Ohhhhh my god thank you, I was losing my mind😣, I was like I know the M1 chips are good but how can they achieve that level of efficiency over intel, and BTW in the benchmarks you are comparing last gen's i9 with this year's i7, I don't know how that is a valid comparison could you explain.
Great review and as mentioned on Twitter, the battery life is impressive. My 9510 (i7-1800H, UHD+, 32GB RAM) offers under 4 hours with basic productivity and despite it being less than a year old, it's on its second battery (1st replaced by Dell). If Dell could get thermal management and battery life right in the XPS 95X0 series, it would be one of if not the best in this category. Great and helpful review.
@@lukasmurmann625 They're still fucking up the thermal paste? I remember they completely messed up the thermal paste on my ancient XPS 9360, had to fix that myself... Wouldn't expect that from a luxuy laptop manufacturer...
Great review of the Dell XPS! I just got the new XPS 15 12th gen, i9, but went with the std. display. Couldn't wait for the upgraded display as I needed the laptop quickly - the old XPS 15 finally gave up after 11 years. The upgraded display can add significantly to the price. Overall, I do agree, it's a really nice premium laptop, with some caveats. As you mentioned, ports, that 720p webcam without the shutter cover, duh? I love that these laptops are super thin, of course they've removed all the ports and now everything is a la carte via docking stations. I'm not sure I'd call that an upgrade, I think of it more as yet another way to charge more for the same thing.
Excellent review of the new Dell XPS 15 9520,there are not many out there. The battery improvement was much needed in comparison to the 9510 model from 2021. I will be purchasing a 9520 with the UHD screen as it is brighter at 500 nits in comparison to the 3.5K OLED screen at 400 Nits. Having dual NVMe Gen 4 slots is fantastic, allowing quick future storage expansion without having to format and reinstall Windows on the new drive.
I’ve been using mine now for the last 2 weeks and love it! However, the first thing I did was roll back to Win10 since I’m not a huge fan of Win11. The hinge is a bit stiff but eventually it will break in. I bought the 32GB RAM option, but if I find a good deal on 64GB ddr5 I like that I can upgrade. The only downside was how long it took to receive my custom build (1.5 months) and Dell’s logistics was so horrible that the day after I received my laptop I called Dell just to see what they’d say if I asked about when I would receive it. Dell was saying that “due to supply chain shortages and COVID lockdowns in China” that it was still tied up in the production facility. False. I had it right in front of me! Other than that, I highly recommend for college users who want a rock solid laptop for anything from virtualization, production/editing, or computer programming!
Thanks for the great review Andrew. I just bought one. Dell is having a mind boggling clearance sale taking $750 off equipped with the specs I like and OLED in Arctic White
I've read that replacing the thermal paste should result in dramatically better temperatures and fan noise I'm waiting for mind, and I will definitely be replacing that
I just purchased this laptop for $1099 on sale at dell with the matte 1920x1200 screen. It is replacing a 7590 with an i7 9750H. It's about 30% faster than the older machine for regular tasks. The new screen has eliminated the fat bottom bezel, and the trackpad has gotten huge. The speakers are now in a much better position, which is a nice upgrade. The 15" machine is the best compromise in size, weight and upgradeability. If you are doing photography or video editing, the 4k screen may make sense... but for most uses the higher resolution is overkill and uses more power. The only thing lacking from Dell is a longer warranty. I don't need in home service, and I would prefer a 2 or 3 year depot service as an option.
Can you take a look at the Dell Precision 5470? I think it is a very interesting laptop. It’s kind of an XPS 14, but with the Precision name on it. 14 inch laptops are gaining popularity these days because they are a middle ground between 13 and 15 inch laptops. I know that the Precision line is out of the budget of most people, but Dell just doesn’t make an XPS 14 currently. After all, XPS 15 and 17 share their designs with some Precision models. So please take a look at the Precision 5470.
Love the 2-Dimm upgraedeabl sockets as well as the two NVME drives for dual booting. Battery life is much improved. Something I would expect for paying the hogh prices. Diapla is the best. Oh but the price afoter tax will be only for the those with big wallets! So far I think this is the best of the 12th Gen Intel laptops.
Thank you for the review. I am curious about the efficiency of the anti--reflect OLED screen in comparison to the non-glare IPS screen when working outdoors. Would you say it is as effective as a non-glare IPS or is it more reflective?
