- Y'all, I've heard a LOT of deathcore. Its not a bad thing that I feel like I've heard it all - its just what happens over time. But the BREAKDOWN IN THIS SONG IS FUGGIN WILD! Crazy vocals, frantic synth, and some sorta avant garde EDM deliciousness make this song an instant win.

You the man 🥰
Ya guys are the best cheers to ya ♥️
No, you are!
Killer song!! Is the breakdown sample from Machine Screw by Type O Negative??
Please make more music like this! It's the best thing I've heard in years
eeh you are
The contrast on the angelical asbtract shit for less than a second is SO HUGE and makes Shit go So HArd when the sink start draining the souls of the living.
Actual Art right there
19:56 “What the hell was that? What the hell was that? It was sick as fuck is what it was.”
My reaction every time I listen to this song 😂
I just heard this EP today, and that was my exact reaction to the whole thing!
Ep of the year tbh
This is peak
Get well soon
the title: "this genre finally surprised me"
the video: "omg is that a lord of the rings reference"
Fucking love this song!!!!!
Wtf? Where react on Ronald? Fir Ronald!!!
calm down. metal is flourishing. a lot to check out lately.
This is a lot better lmao
Ronald is garbage
That song is sweaty ass.
Death Empress is 100x better than Ronald lol
"Sometimes you just want to sound like toilets." I've never heard a more accurate description of Deathcore.
So happy you checked them out, Mark. They are at the top of the game right now.
Yep. Metal has officially peaked with the Poetic Edda EP
@@oppressorb7196 EP Of the Year Candidate for sure! AND ITS MAY!!! Metal scene 2024 is lookin INSANE
Blake and VIlle are really good vocalists and musicians! I'm so glad you reacted to this! Their recent EP was NASTYY 🔥
So disembodied tyrant is actually one guy doing everything. He writes the songs, does vox and guitar and programs drums, then he produces everything. Synestia is (as far as I know) a vocalist and a guitarist, however on their maleficium album they had a session rhythm guitarist and drummer (who's actually the drummer for shadow of intent)
Both bands AND this collaboration deserve ALL the praise in the world!!
Kudos for covering them my guy! Video was VERY informative as always 🔥🤘😝🤘🔥
100% agree!
I've heard it's 1 band
@@sourgummyworms45 You're right, disembodied tyrant is just the vocalist for the band, I believe he does stuff for a lot of other bands so he just puts himself as a separate artist
@@KardavoxAcademylove your reactions i have learned a lot of stuff for your videos.
His face on the breakdown is beautiful
I had to laugh for so long because of that. incredibly funny reaction
You gotta hear Winter now
Came here to say this. Pleeeeease.
17:16 Neurons activating haha
This song blew my mind up until breakdown, and then my mind absolutely shattered, with that breakdown, and then glitched, those moments between the ending parts absolutely CRUSHED ME
Blake is a deathcore god in my view, the skills and the composition are next level. I wonder if he plans to put an actual band together to play live, I would be at their show if they ever hit Norcal!!!
so unbelievably stoked that I saw synestia and disembodied tyrant mentioned on this channel
Blake Mullins is a genius
In the beginning the breakdown was a copycat of shadow of intents „the heretic prevails“
And then it suddenly got darko-us-ed in a way
Really cool - loved it! ❤
I wanna see what you think of tavern by netherwalker. Bro makes a noise like bricks being rubbed together 😂
That breakdown screams "we like psychedelics"
Need to check out winter from the same EP, its the best one imo
Just listened to that, it's Vivaldis - Winter, one of my favourite classical songs!
Winter is my favorite track from the ep as well
The breakdown at the end really reminds me of jiluka venom last breakdown it's so heavy it's ridiculous
Oh man you HAVE to check out their other song Winter (it's a cover of the classical song Winter by Antonio Vivaldi). It is quite possibly the most amazing deathcore song ever made, even if it is a cover.
This is right behind it! these bands are pushing deathcore to a whole new level
Jiluka - VENOM and their final breakdown has very similar sounds to the final breakdown here.
I was hoping you’d check out this EP, that whole breakdown is a sensorial experience. It takes you from a sense of danger to safety over and over, then chaos and at the end it sinks you into the deepest and darkest hole on Earth. First listen was a shock, and I’m used to listening to deathcore.
dude... I don't know how this happened, but watching this video helped me finally produce a sliding growl tone without getting the strain in my vocal cords. It just "clicked."
Thank you, man. I'm subbing right now. This is so exciting!
Also, this song kicks so much ass. I love how it's classical, deth, and prog metal all at the same time. Every song they have collaborated in has been a real treat. My favorite find of 2024 by far.
Best EP ive heard ever in deathcore
Love that song, but for me Winter is way better from that EP. Check it out if you get the time. Love the vid Mark.
HIGHKEY I want a whole song of those angelic sounds lol
this is an example of how good symphonic deathcore can really be
YES! I've been waiting to hear your take on this.
