Oh I loved that. Born and raised in Munich, and still coming back once a year for a month. Very few things I did not know about, much appreciated. I lived right next to the Englischer Garten for three years, like 30 seconds walk, kinda backyard, and I loved a few trees I hugged every day , and played Frisbee and got stoned on the 'Big lawn' in front of Monopterus. And up there I met one of the women who changed my life forever. I love Munich and my roots there, cheers, and of course I love Weissbier, especially 'Andechser Hefeweizen Naturtrüb'.
I had a tryst with Munich for around 4 hours. I loved the city. Thank you DW for showing the alternatives to this city. Hope to be back soon and explore the same.
Wow you did very well I liked it! As born in Munich and living here for over 30 years I have to say you covered all things perfectly! Like the Weißwurst things, the WW2 monuments and thanks for not going into Hofbräuhaus hahaha ;) See you soon!
Just wanted to mention that Weißwurstfrühstück isn't something us folks from Munich would usually have for breakfast, as traditionally we wouldn't eat meat or sausages on a weekday. It's something special and was considered a luxury in the old days. Typical traditional breakfast also doesn't include beer, it usually consisted of bread, butter, jam and coffee with milk.
I have to say, a Weisswurstbreakfast is indeed more like a Sunday brunch or "Fruehschoppen" but I'd get myself a Leberkaessemmel (Bavarian Meat Loaf roll) and Butterbrezn on the way to work together with a coffee
Wow 🤩... next year I'll move to Germany and I'll live in a little city on the Bayern state... Surely I'll visit München. Good to have my first tips about the city from this wonderful couple 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Great! Vielen Dank 😊🖤
Well, almost mainstream ;) Try renting a bike to discover the northern parts of Englischer Garten, Olympiapark or even the Isar to Großhesseloher Brücke.
Well made video🎉🎉. Very educational and informative video. I will use your video as a part of my trip planning guide. A question please. Is there a hop on and hop off guided tour bus available in Munich? Thank you for your professionally made video. 👏🏼

Where is that street art bridge? I can’t seem to find it on google maps.
What are your suggestions- where to stay that is within walking distance to Munich city center?
This of course depends on your budget, there are many hotels as well as hostels within walking distance to the City Center.

I guess one can visit all these attractions comfortably without car, isn't it? Not many cities outside of Europe can boast this.
It would seem a great walking city - add in a little public transport and you'd be easily able to see most of the top attractions.
