    At 40, this is my go to foundation. Makes my skin look so flawless. I dread the day when this no longer works for me! I mean, I know our skin changes with time. For example, in my early 30s I could get away with wearing a foundation without moisturizer underneath it! Can you imagine? I can’t even fathom that now.

    I can't begin to tel you how much I appreciate all the close up pictures of your skin with the products you test. You have no idea how much money you are saving me. I have all the same issues with kin and foundations.

    I actually like this foundation because it is one of the few foundations that has yellow undertones from the drugstore. I get oily regardless so I just embrace my youthful glow lol.

    Hi Angie. I am 62, have combination skin and wrinkles mostly around my mouth. In the winter I use Revlon Colorstay 24 Hour liquid foundation in combination/oily. It is OK in hiding pores, but has fabulous staying power. In the summer I use Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous, which is oil free. It is better at hiding pores and lasts and lasts. I have tried everything and these are the only ones that work for my particular skin.

    I am 52 and have worn this for years. It does not bother me that there’s no dropper. Never even thought about it. I use a sponge for application. I get tons of compliments. It has never faded from my skin but I set with powder. 12 hours and it doesn’t move.

    My mother in law uses this and LOVES it. She was nothing but Estée Lauder for years and she said this is as good or better in her opinion!! And believe me she is a gorgeous lady I've known for 39 years .. She is now 81 and looks incredible!! She is one that does not go out without her makeup at all!! I myself have not tried it because I'm still working now through my loreal and my Milani cream to powder which I'm really liking right now!! But we all are different and what works for one may not someone else!! For example .. The cereve sunscreen for face you said was to white .. Worked great on me... And just want to say thanks for the recommendation of cereve products .. Just some input!! Thanks!! Carol

    That is such an interesting video. I absolutely LOVE this foundation I am mid 50’s with normal skin. I use the smash box primer and setting spray and this makes my skin FLAWLESS alllllll day. Just goes to show you how different products work on different people.

    Angie, your eyes really stood out throughout this video. They are certainly not as hooded as they once were. Whatever you are doing, keep it up. They make you look younger and more attractive.
    Thank you for talking about how this foundation did in heat and outdoor. Looking forward to the rest of your reviews.

    Hello great review! I tried this foundation a few years ago and returned it. It was to matte for my liking. I prefer a more radiant/dewy finish as I think it is more youthful looking (I am48) I purchased the dewy finish but I think its the wrong color. I do like how it goes on, its very smoothing and evens out your skin tone. I wanted to share that I have tried several face primers and I just don't care for them. I have been using a finishing spray instead and I love it! Your makeup is set for all day wear and does not budge! I use Hard Candy (I think it is a brand exclusive to Walmart) sheer envy. I absolutely love it! I really hope they never discontinue it!

  • @Haloskeeper1
    @Haloskeeper1 9 лет назад +6

    Ive been using that foundation since it came out and I cant wear it for more than 5-6 hours before it starts spreading and looking blotchy and dotty on my oily/ combo aging skin..... I still use it though it's a great skin tone match and it has a pink undertone which I desperately have to have. It looks beautiful until it starts to go and that's with or without a primer. Always use the beauty blender with it..I won't repurchase but I will use it up....
    My holy grail is makeup forever matte velvet plus.......perfect for aging skin does not accentuate fine lines and wrinkles.. flawless beautiful all day and all night!

      @jenniferannfox2316 9 лет назад

      Haloskeeper1 there are few things I say that you get what you pay for and foundation is one of them. JMHO. LOL I also never wear just foundation and carry a pressed powder with me as I know I would touch up at lunch and end of day. I sampled a Lancome one that worked better than any I had in a long time. I've been meaning to order it because it really wore so well I got so many compliments and didn't transfer. I bought the Makeup Forever and it's ok but not as good as the 24 hour Lancome one for aging skin for myself. Light powder though is a good key to keep it from breaking down.

    • @youtubie7831

      Haloskeeper1 Do you wear it with sunscreen? No matter what foundation I try, with our without a primer, I can NOT get a foundation to cooperate with any sunscreen on my face. And I'm just at 30. Sigh.

      @Haloskeeper1 9 лет назад +1

      You Tubie no I don't wear it over top of sunscreen... if I have to use sunscreen which is not very often I will apply it over top of my totally done face UNLESS I use the Murad mattifying sunscreen then I will use that first...