Edit: Also Winter is probably better, but I absolutely love both.
Edit Edit: (As I'm commenting while watching against my better judgement) I don't see any The Gloom in the Corner on your channel either and they are awesome. If you want to check them out they did New Order ft. Taylor Barber, and their newest song The Jericho Protocol is also amazing.
This entire EP is phenomenal. Every song is a banger and it makes me want more Neo-Classical Deathcore
7:30 ish
looks at run time...
ive heard the breakdown like 20+ times now it still gives me chills
Mark, definitely check out the entire 4 song EP The Poetic Edda!
They are so fu.. underrated!!! What is it only 60k views on the Song?! HOOOWWW
This is just insane, the breakdown brought me to hell or something i can't even explain it.
Absolut Masterpiece, like your Analysis 🔥
17:35 My sentiments exactly
One of the most badass breakdowns I've ever heard
And nik nocturnal was over there shittin on it somehow, like fk off lol
@@jkuli5314Music is subjective....
I've never had any peice of music come out of nowhere like this and absolutely SHATTER ME. It's CHILL inducing. I feel like with deatchcore bands that go for a sound like this, in some way, something isn't up to snuff with the rest of what's going on. Every part of this is so amazing to me. The EP is one of my favorite collections of music I've heard
You’ve managed to articulate my very strong feelings about this song better than I’ve been able to so far.
That one part of the breakdown sounds like getting sucked back to the beginning of existence, or something. I hope not every band starts copying this formula until it gets old à la Lorna Shore
If i heard right I am under the impression they used tape delay/side chain compression on that breakdown there is a point where they definitely did a reverse rewind using the tape delay. I say this cause people can't actually play in reverse. and the female vocals and choir coming through in such a way it is side chain compression. it is used in dance music a lot. For instants the kick triggers the side chain on the other elements of the song that would clash with the frequency the kick produces. It generally can have pumping kind of sensation . But in this song it sound like they tied all the instruments and rather the whole mix to the female choir like vocals and put the attack ration high to give it this long almost sucking in and out vibe . You asked buddy. haha this is just what my education and my ears tell me i may be wrong. but i hope you learned something from my response. that was truly my intention. go pick up your son already lmao. much love brother
These two new tracks on the EP (Winter is also excellent and you should check it out) are sooo well produced, so I think the hype is a lot more than the vocals, and that's likely why the first half of the song feels a bit meh if you're just looking for extraordinary vocals. Which is your whole thing ofc.
That bit at the end though has those awesome heavenly contrast bits that just hammer home those blasts and it just keeps coming. Was really fun watching that bit catch you off guard after the fairly standard opening sections because I had the exact same reaction like "yeah this is coooHOLY SHIIIT".
Since you are watching Japanese bands, I can recommend some really shocking vocals, I have attached the title of the video:【LIVE映像】うっせぇわ 喜劇〜カムパネルラ〜蜃気楼〜マーズ【Ado】Translated into English, the title of the song would be "Shut Up!" ruclips.net/video/8dnjqzodjgo/видео.htmlsi=UJEOXxgKkAQ73K7K She is a solo singer and is currently No. 1 in Japan. She sings in all genres, but uses metal techniques.
God damn knight drinking out of a straw through his helmet kills me every damn time
Edit: Also yah, strong Igorrr vibes from the breakdown. I liek.
The sound when the flower hatches is a melody played backwards, I inverted it and it gave me a pretty cool melody :D
@Kardavox Academy do you have an EQ set on your Sony headphones for metal and if so can you please share yours?!
Let the good times roll doesn't really translate word for word in french... it would be closer to laisse passer le bon temps. Not to criticize tho!!! I've learned so fast with the way you explain the vocals it is just incredible. But i'm french canadian so i just wanted to let you know haha love you man!
I've noticed you haven't analyzed and Falling in Reverse lately...new song Donald just released..is right up your growl alley! 😉 You will not be disappointed.
Hi, can you analyse Henning May's voice? Like in the cover of Can't get you out of my head his band AnnenMayKantereit collabs with Parcels. Or Tom's Diner hey collab with Giant Rocks.
Make deathcore not overproduced anymore. Sick song, but makes it so hard to feel anything.
I'm pretty certain that the sample they use in the breakdown is from Machine Screw by Type O Negative. 🤣🤣
Idk what you talking about. Bioshock Infinite is by far my favorite game in the franchise. Anyway, great video as always.
I think one could argue that Disembodied Tyrant is one of the few examples of a more progressive deathcore sound. I think you'd enjoy hearing Blake's/Disembodied Tyrant's extended EP, "The Divine Stigmata." The song, "Reincarnation" is a great example of a slower deathcore song that does some pretty neat things, especially toward the end of the song. What I really like about DT's music is that it's riff-heavy and it almost never follows the ol' verse, chorus, verse, breakdown/bridge, etc., although the breakdowns are normally reserved for the end; even then, though, I think Blake mixes things up pretty well.
