    You're so right. You can get a 2018 model 3 performance for 29k right now which is the steal of the century. I have a 2018 performance with 170k miles on it. No major repairs. And I just installed the tein shocks thanks to you and the car rides sooooooooo much better. Thank you man.

      Buyers remorse. I should've went for the MYP over the MYLR with Acceleration Boost unlock. Next Tesla will be the Performance or Plaid variant.

      The issue is the battery degradation on the used car and the fit and finish on the older models.

    • @neilxpeart
      @neilxpeart Год назад

      @dyhppyx do the new shocks allow you to still drive the car somewhat aggressively? I don't want to lose the handling from the sportier ride, but I'd like a more comfortable ride overall.

      @@XX-166 I have 90% battery after 170k miles. What problem?

    • @dyhppyx
      @dyhppyx Год назад

      @@neilxpeart good question. I worried too but somehow the car almost seems to handle better by keeping the wheels connected to the ground. I don't have lap times to prove it but my real world impression is that the handling is still excellent. Thanks again to gjeebs.

    Very fortunate to have both; ‘20 Model 3 Performance and a brand new ‘23 Model 3 [RWD]. The ‘23 gives most of the experience of the ‘20; range is similar; ride is similar; interaction with the car is similar. Obviously acceleration is the big difference. For those choosing between the two, I’d recommend getting a used Performance if you highly value acceleration. If not, get a new RWD.

    • @YungAnt7
      @YungAnt7 Год назад +1

      I need premium audio only reason I can’t do a RWD. You’re missing out on one of the best sound systems in the car industry

  • @ag31988
    @ag31988 Год назад +1

    I just got a ‘23 M3 RWD. Absolutely love it. A performance model would have been great but you can’t beat the value for money on the base model at the moment. Has the LFP battery and more than enough acceleration - not to mention a full warranty on a new model

    Im in college, and I'm deciding what kind of vehicle I'd like to trade in my 2012 ford escape for once I graduate and get a full time job. The criteria include speed, comfort, price, handling, and a used model 3 performance is actually pretty high on the list, especially for 30k in a year or two. Nearly 500hp and low maintenance, it could also be a sensible choice along with just being plain fast and fun. My other prospective cars include a manual camaro ss, but i feel like the tesla would last longer, be cheaper, be faster, and be more comfortable, even though it doesnt have the manual driving experience of the camaro

    I have a 2020 Model 3 performance, bought it new during covid and now got 18k miles on it. No doubt for sure it’s got the best wheel and red brake. But due to Tesla lowering the price, it is killing the resale value of the car 😢

    Hopeful in 2024/2025 the “older” 2018-2020 model 3 performance dip into the $25k sweet spot. By then the used ev tax credit of $4k will lower the sticker price so you can get a model 3 performance for $21k!
    I can foresee an updated model 3 performance with the refresh driving the older model values down more.

    • @dburgette7577
      @dburgette7577 Год назад

      @@Gjeebs Not kidding. Just letting you know, if you see a TO on the tire it is a Tesla specific tire. My Michelin PS4S have that and my Pirelli PZero's have it on them. The biggest difference is they have the foam inside the tires and have a heavier load rating. Kind of like the NO for Porsche tires. Most of the time its on performance style tires.

      Yea a lot less moving parts. The way I look at it is if you fall under the 8 years or 120,000 mile warranty you are safe because you are protected from the biggest possible failure which is the battery

      @hunderwood8837 Год назад

      @@Gjeebs I look at it this way. Yes the battery is expensive but hopefully it will be cheaper as the years come. I mean an engine which is probably the most expensive part in a car is not 14k lol. Give it time and it will be the norm
