If this does turn out to be something like isometric dark souls with immense build diversity and grinding for optimization/some sort of end game it might fit a niche that woukd be very satisfying to me.
I think Alaloth is something similar. But yeah I would prefer this more than Alaloth
I think you would like roguelikes then if you haven't played em. Dead cells, Hades, Enter the gungeon and curse of the dead gods all have high build diversity and grinds for an endgame. Tho in etg you don't directly improve stats or passives
imagine an MMO like that
yeah, that wont happen buddy
@@youness4247 that would be sick!
The passion behind this game reminds me of why I love gaming in the first place
well said man
No more select gender. All select body type.
Lol
@@thcbdude Dark souls have select body type if im not mistaken
"If i parry one the other one will attack me" - proceeds to just take hits from both straight to the facemeats as a preferred option :D
he doesn’t try to parry because he knows he won’t get the timing right so he gets hit any. this way at least he can trade blows.
And all he does is spam attack lol, when this game seems to not be about that.
I honestly believe that he plays dumb and plays very badly on purpose with games so that the audience wants to do it better, knows they could etc and they buy it. my man good at selling
@@briancerkvenik9702 he does it on purpose.. he knows how to get engagement XD.
@@briancerkvenik9702He admitted that he does that during a video after the Clash of Clans promo video.
this game is very visually pleasing, the art and world is so alive!
Really, all i see is dark bluishness.
@@sinisa5567 ajd ne kenjaj
go see a optician@@sinisa5567
Funny because I think the exact opposite lol
Alive probably isn't the world I would use but the art style definitely is really nice.
This is probably the best presentation of a game I've ever seen and everything looks promising. And btw this studio is one of the best upcoming studios, Ori was a real perfect 10/10 game which is super rare.
No it wasn't check the metacritic
@@FrawgfithAmblose Ori was 10/10. End of discussion
This studio releases great games but the studio has quite a poor, toxic history behind the scenes. Always in the back of my head when supporting them
@@BackyardOfHorrors what toxic history?
Agreed, if this game is as good as the previous two it is worthy of being regarded as elite (unlike cdproject was after just one great game). They have a distinctive style and vision and they don't scimp on the gameplay.
This game is special.
The devs have done a fantastic job.
We have been getting some real indie gems in the last few months, I hope it continues.
As always, indie games puttin' to shame most AAA games.
@@Anthonydyvoon Its not indie studio. No indie studio made games as polished as ori. AA calibre was ori and 2nd ori was like AAA game.
polish is not what determines whether game is AAA. It's mostly budget. And it is an indie title because THEY ARE INDEPENDENT STUDIO @@20puskinas1992
@@20puskinas1992It's still a smaller unaffiliated studio. Ori 2 was AA at best.
This game's style is like the artwork you see in some AAA games before it becomes actual graphics in the game and I'm all for it.
Yeah they went for the arcane type art style where the brush strokes are clearly visible in the drawings to give it a “drawn” look. Ever since Arcane this style of drawing has blown it’s way into all sorts of art forms
@@sunnypenumarthy1449Ori use’s it’s brush in a different manner (almost beautiful) where as this game it’s more “messy” similar with Arcanes Heavy brush lines, the lighting is vastly different and countless other differences from this game. You can very easily distinguish the Ori games from this and all in all never had “human characters” like this game. In this game the characters (also since they are human) instantly remind you of Arcane, Hence why I mentioned Arcane since most people recognise it from that since more people know about that show rather than their past games. And regardless of that point the style was definitely made popular by Arcane. Never said they owned the style or anything but people mainly recognise it through the show rather than the Ori games.
@@straivalist8281 I'll happily accept any number of media projects adopting the Arcane art style, it's Fing amazing.
its actually what you see in mobile games and the camera for this game is TERRIBLE
it's a classic indie trick to save on graphics while still make it look good. Besides nobody gives a f about realistic graphics, cartoony is fine if it's artsy
Really excited for this. perfect for the few people who are not into the huge spamming of abilities and insane numbers
POE is just a an excel spreadsheet with graphics.
This game will have a small player base. Ppl are just not into slow paced games and being a try hard .
@@Max45428 Probably true. But I love the art style and the gameplay more than I do when watching PoE which I just cant understand what is happening. Then Diablo when ive never been too interested in
@@Max45428 have you heard of souls-like?
Woah, a person who's never heard of dark souls! We must treasure this man@@Max45428
One of the things I remember from an ARPG developer being interviewed (I forget how long and what game) was that it's always better to go north because the nature of the isometric view is such that you always see more that direction. They really seemed to lean in on that idea and expand on what you would normally be able to see. Also thinking about that, the storyline of Diablo IV has you moving southward almost the entire game lmao.
And the one major time you predominantly move north, is in the sand storm in the desert, so you can't see anyway!