Do you know what the difference between getting the UHD+ screen vs the 3.5K OLED display would be? I noticed on the website you could swap these two screens for no change in price
i liked that you added m1 macbook battery results its good laptop to compare battery. I hope we see it always so people who are looking for battery which laptop they should go with
Nice unit. Camera was just okay but for the price one is paying for this a 1080p camera should be at least the minimum starting point. The microphones are much improved over prior year's model. Clear sound not muffled like previous year's model. Built in port selection should be improved so that external dongals are not needed. Like the ability to upgrade memory. Overall a good unit. The review was great as always. Appreciate the honest reviews you always present.
Andrew -- I remember watching your live stream a few weeks ago when you showed the Dell C1422H portable monitor, but I haven't seen a review for it yet under your name -- I was wondering if you've seen the desklab monitor with 4K touchscreen with speakers and are you considering reviewing that monitor in the future?
Excellent review, as always. I had the XPS 15 of 2021, and I didn't like the granularity of the OLED display and the vibrancy on the bass. Now I have a YOGA 9i Gen 7 (14) OLED UHD + (your review helped me decide) with the i7 12th Gen, and I love it. The quality of the screen is incredible, the sound is perfect, has USB A, and a better webcam with privacy shutter. I think I'll keep the Lenovo, and wait to see the 2023 XPS 15, I hope they put 1080p webcam, a redesign, and hopefully a RTX 4000.
Silly question. In Canada, screen options are FHD+ (500 nits), 3.5k (as reviewed here) (400 nits) and UHD+ (500 nits). From my limited understanding, 3.5k would offer a great balance between a terrific display and power consumption. Is the loss of 100 nits a major issue? I will not be using the laptop outside, but it will be used indoors in rooms with lots of natural light. Usage will be office work, browsing/video streaming and very limited gaming (likely WoW if I ever get back into it). Thanks so much for any insight!
I'm torn between the fhd vs the 4k screen option. I want good battery life but I also want the 4k screen. How long does the fhd last compared to the 4k screen?
At 08:55 you mention that the thermal throttling does not have much impact, but it shows that the clock speeds are dropping to around 1900Mhz. That is not a little bit in my opinion. I understand that this is a rather thin chassis, but this could be considered as big thermal throttling, no?
I have same model but though this has 2nd SSD slot, it comes without screw (no pain) or heatsink so you have to purchase it separately. I purchased model with 1TB and added 980Pro which is 2 TB. But I get 7000 MB read and write is only 5200 MB. But if switch to AHCI then performance drops to 4200 MB. Very difficult to know why.
Thanks so much for this in-depth review. I have one question regarding the display and the Adobe RGB coverage. I thought only the 4K+ IPS panel was having a very good color accuracy of 100%. I can't find any information on the Adobe RGB coverage on the Dell website regarding the OLED. It's really important to me, since all I am doing is mostly Photoshop, Premiere and Lightroom Classic.
Hey Andrew, great video! I am deciding between the new XPS 15 and the MSI Z16 (11AUET-13) both with 32gb ram and i7 processors (12th gen for the dell and 11th gen for the MSI) I use photoshop, Illustrator and indesign daily to create social media graphics, creative documents, and logos. I run multiple programs at once with several chrome windows open (heavy multi tasking) Which computer do you think I should I go with / which computer will run the adobe programs the best? Thanks!!
Was deciding between this and the Alienware X14 as a work laptop with some gaming. Think I'll go with the AW as it'll be docked 90% of the time and not take much advantage of the OLED screen.
I purchased an XPS 15 9520 in Dec-2022 with 12th Gen I9, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, yada yada yada. I also sprang for the WD22TB4 dock. For the most part, I'm happy. Contrary to your experience, I cannot open the lid with one finger. In fact, it takes both hands, one to stabilize the machine and the other to actually open the lid. Also, as others have reported, the touch pad seems overly sensitive. But, there are bigger problems! Windows 11 and this machine seem to hate each other when it comes to sleep and hibernate. I have the Windows power settings to never sleep or hibernate when plugged in. But, if I simply walk away from the machine for more than about 30 minutes, it seems to just power off. Not sleep or hibernate, just shuts off, killing any applications I may have had running. I've updated the BIOS and all Windows drivers, but the problem persists. Any suggestions? Thank you!
I have always bought the Dell XPS for more than 15 years, but I am breaking this habit and going for the MSI Creator Z16, as the latter comes with the Nvidia 3070 with 8 GB Ram instead of the old 3050 that comes with Dell. It also comes with a better FHD camera. I do want to see a comparison between both before I buy though. Just in case.