    I love all your drugstore foundation reviews. they are so realistic and well-tested with real life situations. As an almost-40 something, I have found my skin has changed a lot in the past year. What once looked really good no longer sits well on my skin. It was on your recommendation that I tried the Neutrogena healthy skin foundation and I have to say, it's the best one I've tried. My budget only supports drugstore foundation b/c I go thru them so quickly and the Neutrogena actually helps my skin look better than it really is. Thanks!!! keep these reviews coming!

    Forgot to mention how I use the Covergirl ready set gorgeous.... I use the smash box primer water, then I apply it with a damp Beatty blender ( takes very little to get amazing coverage). Then a light dusting of sephora mineral powder and then finally elf setting spray. That lasts on my 45 year old very oily skin about 12 hrs . It even lasts through my horrendous hot flashes ( more like meltdowns lol) . Any way, I'm loving your foundation reviews and am looking forward to seeing the rest in this series .

      Hi,
      I don't know if you have had a response to your question or not, but Angie's holly grail foundation is channel perfection velvet lumiere. It's a matte foundation that you can apply even with your fingers, and it looks good. It has spf 15 , and that is a plus because sometimes my skin care routine makes my skin very sensitive, so I don't use extra sunscreen.
      I'm reviewing these videos because I want to try a low end foundation, so I have more money to invest in my skin care. Hope my answer helps you!

      @Faye Faraldo, If you are still looking, try the new Illia serum, as it is thin, had SPF, and does not hang out in lines and pores, rather it minimizes any kind of texture. I am close to your age so I'm always looking for Foundations which flatter, There are a lot of high-end ones that would work but just to suggest something that's only $18 -- since we can't get testers in that stores now, so if one gets the wrong shade it's not so expensive to purchase a seconf bottle..It's called the *Sephora's Matte Perfection Tinted Moisturizer* which is light and thin, so it does not hang out in lines and pores rather it minimizes any kind of texture or lines on the face. I am close to your age so I'm always looking for the thinner foundations there are a lot of high-end ones that would work but this one in every way mimics the high-end Foundation such as Chanel Velvet, And LaMer, & others. You could also check out Stephanie Marie's channel, &search her top five foundations and all five of those are good for older women such as ourselves. Hopr you are still doing well esecially during this challenging time. Also check out Kerry-Lou's channel. She is a warm and wonderful woman in her sixties and I can't really do her justice by attempting to describe her kind yet glamorous demeanor.
      You will just have to see for yourself --good luck and stay in good health🤗

    I have tried the fit me and did not like it. I have only recently started using foundation, since age 51. I am having such a hard time finding one I like, keep buying them and then giving away. I have lines around my lips and eyes and these all seem heightened by foundation. The one I have found most flattering is the revlon photoready. Although it has very fine sparkly bits in they dont make you look sparkly, just give a nice luminosity. It also diminished the sign of my wrinkles. Your tutorials are really in depth and so truthful it very helpful, thank you for sharing and therefore saving me money.

    I got this about 2 weeks ago and I love it. I was in a rush this morning and I put on my primer..Loreal revitalift miracle blur oil free..Maybalene fit me matt and poreless 115 ivory..all with my fingers..I may go darker next purchase. Went on quick and easy. Finished with blush..Elf pressed mineral blush..and last my Rimmel stay matt 001 translucent. Its now 9 39 pm and I have only lightly dabbed my t zone once. I look the same as when I lft this morning.I may go for the matt powder with ths line next also to see if its better than Rimmel. You looked great on camera at the end of the day.

    Hi Angie. I just discovered your channel. I am 55 and I started my YT channel about 2 years ago. I'm so glad to see that there are women in their 50's with beauty vlogs here on RUclips. I debated for a while about starting a channel because of my age and kind of felt like I had to compete with so many of these young women with beauty channels. I really love the format and theme of this series! I'm only 22 but unfortunately have deep forehead lines, under-eye wrinkles, and very large pores around my nose. Because of this I look to a lot of your videos for face products. This foundation has been on my list because so many you-tubers talk about it and I was intrigued by the "matte and pore-less" part. I think I'll be ditching it from the list.
    Another I've been wanting to try are Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1. I like the Revlon Colorstay and L'Oreal Pro-Matte but still haven't found my holy grail.
    Love the video and looking forward to more in the series! Thank you!

