A song that comes to mind when you talk about arrangements is from Nile "ramses the bringer of war" where they are inspired by Gustav Holst's work - The Planets - Mars, the Bringer of War. You might be interested.
If im not mistaken, these 2 “bands” are just 2 dudes who do everything themselves and are like late teenagers or in their early 20’s which blows my mind tbh, very talented blokes! their ep has a lot if inspiration drawn from these type of classical pieces
the ep 'the poetic edda' has the same name as an ancient literary work of norse mythology. It's Odin and Fenrir and all of that. This ep is all related to norse myths. Ragnarök and Fimblewinter and stuff.
I implore you to check out the entire EP, each track has a theme of each of the Seasons by Vivaldi (at least from what I can tell, they aren't all so obvious as this one) Also the EP wasnt recorded by the full bands; Disembodied Tyrant is a solo project, and then only two members of Synestia worked on it as well. The solo guy also mixed and mastered it all
I really recommend checking the entire ep out, definitely my ep of the year. Potentially ep of the last two decades for me. The theme revolves around the Poetic Edda, a nordic collection of medieval poems. They picked a neat storyline to formulate from the collection. Whilst deathcore isn't generally my thing, this is pure bliss. So thoroughly relentlessly heavy, love it. That goes for the previous 3 tracks on the ep as well. I've also never really been a massive fan of breakdowns, but this ep and humanity's last breath are among few rare exceptions. Also yes the drums have been triggered, although i don't see why that would be a bad thing.
This whole EP was such an insane banger. Yes this is a cover of Vivaldi's Winter, the rest of the tracks on the EP aren't. Definitely check out the title track (The Poetic Edda), it's my favourite on the EP. And for me the EP as a whole is definitely contender for album of the year. Possibly the decade. It goes stupid hard but the musical ideas are also interesting. It also just suits me and what I want in music very much. I've always claimed metal and classical music goes together insanely well and yeah, proof positive right here haha.
To clarify, this track is really neat and cool but at the same time it's easily the weakest track on the EP. More than anything it feels like a cool idea.
I second hearing him go through all the tracks on this EP! I can't confirm this myself but I've been told that the entire album has elements of Four Seasons in each song.
@@CriticalReactions I mean it's all opinions of course, others might disagree, but yes, I think it's the weakest of the EP. It's a super cool idea and I love it but at the same time I have to admit that I think the other tracks are better.
Awesome, i wonder if one day we can see you react to "Estatic Fear - A Sombre Dance" , Haggard you already liked, this one is more like a bit of Empyrium, but unique as well. May you'll give it a shot :)
I'm the same way on the fact that they retained the classical elements instead of just using them as an intro. It always feels like a letdown when bands do the latter.
Bryan, shame on you for not immediately recognizing this was Vivaldi's "Winter", from "The Four Seasons". I've been waiting a long time for someone to arrange the entire four seasons as a metal piece - this is 1/4 of the way there. I think they did a great job on this piece, despite my abhorrence of deathcore. While power metal would be the obvious genre for Vivaldi, I would have preferred symphonic death metal.
Wouldn't it be funny if ancient germanic society was spiritual and nurturing, and all of this modern metal perception was nothing more than a nihilistic projection of our problems with modernity and nothing more.
Just listen to the whole EP. It's a musical orgasm from start to finish.
I'm not THAT into the deathcore style of music, but this ep will probably be one of the best this year for me.
This death core is so much different than the death core in high-school lol
Because now you see difference between art and trying to be popular 😅
@@dannythepavouk More like "because multiple decades have passed and music ain't static", but thanks for playing.
Are you really laughing out loud?
When I saw Classical and Winter in the title I thought at The Four Season (winter) by Vivaldi.
I didn't expect Winter by Vivaldeath 😅
Right? This was wild!
@@CriticalReactions Absolutely!
I normally hate growl/Deaththings/double kick when lasts more than 10 sec, here I loved every second of it 😍

Disembodied tyrant has just had 3 new members join the band, and they plan on touring if I remember correctly
@@pugmonzzz So it will drop the uniqueness of this project then

I've been hoping you listen to this one, my favorite EP of the year (so far but i doubt anything will beat it)
this track is way too good

I share your feelings about that EP. Happy that someone feels the same!
It was kinda funny watching you wracking your brain for the name of the Vivaldi song while it was in bold white letters on your screen. =P
Very cool!

@@ErikGrimms Death Empress is my favorite by a long shot. Something about it just does something to me that I rarely feel from music.

You need to react to more DISEMBODIED TYRANT!!!
Vivaldi would be so proud.
i was hoping you would get to this!!!!!!!!!!

Love love love this EP
this is the kinda music i imagine people who got hit with a huge snowballs in the face make
wish the vocals werent blackened but rather operatic and power. great song tho. its their choice i dont know anything about this band anyway
Album of the year?
Time II is a month away. Time will tell…