Hi Andrew, what do you think is the main difference between this new XPS 9520 and the Dell Precision 5570, both configured at their highest specs? I use design and 3D softwares like Adobe Creative Suite, 3DS MAX, V-Ray 5 and similar. Thank you :)
I'm trying to pick between the dell xps 15 (2022) and Asus Zephyrus G14(2022) for university. I am going to study mechanical engineering, which one you recommend?
I found the battery life of the 12th gen chips was so much worse that I returned my 9720 to get a 9710. The power consumption while watching youtube was higher such my 12th gen FHD had higher power draw than my 11th gen UHD. The test was in Vivaldi, and the 12th gen with FHD drew -12,232 mW while the 11th gen with UHG drew 10,080 mW. Throttlestop confirmed that it was the CPU itself drawing more wattage in the 12th gen for the same tasks, and this effect seemed exacerbated with more heavy duty tasks.
I have not tested the 9720 yet so I will reserve judgment until I review that one. Having said that, I am seeing a 70% increase in battery life with the 9520 over the 9510 running the exact same battery test. But please keep in mind everyone use case is different and therefore may see varying results.
@@andrewmarcdavid Thanks for the reply. I was not surprised because I have been hearing that 12th gen chips are having a lot of problems with power draw. Do you think you could use TS to check the estimated power draw during idle and watching youtube?
@@andrewmarcdavid The battery life of my 9520 is the same (sometimes worse) than my 9510 with the same screen. I am wondering if my 9510 is defective? Is Dell doing something different with their stock Windows 11 install?
What would you choose: XPS15 or XPS17? I will order one of these (4k both, i7 as i9 I would guess gets noisier); not 100% I wanna go 17" as I would enjoy the portability, but I expect better battery from 97Wh than from 86 Wh and it is actually 3-4 mm smaller on both sides than my current 15.6". Did not find anywhere a thermal and sound comparison.
Hi Andrew, nice stuff. Love your channel and reviews. I'm in the market for a new laptop and favoriting the XPS 15. Noticed there is a new version with 19-13900H as an upgrade from last year's. Do you have any thoughts whether I should go for the 2023 13th Gen?
I would recommend people to wait for the Dell bugs to be fleshed out before buying. All Dell laptops, especially their XPS line, are plagued with problems and that's based on firsthand experience of waiting for bios updates. I also think you'd get better laptops from Lenovo, HP (especially elitebook line) and Asus later in the year since those other vendors plan on releasing AMD CPU laptops
First time seeing your channel. Your review was on point. It was informative and entertaining at the same time. I enjoyed watching this review. You got a sub. 👍
You can get the Dell Precision 5570 with the large battery and the FHD+ screen, unlike the XPS 15. This configuration should yield the longest battery runtime.
When they indicate DisplayPort and power delivery, it means (if the monitor supports it) you can charge the laptop and connect to the monitor screen simultaneously with 1 usb-c to usb-c cable?
Thank you very much for the great review! I know at the end you said the arctic white was coming later but do you have a more specific timeline like June or July? Thank you again and keep up the great content!
@@andrewmarcdavid No worries thank you for the quick reply! You have been so quick and thorough with your reviews with high and low end laptops. Thank you again!
I ordered one on May 20th. Expected arrival by June 16th. Had them throw in windows and things so I wouldn’t have to mess with that. I’m new to TB4. My old xps didnt support thunderbolt. Can I run any USB through that port? Or will it fry, say a camera or smaller device? If I can, then what’s the purpose of the other usb on the right side of the laptop and not a third TB4? I’m new to this whole thunderbolt concept. From some reading I’ve done I’m expecting to have my socks blown off. Thanks
Got mine today, that 720p camera is bloody terrible, I've come from a 9350 88th gen which I bought for £500 and I think the camera might be better on there. The power usage appears terrible but I will need to give it more time. I got the OLED screen and I had to double-check whether it was OLED or not as it doesn't compare to my LG G1 and doesn't look that much better than my old laptop although this might just be testement to how good my old dell laptop screen is. I got a 3050ti and so far I have played only 10 year old games like devil may cry and batman arkham asylam on it and they play very smoothly and playing them on a thin laptop is qute cool to me personally but a pro reviewer might not think this is acceptable, . The speakers after spending half an hour tweaking them are quite nice for anyone sitting in front of the laptop and ok for those stting away from it. This is my first new laptop, more money than I could afford tbh but I wanted something good and that will last but it has left me with a bit of a saw feeling as I can't see a £1500 difference between my old laptop and this one maybe £700 putting the laptop at £1200, rather than £2100 I paid.