I am a nurse, and I work in an OR setting. You can only imagine the challenges that brings with hot flashes,steam under a mask, and the dreaded transfer issues. Kimmel is on to something here...with a good skin prep and Laura Mercier primer..this little drugstore gem is holding its own as one of my all time best foundations...give it a try and let's see if it passes our holy trail status!

Looks like you have saved me the cost of foundation, a good primer (the new Smashbox Hydrating Primer, the IT Poreless Powder (I know a lot of people will say, I already had those, but you had to bust out the "big dogs" in your last attempt, so it must be factored in the total net cost!

    Great review Angie. I've only used this foundation once or twice. My skin is more dry than oily so I figured it would work better for me in hotter weather. I also have the Fit Me powder, it's pretty nice. It's so frustrating to find the perfect foundation for older skin since our skin changes almost everyday. What worked yesterday looks blah on the face today! And especially hard to find anything to hold up all day long without having issues. I like your "Foundation Fridays" series. xoDebbie

    I have mature skin as well and, like you, try all foundations to cover pores and lines. On a whim I tried the garnier BB cream for combo to oily skin. Shade range is small but I had heard that it's almost sweat proof so I thought I'd give it a go see how it held up during my "flashes". Surprisingly, of all my foundations, I keep going back to this BB cream. I don't know what it is about it but it holds up on my skin beautifully. For me, it's a foundation that looks better as the day goes on even though they call it a BB cream. What I like most is that you can build it up from a sheer finish for every day wear to full coverage. I would love to hear your thoughts.

      Noelle Wright try Lancome. The new one that came out 24 hour coverage. I sampled it and it's awesome but I always set my makeup with a very fine powder. I like Coty and this really improves any foundation staying and also diminished pores. Coty loose powder is really good. I like Clinique or Lancome's pressed powder for touchup during the day of which I only do once usually.

    I've been watching you on YT for not very long time now, and already watched most of your foundation videos. Your reviews are perfection! So detailed and reliable. I also love your calming voice and personality. I greatly appreciate your UV protection videos, the best ones on the Internet I suppose, great content. :) I like and share your attitude towards skin care.
    I myself have issues with my complexion like enlarged pores, redness and wrinkles, and I'm 35. Thus, I'm always on the hunt for a skin base that would make me look simply better, but still natural.
    Of course, I haven't found the Grail so far, but certain foundations suit me better in different times of the year, when the needs of my skin are changing.
    If I may suggest you some foundations to try out, that would be of Clarins - Everlasting, Guerlain Lingerie de Peau, Givenchy Photoperfexion and the one from the No Surgetics line. I also find the Smashbox Halo Liquid as a good one - doesn't get into pores, doesn't accentuate them and any lines, however I wouldn't call it a classic foundation, but sth more of a tinted cream. Yet I'm not sure if they are available in your country at the moment, some of them are not new. I live in Poland, so there are significant differences among the cosmetics on offer.
    The one I haven't tried out so far, happens to be the one of your bests, Invisible Fluid Makeup, Estee Lauder. It's on my short list to test :)
    It's a pleasure to watch and to listen to you:)

    Angie, I LOOOOVE your reviews, to me they are, by far, the most accurate and genuine. Thanks for doing that. Also, I have a question: do you use a wet or dry sponge to apply the foundation?

    • @AngieHotandFlashy
      @AngieHotandFlashy  9 лет назад +1

      rguberev The sponge is slightly damp. I thoroughly wet it in warm water until it grows to full size, then squeeze it out really well, and then squeeze it again in a towel.

    Try also the Maybelline Age Rewind foundation, the Super Stay Better Skin Foundation, and the Dream Liquid Mousse foundation. They introduced another Dream formula in a tube... but I can't find the product name now, it was just introduced and has a promotion at CVS if you get that coupon in your computerized coupons.

    I haven't use a liquid foundation on my problem pore area in years. I just have not found a liquid foundation that does not accentuate the pores. I usually use a translucent powder on the area (my nose) and then apply Bare Minerals Bisque. Then I apply some more translucent powder. Sometimes I use the BE mineral veil or the IT Bye Bye Pores as powder. Using the powder first kind of invisibly fills in the pores so that when I use the Bisque it doesn't fill the pores and make them more obvious. Another coat of translucent powder does a little more camouflage and I'm done. Thankfully, it is just the tip of my nose I have to do this to. If my whole face ever fills up with pores I am in big trouble. I prefer liquid foundation but have yet to find one that can stand up to pores. Wayne Goss has a video on how to use liquid foundation on pores but for me it only lasts a couple of hours and then that area is a mess again. Would love to find a foundation that really worked well with pores.