If you can rotate your camera it shouldn't matter, lol.
@@BettBeat_Media
If a game has a free moving camera, it isnt isometric.
@@karenamyx2205 Of course it is. It just depends on the angle of the camera. Divinity Original Sin is isometric but you can turn the camera around.
I love the art direction and lighting. It really makes the game stand out, nothing else looks like this. Looks clean as hell.
Since it was the Ori team cooking I had feeling it would be good, but watching this was very reassuring. Awesome to see this study prosper!
I've always wanted an ARPG with more weighty-direct combat.
Try Curse of the death gods, is a heavy and slow pace ARPG
Just in case you were not aware there is parrying with weapons and blocking with the shield (Asmon doesn't play like that) - also all weapons have multiple abilties that cost Focus Points (the orange bar) for example the warhammer he was using can be thrown etc by RB (on controller) which changes the d-pad view to reflect the YXBA button presses.
11:40 that's the first time I've seen Asmon drink water.
He's been drinking water the last few days I've noticed. Good for him.
Literally at 00:24, but you chose to stamp 11 minutes later.
Needs
30+ bosses
Tons of different equipment
Spells
Weapon enchanting
Large build variety
Many weapon types
Multi-player
Support capabilities
Necromancer
And dot spells and enchantments
Oh! And a very large engame that wipes like annually instead of monthly periods.
Amazing that they actually put Asmon's hairstyle in the game.
Dirty?
The fact that these guys are the Ori devs shoots my trust and confidence in this game to the moon
at 1:48:01 where the boss looks around for Asmon because it loses sight of him is such a cool detail
i like how the boss actually corrects himself mid combo based off your position. too many bosses/enemies in other games just keep swinging at air in the same direction after you evaded their attack.
definitely buying this one when released.
Has a shield, doesn’t block *just asmond things*
Shields are lame anyway.
I love that they included crafting and resource collecting. Im more interested in this than PoE and Diablo 3/4. Excited for PS5 version! Id probably even preorder.
NEVER PRE ORDER! When we stop pre ordering then these companies will stop trying to bend us over so hard.
@@Adiopoweredtrue, doesn’t hurt much to wait for a while, especially when the game will be in early access
Don't fall for the preorder trap
Not every game you need to avoid pre orders
How many of you already pre ordered the elden ring dlc?
@@ssjmonstar Is that even possible
Started watching your videos seeing you and your pops get along is awesome I just lost mine 2 years ago so keep it up and cherish that mate.
The cut scene animation, expressions, and lightings are amazing!
It's too far-fetched to compare it with POE when they only share an isometric perspective in common
Ah shit I was hoping for an in depth loot system meets dark souls... Dangit. But I came to the comments section to find so thank you for that! o7
I thought the same, it's just an isometric ARPG that shares waaaaaay more with DS and nothing with PoE other than perspective.
Yeah, sadly for most of the people isometric = diablo
There are clearly more similarities and it seems like they are attempting to have a great deal of build diversity and customization. Other similarities and distinctions will take time to be more clarified.
It's closer to V-Rising that it is with PoE
The opening cutscene was fire. The direction, the dialogues, the lightning, the voice acting. Top notch stuff.
Already looks stunning and fun to play and this is a pre-early access build. i will wait until full release and play the full experience
Haven't been this excited to play a game in a long time. It looks great overall! And also brilliantly put out., showing us all we needed to see and hear and a release window close to the reveal. Love it!
Bro same i cant wait
I have always wanted a bird-view Dark Soul game like this.
It's 45 not bird view
@@robabahanii4469 You know what I mean.
Just FYI brother❤@@VitchAndVorty
Should have said 'isometric'. lol @@robabahanii4469
You should also check out Sands of Aura. It's very similar to this
This game is beautiful. I really like the art style
Moon studio is goated with that man every game they made has gotten better im so glad they keep pumping it up
The Cutscenes is really something else man!! So COOL!!!, how the character move in the cutscenes is really good
Oh wow, last time I saw things move like that was in NOX. This should be interesting.
This is gonna sound weird, but the combat reminds me alot of Vagrant Story. Something about the way the enemies attack / animations reminds me of it. Looks like a great game. Love the graphic style.
riiight? i couldnt think what t he game was but then i saw ur comment :D
Character models and the way you move around in the environment even. I know Vagrant Story was turn based but there are a lot of similarities. Which isn't a bad thing at all. I loved that game. @@saloscontent
Reminds me of a modern take on Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance. Super excited for this.
Best BG game that has ever been made.
Dark Alliance 2 was my shit back in the day along with Champions of Norrath, great times.
But yeah this game looks very fun and beautiful.
