- This is an AWESOME live version of Lindsey's classic song ~ I'm So Afraid (one of my all-time faves)!! This performance took place in May of 1976 in Santa Barbara, CA. It is from Fleetwood Mac's GREAT 1977 Rosebud documentary. Lindsey sounds and looks so freaking AWESOME in this one!! To this day, this still remains my all-time favorite live performance of this song!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this!! I only wish the quality was better. If I ever come across an upgrade of this, I will repost it.

Lindsey could NOT put much more passion and energy into this performance, and Stevie's harmony is pure, understated perfection.
I discovered Fleetwood Mac a little while ago and found this song so entrancing and beautiful. It captured my feelings wonderfully and I loved singing along to it so I performed it live at the concert night of my music school recently. Sometimes I wonder what Lindsey would’ve thought if someone told him then that a teenage girl from Germany would sing his song nearly fifty years later :’)

The guitar solo is the most expressive solo that captures the the essence of the song ever. There's off-keys and janky timing that scream with agony and chaos. Its marvelous.
Oh how Lindsey rocks on his solo!!!!!!!!!! For a song to build to such an awesome crescendo it has to be something special........and this is it!!!!

This song HAUNTED me for many, many years. I was a young impressionable teenager and on one of those rare nights I was allowed to stay up late to watch Miami Vice there was a scene where they used this song.
I think it was the scene where one of the side characters of the Vice team was killed and he was found dead in the showers.
I can’t remember the details nor have I ever seen that scene again, but the chorus imprinted itself in my brain and many, many years later I found out what the song was and by whom.
Smells and sounds are powerful senses to evoke emotions.

Absolutely underrated as guitarist -- Lindsay Buckingham. Man, this version is better than the studio version definitely. Fabulous tone also. Would LOVE to know the setup from this show.

God this song came alive when they performed it live that summer. Apparently it was a million degrees that day in SB and they just crushed it. Lindsey was at his peak in 76/77.
That was in Santa Barbara, in 77? I went to two of those shows, the first was before then, I'd think it was 74 or 75? We were kids, no tickets, sat in the bushes next to the stadium with a 6-pac between 3 of us and got wasted. The second show maybe was 78 or 79?
Maybe I was there if it was 76, in the brush. So long ago.

Thx for uploading this. used to listen to this song endlessly during long evenings when I lived in Amsterdam .. :) It's pretty interesting to compare this version to the one 20 yrs later, from performing on a small wooden stage to being a massive arena band.

There was no anger between Lindsay and Stevie they both felt so much mutual emotion at that time but they were torn apart by a tragedy not of their own making

Lindsay was afraid of his future something we all have to think about he did something that was unspeakably cruel involving Stevie but at that time they were close together and she didn’t understand his fear and neither did he, but he had a premonition that he would ruin their relationship completely and make her break her heart and turn the band members away from him for the rest of time left to him as their lead guitar player he was under the spell of Asmodeus the witch the Devil 😈 Worshipping wannabe she made him take all the money and forced Stevie to do some thing she did not believe in and which has haunted both of them ever since it happened Lindsay Buckingham dies a man immersed in emotional pain and suffering still in love with Stevie as ever despite their own sorrows he was ready to go to meet his Maker
I love lindsey, he is rarely acknowledged for his talents. i like the nicks also but (she) on my take on things a not nice person. She can sing but Lindsey will and has been always be far more talented than nicks! sorry to upset anyone, i have followed them since i was 8 i'm now 37, so i think im am entitled to an opinion.
Lindsey was physically abusive to a lot of people, mostly women, but Nicks wasn't very nice either, eventually. She started out down to earth, but after Rumours it went to her head.
