  • A quick video of the new exhaust system fitted to my P38 Range Rover.
The system is made up of heatwrapped manifolds and heatwrapped de-catted downpipes mated to a stainless steel Janspeed Cat-Back Exhaust system. The tailpipes are 3" inward rolled.

This engine is original Buick. Old V8 block

***** A Buick engine that Rover engineers with more experience on Aluminium blocks redesigned and rebuilt to the point that the end product was so different it's constituent parts were no longer interchangeable with the original Buick. In short Rover bought something Buick couldn't get to work, improved it and made it work.

Who said Buick couldnt get it to work?

Buick did, which is why they stopped using it.

This engine was actually base for the engine in the first turbocharged serial produced car in the world. It worked, but was cancelled due to high cost. Some of the blocks had problems with porosity in the casting, which often caused oil leaks.

Yeah rover engineers had so much experience with a aluminum that they forgot that aluminum and steel have different thermal expansion coefficients and thousands of those engines had a liner slip...or a cracked block.

What is your consumption? I got one. And it spends 1 litre very 3-4 km! 😭

If this sounds anything like this inside the car, you might aswell throw away the sound system !