@@drearmouse9510 for sure man both Champions games are very solid, miss playing those with my brother but they are great as singleplayer as well, so much dank loot haha
@@drearmouse9510 yeah they are fairly long games and the replayability is fair as well with all the loot and enchantment stones you can find, one of the more addicting games for me in the ps2 era lol
@@drearmouse9510 yeah multiplayer champions was fucking epic back in the day lol had some friends that would spam pick up loot button as soon as it would drop so it got pretty competitive at times and rather dickish haha but then again other friends that would look out for each other and make sure we were both geared up nicely
I haven't heard much about this game but now I am very interested to see what it's like when it comes out. A lot of interesting ideas
Animations, the shapes and colors, vfx, sound... it's all really well done.
Interesting fact about developers is that they are all working from homes, they use a tool made by themselves called "Apollo" to comunicate with each other.
They have no office and first game called Ori realeased in 2015 was developed by only 10 people.
They were under Microsoft until it came out they had an abusive workplace and demanded crunch from their devs, so Microsoft cut ties with them and then the studio founders took to Twitter to make physical threats against Microsoft heads 😂 thats why they're working from homes and are looking for a new publisher
These the same dudes that made Ori
yeah we watched the video
First few minutes of the video.
Literally first two minutes. Thanks
This is a comment on this video
Thanks I'm deaf and blind and didn't get that from the video.
The attention to details in this game is fantastic. everything is so dynamic.
Look at the cloth simulation on the tents!
the weapon system kinda reminds me of another topdown game called Seven, really enjoyed that one. The visuals and art looks absolutely amazing, can only hope the gameplay loop stays rewarding. Could be a great time to play this one.
Sold at Inbetween POE and Darksouls
Sold at the creator of Ori and the Blind Forest/Ori and the Will of the Wisps creators (well, that and the gameplay showcase.. gotta check the gameplay too). Those were incredibly games, both gameplay and atmosphere/immersion-wise. It's really a experience that recalsl the deep wonder of childhood discovery of new games
@@ArlicatlI played POE in Alpha :) so um.. Agreed wholeheartedly friend :P
testing for baldness
It looks absolutely beautiful . Love the aesthetic and atmosphere . Voice acting seems fun too . Housing is great , this looks like something I can relax and get into
Oh my god, it's finally coming out soon! I'm so excited I've been wanting to play this since it was announced at the game awards! IM SO EXCITED!!!!
wow. something that looks completely original. from art to combat. the lighting looks wonderful. i hope these guys do well.
Great video Asmon. I’m sure many people including myself would like to see this game have a system of a heal that you can depend on. Perhaps recharge over time like uses of the food in this game, but longer. Another thing that would be nice to see is when you bunch enemies together, their attacks can damage other mobs. Like friendly fire.. It would make fighting multiple enemies at a time more engaging having multiple attack strategies. Unless friendly fire is already implemented, and I just haven’t noticed.. Much love
The art style flowing over into this game is exciting. Looks amazing. I think it will be a good investment for a play through or two.
this game looks amazingly good im very excited i might have to get this day one especially with the passion of the devs and early access seems like everything i could want in an iso arpg.
this years is looking stacked, when it comes to games.
I love how everything look simple clean and relatable. This is what gaming industry needs.
I loved Fable growing up. This reminds me of that a little bit.
holy hell that first boss fight..... i cant wait to play it the game looks amazing
This is the type of game I wanted ever since I played V rising. Huge fan of this and can't wait to see more
What beautiful game, the animations, the art direction, the gameplay, I must say it looks truly inspired. Huge props to the dev team, and I it delivers.
Equips a shield.... never uses it to block... Asmon in a nutshell!
Game looks great though. Can't wait for this one.
I absolutely LOVE what I am seeing here. The combat systems reminds more of how LOST ARK works, but then leaning even more into the Souls system. Absolutely insane. A bit worried about the limited info on the multiplayer and how alts work. Let's hope they give more info on that in the following month.
When I was depressed and burnt out of gaming the only game that made me happy back in the 2010's was ori. The game has so much love and polish put into it. You can tell they really try to make a game and not a cash shop experience.
Not saying they are the same but it reminded me of Kingdoms of Amalur. Between FF7R, Dragons Dogma 2, Elden Ring DLC, and this - this is turning out to be a great year for Action RPGs.
Alright, I'm sold.
Make the sequel now.
the art of this game looks like a perfect mix of Torchlight, Brink, and i even see hints of WoW in there. the art brought me in but after watching the gameplay... easiest wishlist
I can't wait to play it by my own. At the beggining I was only waiting for PoE2 and Black Myth Wukong, but this game gave me a spark of hope for a great game
I hope you can change the color/make the stamina circle brighter because it gets easily lost in the terrain
It kind of gives me Bastion vibe, but with darksoul style. I'm happy to see more variety in Arpg genre other than becoming diablo style.