    Another great review, Angie! I was always curious about this foundation, but now I know it wouldn't work for my aging skin either...I'm older, older!!! You looked beautiful as always even if that foundation was a big flop. I have watched all of your skincare and makeup reviews and you have helped me so much in making better choices in both areas! Have a wonderful week enjoying the warm weather, and I'm looking forward to your next installment! You are the best!

    I have been REALLY wanting to try this foundation for quite a while! I have just been holding off because I already have 19 FAIL FOUNDATIONS in my drawer. I pretty much have normal skin, but recently had 2 small dry patches that are annoying enough to make me just want to dump everything in the trash! - lol! I just recently started using a facial oil (only for about a week) and in can really see many differences that I was not aware of to start with! As always, your wonderful & best regards! - - Donna

    Nice to see you in a foundation Friday 5 years ago, and how you looked back then which I think is GREAT🤗
    I'm not so sure the foundation received a fair shake though, since it has now lasted for years and there must be a lot more good points than bad From women of all ages. Just saw 2 more reviews from this year (2020) this week by women our age who gave it big thumbs up, keeping in mind it is a drugstore foundation. Anyway, where did the time go? 2015 seems like YESTERDAY to me!! You looked SO GOOD!!👍🌹

    Angie, you look just beautiful today! All of your colors suit you so well. I am interested in all the foundations you review, even though I know some of them I would never try (like this one!). Still, very good info & you are so thorough. Thank you for doing these & have a great weekend - Becky

    Thanks Angie for this review on Fit Me poreless-matt foundation. I use #235 along with primer, setting powder and setting spray and really like it. I am also trying WetnWild Photofinish to see how that works out - I hope it is better!

    I'm really loving Covergirl ready, set, gorgeous foundation and the powder foundation on top. I use the NYX hd concealer. These are working really well for me, dare I say HG? I've been trying other foundations (Lancome, Nars, Tarte...) and nothing has beat it yet. I'm 49 with combo/oily skin.

    Hi Angie, Firstly I just want to say I discovered your site last year and love your approach. You're also looking better and better, ageing and beautifying with such grace!! I am approaching my late 40s and have a slightly oily t-zone but often dryish cheeks. Am very interested to see your review on the new Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum foundation spf 40. The Laura Mercier Photo edition (non spf) Hydrating Silk Creme foundation is so tempting too! Thanks again for all your fabulous sharing!

    Great, comprehensive reviews on foundations Angie! Your eyes look phenomenal! I was looking down your list, and my goodness, that's a ton of product. Just curious if you still wear your old fave Estee Lauder Invisible, or the IT CC+, and if you still like them? Thanks to you, I'm on my second tube of CC+ and am loving the Ombre blush, too. Although coincidentally I took out my old LM Lush Nectarine today and used it- such a fresh, pretty color.

    Love your comparison videos. I am also on the search for the holy grail foundation so I am very excited that you are doing the research for over 50. I bought the Tarte creaseless eye primer that won your test and I love it so I can't wait to see which foundation wins.

    Thank you for another great and thorough review! I swear you look prettier and younger in every video! I wonder how the foundation would do with your Becca mineral powder over it...have you tried that? After watching your review of that powder, I bought it and absolutely love it! It works beautifully over any foundation I have tried with it.

    So overall, can you suggest two good drugstore foundations the provide a nice, poreless coverage and look pretty but not cakey? I watch all of your videos but can't recall exactly those you've given good ratings. Ty!

    Love your videos. You're so precise and thorough. It's very helpfull when trying to decide if something will work for me or not! I've heard great reviews on the Guerlain Lingerie De Peau Foundation, but I wonder how good it would be for older skin. Maybe you could try that out and see how it wears thoughout the day.

    Loving this series and I am starting to find myself looking forward to Fridays. I'm in the market for the perfect foundation myself and didn't have great luck with the Dior Air Nude either (but at that price tag I'm going to have to finish it up!).
    I would love if it you considered the new Lancome Miracle Foundation and the latest one from MAC (the name is escaping me at the moment!..grrr)
    Thank you so much Angie, I'm loving your channel. I'm not quite in the 50's yet but it's fast approaching with the way time flies these days.