Thanks for your first review! I got a 9520 myself (Oled, i9, 32Gb) and can second your benchmarks. It`s pretty impressive as I`m coming from an 9560. Which settings did you use for benchmarks ("Ultra Performance" or "Optimizied" etc) Keep up your great work!
@@giocant2944 Hi, I just checked my windows battery-report. Since May (till today) windows estimates 9:41 h. I use it for browsing, office, youtube. Brightness is about 20% (indoor use). I tweaked it a bit w/ Throttlestop and am still a happy user (despite the BIOS missing undervolting/overclocking options for the HK modell...)
Great review Andrew! Been considering getting a Dell XPS and thinking about getting the 15 or the 13 and I think this video has set me to now consider the XPS 15. Thanks!
Good review, I'm looking to upgrade from a much older version soon. The down points are the camera is still pretty bad and the mic isn't great. But I upgraded to a 4K external webcam recently anyway and so doubt will make use of the built-in one.
Thank you so much. If I want something for video editing in the 1st place, but at the same time gives me fair performance in games. Is this a good fit?
A question for you Andrew plz : would you go with this i7 XPS 15 or the i7 XPS 13 Plus (28W ) ,i don't need a dedicated graphic card but i like to have and OLED or UHD display. Thank you.
@@HH-CA - XPS 15 OLED is the sweet spot. I would think that 4k on a smaller screen would be problematic by default for reading because the words are smaller.
Awesome! Looking forward to seeing those two, I need a new laptop with decent battery life. Also, if you have the time, could you do performance comparison between amd, intel and m1 on battery?
I'm split between this and either the G9 or G10 X1 Carbon. I'm majoring in finance which is making me lean slightly towards the Carbon, however the XPS looks better in general. Any advice?
Very different devices. X1 Carbon is much lighter and more portable with a great keyboard but XPS 15 is more powerful for thinks like video editing and the like.
Seems like a solid refresh of a proven device. Like you said, it's a good example of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Great to see Dell getting comfortable with this device and building a trend of consistency with this design. Would prefer a better webcam and a USB-A port(although one can make do with the included adapter) for the price but this is all seems to otherwise improve on an already great device.
Can intel 12600H with intel iris xe drive a laptops 4K panel without a graphics card ? I am planning to opt for a similar config on precision laptop. Please suggest
Dell has said they don't see a Dell branded laptop with more than a 60hz screen any time soon. They keep those high refresh screens for the Alienware laptops
I have a small 150W USB-C hub/power adapter from amazon at my desk. It delivers 100W for USB-C and my 9520 (i9) gets loaded by it (if under light load). Works pretty well.
is this laptop good for 5k video editing? I purchase a drone with 5k video and my current old desktop can't handle editing these videos, thank for the review.
Is the screen on the Touch/UHD/OLED versions glossy or matte? I just got the 9520 FHD+ version and just trying to make sure I didn’t get skimped on the display.
@@andrewmarcdavid ugh and Best Buy isn’t carrying the Creator Edition trim I want so now I’ll have to return and buy through Dell. Oh well haha. Thank you!
@@andrewmarcdavid it looks clean but the other specs are lacking for my use. I’d rather have the UHD and 1TB storage than the FHD 512GB I just got. Live and learn!
As always, solid review. Thanks. A question: How much better battery life do you estimate the xps 9520 with the FHD screen instead of the 3.5k Oled screen would get? It would save me about $300 and if the added battery life is enough the smaller 15 vs 17 screen might tighten up and make that FHD look better than it would on the 17. If I got the 17 I was thinking I'd drop down to the FHD from the 4k UHD, but with this 15 (15.6) I'm thinking it may not be worth it, the battery life being so strong even with the 3.5k Oled. Still, I'd welcome the estimate on your part. Thanks.
@@andrewmarcdavid Thanks, and wow! 12 hrs steady websurfing for the 15.6" with the 3.5k Oled is amazing, a 70% improvement, truly amazing, but add 2-3 hours to that if I get the FHD screen, that's 14-15 hours steady websurfing, maybe 11-12 mixed use I'm guessing. That's within an hour of the new 2022 Macbook Air with the M2 chip which is even smaller at 13.3" which they say gets 18 hrs steady video, 15 hrs websurfing. One last question, if you see this, two parts actually: Do you think the 17" FHD is still a decent picture quality for normal use and movies and such, no games or anything like that? And do you think the 15.6" FHD would be visibly better quality than the 17" FHD?
