This isn't a movie, it's a advert for supermarket chain here in the UK, take note of the year 2014, 100 years previously the " Great War " started, and this is based on true facts that British and Germans met in the middle of " no mans land " the first Christmas and did in fact play football. Watch to the very end and you will see that the special bars of Chocolate made by " Sainsbury's " all the profits were given to the Royal British Legion, see the poppy symbol, a very British way of honouring our war dead.
The commercial, when it came out, stirred up controversy claiming Sainsbury's was using the actual event to sell chocolate for profit. Sainsbury's did use it to sell chocolate, and the profits, all 100%, went to the British Foreign Legion
I love Sabaton! I just discovered them this year....which is odd bc I’m not here for that- I was interested in more information on the Christmas Truce of 1914 Sabaton needs to make a song about this!
I get the feeling that you did not enjoy the sentiment behind this advert, and for that i am sorry. This story showed to me that two armies of people can be closer than their leaders. The last figure out of the box was hope ...
You must have conveniently forgotten the Crusades, The Spanish Inquisition, the forced conversion of millions of indigenous people across the America's, Africa, Asia etc, the massacres of those who wouldn't convert, The Protestant/Catholic wars, the massacres of Jewish people throughout Europe by Christians, the rampant child abuse by Catholic Priests and nuns.

This Christmas truce really happened. This movie was inspired by a true story.
That is so cool to hear.......... :-)

To be fair Sainsbury’s was the supplier of chocolate to the Army at that time.