Anyway, you should also check out the other EP release, "Winter," even if you don't do a reaction for it. The song features music from a certain Baroque composer known for a string quartet featuring a movement by the same name... Honestly, I think it's one of the best uses of the song that I've heard in metal.
agreed on the breakdown, interesting composition, texture, style. the rest of it is fairly mid. and the writing is very angsty 14yo writing his 13th poem after listening to a lot of Cradle records.
The musicianship and vocal talent here are awesome, but the super perfect highly produced digital sound really isn't for me.
The really vibrant and angelic fills in the breakdown are so fucking cool
This song + winter from the same ep was the third was my third epiphany since starting deathcore. The first was first hearing shadow of intents gravesinger. Second was first hearing lorna shore with Will Ramos in to the hellfire.
(It is a shame that the poetic edda and I the devourer are not as strong [for me]; through I like the devourer a bit more)
You should check out Tavern by Netherwalker
Hey Mark!! Can you please react to The Crusades Of the Elden Stav by Netherwalker, they are very new and that song has the voice actor of chowder, he comes in at 3:10!!!!
Those sounds were evil. They were seductive. What you heard was the beauty and the horror.
Someone else said it, and I just wanted to reiterate - please listen to their song "Winter" next. You'll love it.
This whole EP is just awesome. Been listening to the first two releases for months and now with the rest of the EP out it's even better. Cant stop listening. Edit: also, to kind of answer your question around 20:20, each of the songs on the EP is slightly different. There are some some sections of each song that may sound similar to the others but I'd say each of the songs has a pretty unique identity.
I was the 666th like let’s get deathly fellow heavy music lovers.
You need to react on Netherwalker - Tavern, it’s siiiiick
This song is so DISGUSTING & I LOVE IT!!! 🖤
how can i find verona, the new vocal teacher on spotify. im interested
I'm not sure what to believe anymore
Check out summoning the lich!!!!
The Poetic Edda EP is a masterpiece.
Perfection
Fuck I wish it was Winter instead of this one.
Ya infinite sucked
BRING RONALD NOW!!!!
Ben is on this???
I made the same face!!
play it back and make the face again!
...welll..... that was something...
Bro, I love Bioshock! WELCOME TO THE CIRCUS OF VALUES!!! 😂
HEY NOW. We see that vinyl, just sitting there, conveniently propped up in the background. You trying to hint at something? A little foreshadow maybe??
Related, have you heard the most recent Boundaries release, Death is Little More? It's very much in the same vein as You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To. I honestly can't decide which one I like more lmao
This is my EP of the year and I really don't see anything topping it.
Idk if you're a fan of Summoning the Lich but they just dropped a banger track, their last album has some wild vocals in it and shit i've never heard before this new track still absolutely rules though and would love a breakdown.
They are a concept metal band and created an entire fantasy world based on D&D, LOTR, Adventure Time and MTG, and know you like some of that same stuff so hoping to put you onto them
EDIT: This is ASSUMING you weren't the one who left the comment on their music video lol, someone in Kardashev did.
Mark, we have the same Stanley cup, and i picked mine up at 15:18 when you did. Almost did a spit take from laughing. Great video as always.
Ok so I don’t know if you’ll view this comment but a very very very little known band named secrets has a new song out it’s a banger called despair, needs a breakdown of the vocals it’s exceptional
That last part is vwry Jiluka inspired!! Sounds like the end of venom !!
You know the breakdown is filthy when Mark reintroduces himself and tells me to shut up even though I wasn't talking
This EP is really something special. First deathcore release I’ve heard in a while that checks every box. Antonio Vivaldi would be proud.
The breakdown reminded me of the album 28 by S280F. It’s an ambient/power electronics/experimental electronic album.
Theres a lot going on in the album but they have a few cool moments that are reminiscent of the breakdown. I’ve always wondered what metal could sound like with this type of electronic influence.
Thanks for the reaction and the lessons Mark. I’ll play around with the resonance tips!
Damn bro that song fucking slams ! Creative af and incredibly talented too.
Deathcore vocalists always think they can get away with just never rhyming.
My only gripe with this thing.
And you just got a new follower, I love your explanations man.
Ive been waiting for you to do a video on disembodied tyrant. He has a vocal and guitar playthrough of divine stigmata up and it's amazing
You definitely should have reacted to I, The Devourer. It’s elite.
My understanding is each of the four songs from the EP are based off of each of the seasons from Vivaldi's Four Seasons as well, which I thought was really cool.
The entire EP is insane. Also props for repping the new knocked loose album over there, are you enjoying it?
Hey, do you plan checking Waking the cadaver? 😊
I don't believe that last part is pitch shifted. Just several vocal track layers with a shitload of reverb.
I didn't expect to hear about Mirepoix in a breakdown.
"sometimes we just wanna sound like toilets"
I feel that on a spiritual level
now there has to be a whole song written around “and the gnashing of teeth” sick ahh line😮💨