@@Nate-zy5ce Don't know whether this comment is too late for you. I am currently holding both of these two screen options myself. During real-world life, I can get 6-7.5 hours on OLED model and around 10 hours on FHD + model. Since I am mainly using it plugged in anyway, I went for OLED for sure. The crazy contrast ratio is really outstanding, making me care less about the decreased battery life. But if your workflow requires a lot of battery, definitely go for FHD, that is a huge improvement for battery life
@@tedyuan1009 did you notice any bug with the device? Only thing I remember about the XPS when I bought one a couple years ago is that it was filled with bugs and problematic drivers (ending up returning it). Now I am looking into buying one again and hoping the situation improved.
I currently have a Dell Precision 15" (9570) and It find it too big and too heavy to carry around comfortable for my job as a programming engineer on the go. This is why I'm looking forward to receive the new Dell Precision 14" (5470). It seems to be to be the perfect size and it packs the same powerful CPU option (i9-12900H). Dell claims a new redesigned cooling system so I'm hoping it will not cook the keyboard broken like it did with my 9570 because I used it with closed lid a lot.
Thanks for the review, Andrew! I got 9520 recently, how do you find your idle temperatures? Mine are around ~50°C and I can see thermal throttling actually hitting near instantly under any load (HWiNFO64, sensors with tray icons). I wonder if it's normal or something needs to be done about it.
Hi, I got the i9 9520 and mine idles at 32-35°C (27°ish when left alone), browsing gets it to 42°C. But I repasted as I do this after first tests with all my laptops. Your 50° sound a little high. It should not throttle.
Hey Andrew! Cheers from the other side of the world! I am searching for a lightweight sophisticated Laptop 14 inch like these one! The only thing I fear is the Brightness everyone talks about! My budget is $1,000-$1,200 for a Dell. I had 2 Lenovo and both started to fail battery wise! Bad experience! I looked at the Dell XPS but it’s smaller coming at 13.4 inch and much more expensive. Is this Inspiron enough? I use if for Work, and Personal use such as Movies, Navigations, Music, Family Photos. Everyone talks about the Lenovo Yoga but am wanting a Dell since forever.
Not a fan of the power source , I bought an expensive XPS 5975 , I’m onto my third power cord now first one was under warranty , the USB c power cord wears , the computer starts to have battery issues saying that the wattage isn’t right from the power cord , now ive bought internal power supply replacements to hopefully fix the problem for the next year , no thanks dell fix your power supply they do not last I’m sure plenty of others have the same issue , maybe a magnetic connection for power would be better from the start and leave it in save wear , I’ll do this when I fix the current issues with my XPS , hopefully the heat has been fixed on the newer models ,the heat generated by the 5975 was ridiculous
Thanks for the thorough review, Andrew. When all is said and done, I prefer the HP Spectre X-360 16, with the 11th gen Intel chip, which doesn't consume as much power as the generation 12 Intel chip, and it runs cooler. My daily laptop use doesn't require the faster multi-core performance of the 12 gen Intel chip. Also, I like the two-in-one capability of the Spectre X360. Last, the Spectre has a USB-A port, as well as a MicroSD slot. Equipped with 4K OLED, 32 gigs of RAM, and two terabytes of storage, the Spectre, at $1,000 less then the Dell you tested, is a far better value for me.
Pretty sure Gen12 is much more battery efficient, the small cores are very good. Also in this clip you can see a +70% battery life with same battery. And almost 50% better performance when running heavy tasks. So no, I would not go gen11.
first of all, thank you for a review but I have one complaint about RUclipsrs it’s not just about you it’s about almost all RUclipsrs when they make a review, especially laptops they represent all the specifications but they don’t talk about the main issue and this issue is pixel burning everyone knows about this problem but they never talk so the question is how reliable is OLED? See the thing is when you have an OLED TV on a TV you don’t usually have a static logo or icon on your screen so probably you’ll never have burned pixels but when we talk about laptops, laptops have a desktop and on a desktop usually almost 90% of people have icons static icons which are not moving so we all know that when a long period of time subject does not move on an OLED screen you will have pixel burning, what can you tell about this? can you tell some think about this? yes we understand that OLED screen is very beautiful vibrant colors and color accuracy yes yes yes we understand but what about pixel burning
I have a older xps 15 with oled for 4 years right now, I never had those issues and I keep my laptop on the same screen for hours during renderings /exports. The above issues made me a bit nervous as well befote I bought it, but still no no regrets for buying the laptop
I got tired from the design i have 9560 (2017) it is basically the same, 5 years no design changes. Also i love my xps but it starts to get heavy and the price is too high.