Has Asmon ever played the other Moon Studio games? Would be fun, they're both fantastic - This game is definitely unique though, can't wait
The dad talking about looking for a car reminded me of my uncle 😊. Enjoy those moments man. You never know how long you have certain people in your life.
When I saw the character creator at the end I was overjoyed. I get to play as my favourite rock star, James Hetfield from Metallica. Beer good!
this looks extremely well done, im getting nothing but dark souls/elden ring vibes when i see the monsters attacking
This combat looks phenomenal
(5:00) You: *Standing At The Edge Of A Cliff*
Asmons Voice As The Intrusive Thoughts: "...Can you jump off that. Jump. What happens?"
Not bad this one does stand out from the crowd it seems, Think il give it a go in April. Nice to see controller support too just in general.
Really enjoyed both Ori games. It's tops in the Metroidvania-style for me. Might look into this one even though I'm not a huge fan of Dark Souls-like games.
cinematics Gives me MASSIVE fable vibes just from the art style.
I really like the artistic style of those guys.
This reminds me of V Rising, Dark Souls, Monster Hunter, and Fable!😊
Just watching this after you finished it, good job, better than some streamers straight out of the box.
Funny to see how everyone (including Asmon) is surprised by the damage the mage staff does at the first boss when in one of the IGN previews (which Asmon watched) the devs said that he is vulnerable by fire. :D
Conversation with your pops was so wholesome
well, i can honestly say, i'm excited for AA crosscode-style ARPG😀
Last Epoch being the new #1 ARPG, No Rest For The Wicked has potential to be a competitor depending or at the very least #2 in the ARPG industry.
Though i suppose fighting for #2 isnt exactly fighting for much with the current state of ARPGs
What's interesting is that POE 2 is very souls like itself. If you die all the mobs respawn, dodge rolling i-frames, boss fights and even regular enemies require moveset knowledge. Good stuff
This style of slow gameplay reminds me of when i played a version of god of war on my psp when i was like 12 or so.
The roadmap on steam is already up and makes me very excited for the game
Ori and the will of the wisps has been THE most worth 30 dollar game to me. last epoc sneaking up for that title tho, Those ori games are pure movies with beautiful paintings between to traverse
Everything about this game seems to excite me... The gameplay, the systems, interface, build customisability. Obviously most of it had been done before in seperate games.
Does it have rng loot, large customizable skill trees that actually enhance and change gameplay?
Right now it just looks like that vampire game that released to fanfare and then dropped off hard after a week.
Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 didn’t have rng loot and huge skill trees, neither did Elden Ring or Bloodborne. Those are not prerequisites to have an enjoyable game.
Epic cam positioning!
i hope the game run well... i have a 6800 and hope i will hit the 120 fps even if it will not be at max settings... and hope there for a story/sense in the game too? not like many games but...
of course i ask^
gratz devs for what i saw alrdy^ even if i dont spoiled me too much...
Bro i just clicked on the video without even looking at how long it is thinking it's just a game showcase reaction and i was very surprised by how good this game looks and was like i really hope if we can play it today then he hit me with the "fun fact we get to play today" then i check the length of the video and i see 3h😂 that just made my day , i did not expect that
I love the two Ori Games so im soooo hyped for this!
The devs also did say in one of their trailers that the boss your fighting is week to fire scratch that I just saw the end of the video lol
The visuals look amazing! I'm pumped to play this game!
I'm stoked for this, Manor Lords and POE this year (even if it is just Alpha)
Saw this and thought of you and had to come see your reaction, we've been waiting for years!
Tiene buena pinta, gracias por la info
It looks like a good game but they said they wanted to make a ARPG which in most people associate with hack&slay this is more of a isometric souls like technically a ARPG but not rly how most gamers would call it.
Probably gonna play it if they dont overprice it looks like a solid 30-40€ game to me gotta see how crazy they can make bossfights in isometric some of them in the video didnt look bad but it could become pretty hectic in this perspective
This game is like Dark souls and OG God of war had a child and was raised in an abusive household by Fable and Zelda. Valheim was the cool uncle that taught it some crafting tricks.
Also minecraft + lethal company + fornite + stardew valley + sims
2:00:52 Most of the rpgs have limited healing resource. It is not uncommon thing.
I love the Albion influence sprinkled in. I wasn't surprised about the PVP mode. The gameplay does look like it's more on the deliberate style rather than the spammy style of most ARPGs. Immersive worlds has curves it seems
This game visuals lookv very astonishing ngl, i like the art style alot
I think from a game play perspective the Isometric view is great for souls-likes. There is something lost though. The bosses just don't have the same epicness when you are looking down on everything. Still looks like a great game. Ori was brilliant so I'm super hyped for this one.
