I've started looking for signs too. And trying to see, if I had to track, how hard would it be? In an urban environment there's alot of hard surfaces. But there's still loose leaves, wet spots, possible entry and exit points... Not as easy as I'd thought. But in areas where there's less human traffic you're sure to find signs as they would stand out alot more.

Most of what is taught here is common sense stuff that most people can pick up on their own but won't unless they know what to look for. And so far this series has done a great job showing me just that

Nice work Boris. Processing an incident site (clue rich site), must be done methodically and succinctly, as per your units SOP's. Extract as much information from it as quickly and safely as possible. Make your deductions. By all accounts the targets "discipline, routines and habits," are very poor, almost comical even. The amount of information left behind is astronomical. The model is a bit of a giveaway. Here a picture would be useful and forwarded to the spooks back at HQ to overlay any "urban, suspected camp or built environment," within a 40Km radius relative to your teams current LOC. Assuming the targets rate of movement is 5-7Km per hour. Do the math. Your initial timeline has put you approximately 4-8Uhrs behind, however, with the targets LUP. You would've gained some time on your targets. Good luck writing up those incident track reports. Track on and happy hunting mate.

Exceedingly informative series! Just by looking at the impression of the butt of the weapon in the cave, you can easily deduce it to a Magpul CTR or MOE on a AR15 platform. 5.56-7.62 likely. Tracking is incredible valuable & under-apppreciated.

I love these videos. A few questions though: Where was this filmed? The scenery is beautiful. What boots/shoes are you wearing? I was looking at them in the first video, but haven't seen a good shot since. IMO, a good pair of boots is WAY more important than fancy combat pants (which are nice, but I can make due with old BDUs. I struggle finding good boots). Also, your vertical foregrip looks to be a Knights, correct?
I can never tell the exact model of boots, but I can confirm they are Salomons. If you are interested in an excellent pair of boots look into the Salomon Pathfinders.

awesome series, I liked watching it so far.. on a sidenote: does anyone succeed in getting to the quizzes 2 & 3 ..? I only get to the quiz after episode 1 and then nothing..
The site tells alot
Tactics ie a fire they don't feel like they are being observed/tracked
training/discipline, no attempt to cover their lup
Equipment, ie packs, etc
Weapons, bipod marks etc
Logistical support/local support, fresh rations vs rat packs
Once again, you guys do a great job of explaining this stuff
The print is your key sign, ie it is the sign that you have been following that confirms its your target
