Hello. Awesome video. Was wondering if that same glue can be used for a dust cap with a lip (Vintage Celestion 25W Black Back). Is the glue only for lip less (read on your site it's used for lip less) is this because it expands? Also, any videos you guys have for fixing a dust cap with a lip? Thanks.
Is that cap coming off close enough to make it sound like your license plate is banging? While the cap was still barely hanging on it was making horrible vibration sounds. When it came off the bad booms stopped and it sounded good again.
I've got a fusion 12" 1000 watt power plant series of which the dust cap has been broken Do you have a dust cap to fit it? It doesn't have to be a fusion one.
I was given one of these (just the driver/frame -- everything was cut out). I believe it is a Force 15. Is that a speaker that would be acceptable for Bass guitar, or is it more of a PA speaker.
Tim Richter The EV Force 15 is great for a general purpose PA speaker. We have heard of guys using them for Bass set ups, but that is a personal preference more than anything else.
Check out our dust cap parts page on our website. The link is in our video description. Thanks! It is usually best to buy the same type and just a little bit larger than the original size.
Fantastic tutorial. I really appreciate you posting these. Your teaching lessons are much appreciated. Great work!

What adhesive should you use if you have an aluminum cone and a paper dust cap? I'm repairing two speakers on a Hartke 410XL Bass Cabinet.
cool I never did a speaker cone repair before thanks.
Yes, same procedure for Aluminum dust caps. Use MI-3035 adhesive for aluminum caps.

A loose dust cap can make the entire speaker sound distorted.
so touching for an excellent video

Call us to order glue part # MI-1291 which is used for the Celestion caps.
where did you get the original duct cap
can anyone tell me if it will affect sound quality if i just glue a new dust cover over the dented one?
Best to remove old cap first. Then install new dust cap.
@@simplyspeakers is that just to avoid a buzz noise or sound quality problems or can it cause more damage
It is best practice to remove the damaged cap before replacing it with a new cap to prevent distortion.