XPS has the best sound of any windows laptop, but it seems they still haven't solved the thermal issues . Still thermal throttling in 2022 when it's not even a gaming laptop. Need to do better
If they put a p-series or u-series then people would complain why they didn't put H-series. Can't win either way. IN the end if you use this as it is meant to be used you will be fine.
@@HH-CA yeah, it’s slightly better than last year but the major reason was the software heating(thottling) system + new generation of cpu. Not the hardware thermal architecture. 1st, it has only two heat pipes for i-7 and 3050ti 2nd, to look nice and neat, there are only one air vent are which is at hinge Because of those two reasons, if you compare with Inspiron 15 7510(with i7-11800H) or Inspiron 16 Plus, it has similar score at “Cinebench R23”. How's your experience been thus far far?
I've read that replacing the thermal paste should result in dramatically better temperatures and fan noise
I'm waiting for mind, and I will definitely be replacing that
I just purchased this laptop for $1099 on sale at dell with the matte 1920x1200 screen. I don't need in home service, and I would prefer a 2 or 3 year depot service as an option.
thank you again for another great Review Andrew
Hi Andrew, will you also be doing a review of the new XPS 17? I can't find any full reviews anywhere!
Yes and it’s coming tomorrow

Detailed, Comprehensive Review
Do you compare w dell xps 13 9320?
Silly question. In Canada, screen options are FHD+ (500 nits), 3.5k (as reviewed here) (400 nits) and UHD+ (500 nits). From my limited understanding, 3.5k would offer a great balance between a terrific display and power consumption. Is the loss of 100 nits a major issue? I will not be using the laptop outside, but it will be used indoors in rooms with lots of natural light.
Usage will be office work, browsing/video streaming and very limited gaming (likely WoW if I ever get back into it). Thanks so much for any insight!
Brightness on the OLED display is great and not an issueb
Just bought one.
Very excited for it to arrive.
Hope you enjoy it!
This is the best review I came across. Very well done!
Really nice video. I will be checking out your other reviews.
Tempted to upgrade my XPS 15 9560
Thanks really appreciate it
I have same model but though this has 2nd SSD slot, it comes without screw (no pain) or heatsink so you have to purchase it separately.
I cover the color accuracy and color gamut of the OLED display in the video. Great for photoshop, Lightroom and video editing.
@ 06:00 A Macbook Pro 16 has a 100 Wh battery instead of 58 Wh.
It was a typo. Thanks.
Thank you!
Great review. Looking forward to upgrade my XPS 7590 4k screen

I have one I purchased coming in next week stay tuned
I would recommend people to wait for the Dell bugs to be fleshed out before buying. All Dell laptops, especially their XPS line, are plagued with problems and that's based on firsthand experience of waiting for bios updates. I also think you'd get better laptops from Lenovo, HP (especially elitebook line) and Asus later in the year since those other vendors plan on releasing AMD CPU laptops
It’s been pretty stable so far
Plagued with problems? I don't think so..

Fantastic review Andrew much appreciated, how long would you estimate an OLED screen to last for everyday use?
Not so long
You can get the Dell Precision 5570 with the large battery and the FHD+ screen, unlike the XPS 15. This configuration should yield the longest battery runtime.
When they indicate DisplayPort and power delivery, it means (if the monitor supports it) you can charge the laptop and connect to the monitor screen simultaneously with 1 usb-c to usb-c cable?
theoretically yes you can charge and use display with one port.

Thank yyoyyou for a detailed review, what do think about the MSI CREATER Z16P?

Very nice presentation on this laptop. Very informative. Thank you.

In case I want to charge this with a power bank, would a 100 watt one be able to charge it while in light use?
I have a small 150W USB-C hub/power adapter from amazon at my desk. It delivers 100W for USB-C and my 9520 (i9) gets loaded by it (if under light load). Works pretty well.

Thanks.
Thanks! Expect about 2 to 3 more hours with the FHD

Keep in mind it is hard to do in a thin chassis as we have here.
manufacturers should never put an H series processor in thin laptops, it is kind of a scam since it never delivers what it is made for.
If they put a p-series or u-series then people would complain why they didn't put H-series. Can't win either way. IN the end if you use this as it is meant to be used you will be fine.
