake! The best part of the videos is "scrape the bowl" So very important and hardly anyone ever mentions it!

I baked this cake on yesterday (1st time) and it was good. I give myself an 8 otta 10. I let it bake 15mins longer than instructed because everyone's oven doesn't bake the same. The icing was bomb...I will try it again but overall the taste testers says it was a 10....thanks for sharing your recipes Charlie

_Red Velvet Cake has been my favorite since the late 80s 🎂 , but then so many other “Favorites” were being introduced. Seeing Red Velvet mixed with Cream Cheese (something I love) it’s a must try‼️ I could actually ‘taste’ it with Chef👨🏽🍳Charlie’s first bite_
