    Dude that thing in that color looks straight up almost like metal...
    I really think this is their best one on this chassis yet, and I love the mashigan

    Yup gonna have to order one of these when I get home from Colorado which btw if you live in cascade/Colorado Springs you are so incredibly lucky the scenery is absolutely spectacular not to mention the amount of spots around for crawlers I’m kicking myself for not bringing one 😂

    I just installed a Hw 1080g2 esc today. Completely changed the crawl. Also installed jconcepts holds on treal vintage wheels

    Great info! I just ordered a set of shocks for mine per your suggestion. You're right about the ESC, it's terrible. I painted the recess on the hood flat black & added 6 lug white steely wheels, brake rotors, F lock out hubs + Milestar tires. To come: winch, HW ESC, driver, lights, etc. Aliexpress has the correct colored qtr. panel emblems.

      Love Aliexpress. Have you been able to find any inner fenders? I was able to find a set for the front on ebay but not for the rear.

      I have the 3D printed front liners & they fit great! Since the hard body comes down to the frame in back, I just painted mine flat black.

    I'm gunna run the 1.9x4.19 tires on mine and possiy75mm with 30% droop. Kinda get a little flex 💪 lol Rc4wd winch for this bad boi ❤❤❤

    Woohoo I've been waiting for your recommendations. Here's what I've done: 1080 Hobbywing, Reefs Raw 500, MyTrickRc Dragon 2 controller, large and small light bars and rock lights that I mounted to the roof rack, 2 red, 2 orange tail lights, also MytrickRc, some sweet Injora brushed aluminum bead locks, 80mm shocks (which may not fit), a giant T-Rex skull on top and RJ McCready (Kurt Russell) behind the wheel.

    I looking to buy FJ40 model. But I’m bit stuck in between RC4WD Gelande II and FMS. I did some research looks like due to the scale accuracy there are lack of modification parts for FMS. So my heart says go for RC4WD. What is your recommendation? Appreciate your comment 😊

    You mention 65mm shocks, can you install something like 70mm shocks? Will that just raise the truck up 5mm or give you more travel? Thanks for your videos and help as always!

    Wheel adds weight directly in line with center line of axle. If you add weight below that, it’s lower than the wheel. Diff skids n such.

      Correct, correct. So the true lowest, significant weight is.... brass portal axles. They're designed to put a lot of weight below the axle line.

    There exists a fluid, for bike tires, wich you can press in the tubes, to prevent a flat. This fluid will also replace the foam...

    Lower weight? People put bbs in the wheels to float at the bottom but im against adding rotating weight beyond a degree...
    Id say a heavy tire compound
    Diff cover
    Or axle housing is gunna matter more than a ring low?

      These are dual stage by Cross-RC. I think Proline dual-stage will be key for this heavy beast.

    Hey there..what if i put 70mm big bore?? Because i couldn't find 65mm shocks in my country..is there any problem if i install 70mm big bore shocks? Or is it still plug and play? Thanks

    BBs in the tires would b lower cg. But that means you have to take out foams

      They would need to slosh around the bottom of the tire to be lower than axle weight. And that's not really practical or will perform well.

    Great upgrade suggestions to my favorite FMS model thus far. My second is the Machigan. Love trailing running that one.
    Now time to get some parts ordered and start upgrading. Also suggest a scale Warn winch for yet another asthetic yet functional upgrade ;-)

    Yep! The wheel barrel is the lowest part of the truck. The only way to get that point lower would be a shorter tire.

      wheel weight is actually the same as axle weight. That's because half is below the axle and the other half is above the axle. There is something lower

      Shock oil is highly dependent on the shock and the size of the piston hole. But... compared to a traxxas or Axial shock which typically uses 30wt. oil, this shock feels like a 70 or 80wt.

    Water, or some fluid like mass. That is a lower weight. I've seem some very specialized crawlers do it.

    I have a way to get weight lower than the rim.... But I ain't tellin' lol 😉
    (Nope not fluid in the tires, that's ok but it screws up the foams)
    (Not BBs either doesn't really work with foams)

      Rim weight is really the same as axle weight in terms of height. The reason... half the weight is above the axle and the other half is above the axle... always.

      Got my G-Made 6 lug white steelies (VR01) from Amain. Mounted the lug bolts in from the back side so the front shows the wheel stud & the lug nuts, which are included with the wheels

      I wonder if the Boom Racing Yota Classic center hubcap would work with this style hub? It would give you the classic FJ40 hubcap look. I know they work on the gelande 2 FJ40, same type of mount? Also can you do a comparison of the gelande 2 FJ40 from RC4WD to this FMS FJ40? I am sure that would be a shootout everyone would love to see! Which performs better, quality, parts availability, etc…. Thanks!

      It'd take four of these to be as big as the SCX6, trust me. A few buddies have SCX6's, and I have the FJ. It's big, but I think some are going a lil overboard.
      It's a bit bigger than a TRX4.
      I'd say about 1/8 scale. . .

      @@OkieDokieBoi it's about 1/6 because the original FJ40 was not a big vehicle. It's all about proportion in reference to the original 1:1 vehicle.

      Yeah, anything heavy, like lead weights. And then duct tape them in place.

      @@RCReviewChannel I just leave them loose so they can find the lowest point in the tire which will naturally be the contact patch. It makes a world of difference on small scale rigs like the TRX4M. On larger rigs it can help up to a point, but then it hurts because it can pull the truck down depending on the approach angle.

      Yeah Racing has some similar ones: 65mm Big Bore Go damper. They come with some tuning stuff for around 20-24€ a pair.

    For about $50 more you can get a Austar AX-X6 with 2 speed gearbox & locking & unlocking diffs not to mention a hard body & beadlock wheels!!!! Pass on the FMS crap 💥

      Ax-x6 is a cheap clone with a ok body, the Fms is a model car with good performance.
