    I make my crockpot french toast using a loaf of cubed french bread, 6 eggs, 1 can of sweetened condensed milk and 1 cup milk, 2 tsp of vanilla and 1 tsp of cinnamon. I add either 2 peeled and chopped apples or 2 cups of blueberries. I soak for 4 hours in the refrigerator and put the crock into the pot and cook on low overnight for 6 hours. You get french toast that is crunchy on the top and around all the edges. I serve either regular syrup or blueberry syrup that I make with 1 cup of blueberries, 1/2 cup of water and 3/4 cup of sugar that I cook in a saucepan for 15 to 20 minutes until thickened and delicious when I serve the blueberry variety. When I add apples to the casserole I cook equal parts of syrup and caramel apple dip in a saucepan until the caramel dip is completely melted into the syrup. This is the best syrup that you have ever tasted. I plan to try a peach version with the caramel syrup this year when peaches are ripe by peeling and dicing 2 to 3 fresh peaches and adding them to my french toast casserole before cooking in the crockpot. I think that sounds as delicious as the apples with the caramel syrup. We like the caramel syrup so well that I use the whole carton of the dip and 2 cups of syrup when I make it so we can refrigerate leftovers to use as icecream topping.

      @Donna Gribbins...thanks for the recipe. Looks like a lot involved but is probably worth the effort.

    It’s best to scramble the eggs with a fork before adding the milk. 😉

    Looks yummy guys!!! Quick Tip: I saw Aunt Lou struggling with the egg mixture. I always beat the eggs alone, then add the rest of the ingredients to the bowl. It incorporates so much easier! :-)

    That's the same mixture I use when I make french toast only I also add nutmeg. Then when
    U mentioned toward the end that it was like bread pudding a light bulb went off above my head. Adding some raisins I think would be divine.

    Y'all killing me!!!!! NOW I have Ninja envy... daughter will kill me, tell y'all I disappeared, and bury my body in the deep woods in east Texas if I buy one more 'crock pot'... sigh... (just kidding y'all but she'll really be upset cuz of storage space here.) Like Mikey, I love gadgets especially kitchen gadgets.
    Oh yeah... Mikey, Mikey, the best thing about getting new toys is giving old toys to someone who doesn't have one... ;) (I'm on your side Aunt Lou!)

    Hey guys i love your videos. I got a question. In your frent toast in the crock pot im wondering if you could use sweet and condensed milk instead of regular milk. It sounds like it would make it really sweet and yummy. But im not a pro what do you think it would be like. Do you think it would taste yummy? I love sweet and condensed milk. Today im cooking your buttered cabbage in the crockpot with potatoes in it and butter beans in the crockpot followed up later with jiffy cornbread muffins.

    How would setting the Ninja on bake for a few minutes workout, instead of broiling? Will i get the same crispy results?

    • @MikeyGoode
      @MikeyGoode  6 лет назад +2

      +Rosa Marie No, because the broiling feature comes from the top of the oven. It won't crisp up the same in the Ninja.

    If Breakfast is at 8am & it needs 3 hours in the fridge, that means up at 3 am: 'cause 3 to prep it... 😐 and 2 to cook.

    • @auntlou9435
      @auntlou9435 6 лет назад +1

      Hi Jenynour! You can make it the night before and let it sit in the fridge overnight. I usually just set an alarm to turn on my crock pot, then go back to bed! Hope that helps! ~Aunt Lou
