This build reminds me of a "farm-buggy" my best friend found somewhere. He needed something to use to carry sacks of feed, bales of hay, fence posts/wire and stuff like that around through the pastures without scratching up his pickup. He found a 1954 Pontiac Chieftan that had been seriously chopped down. The body was removed. The firewall with the windshield and front floor and seat was cut loose from the body and left on the chassis. The rear springs were moved up by using the front spring mount as the new rear spring mount and fabricated a new front mount. The rest of the rear frame was cut off behind the old front spring mounts. The engine was the Pontiac straight-8 flathead with a GM Hydromatic transmission. The rear wheels were 9:50 x 16, while the fronts were 6:50 x 14. It had a wood box made out of tongue-and-groove flooring for a cargo bed and used a couple of lengths of chain (one per side) for doors. The driveshaft was about 14 inches long. It had an angle iron frame to hold the radiator with an old set of early 1930s commercial headlights bolted to the frame. It was a blast to drive and would scoot along a lot faster than even us were comfortable with. With a little speed it would skate right over any muddy patches in the pastures, and that old straight-8 had a heck of a lot of torque and would spin the rear tires at any speed when you punched it. I loved the look of that old straight-8 motor out there between the front wheels. The GM Hydromatic was indestructible. We had more fun with that thing. I have no idea how we survived... So, if you happened to run across an old straight-8 out of a Chrysler, Pontiac or Buick, you could use it here... The "Look" is a real killer... Oh yeah, this was in 1965.
We've been building things just like this since the 70's! And, back then, You Almost couldn't give them away. Now the parts are Ridiculous for these. BUT, Still at it and Completely Enjoying It!
Progress , From the mind of the master to the shop floor and already you can see it coming together . This is going to be something else , a work of art you might say . More to come , Stuart in Ontario ..
The joy of building your own cars , trucks or whatever is it’s yours and you can do whatever you want. You don’t need anyone’s permission. Keep on keeping on , I like the majority of your followers love what you do and how you do it.
We have some crazy weather right now in South Florida. The hurricane hasn’t even landed. We have had 170 tornadoes. I’m sitting here watching your show lol thanks for another , Brother !
Mr Brent, this project is going to be like a heart stoping action movie. Most machines that make humans' lives easier invented accidentally, and your new project will be one of the best inventions.
I know its silly of me to say, but I really liked when the fron axle was in the more foreward position. I totally understand all the reasons why you pulled it back though. Looks like a fun build. I cant wait to see it move under its own power.
This looks to be Another Project that will turn out Amazing. It's Funny how Non-Goaled play can wind up to be a Fantastic Accomplishment. Looking Forward to the Journey
I think it's great that you're having fun creating something out of parts laying around your property. I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I say go for it! I think if you end up being able to drive it around is the bonus.
That bobber is turning into an awesome looking rig. I'd actually turn into rig that you can take to car shows and make it driveable on the street. It's looking awesome. God bless. 🙏✝️
This bobber would be awesome with a pissed off straight 6, chevy 292 would be a treat if you got one laying around 😂 looong 292 up front with a top hood cover with no sides, use a ford style grill, with the bobbed rear, going to look killer brent 👌🏾🤙🏾🇦🇺
Gosh the video just started and I like this more than a lot of ratrods I've seen in car shows. Imagine a little turbo diesel and a huge crazy exaust. 🤪
You need a new sign for the front of your shop. "Mad Scientist at Work -- Enter at your own risk"!!! 🤣🤣🤣 That is going to be one crazy rig! Just a thought - Vertical exhaust pipes right behind the cab???
Dude, yer incredible! So much fun to watch you have fun. Can't wrench anymore because of health issues but used to build race cars and rock crawlers. Miss it a lot. Good to see others doing their thing!
What a cool look. I haven't finished the big gmc videos yet, but the thumbnail made it so I couldn't resist watching. I love the idea and look of it. I can't wait to see how it will turn out.
That's a look that would get ALL talking at a car meet. Tow it over on the General , i think a narrow Ford type 30's grill with a hood, & no sides. IDK, i think that could be pretty cool. I look forward at what you will actually do. Ty for taking us along
This needs too be a full on project not a yard art project it’s soooooooo coool love it…with a big block in the front and some furry dice on the mirror😁🦾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥that firewall is super beefy🦾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥love everything about it the cab the grill the stance the wheels🦾🔥🔥🔥😘
This is wild! I love all the components you have selected, those front rails with the holes are perfect and the whole look is unique and amazing. Really excited to see how she evolves!
Sure would like to take that thing for a ride out there in the fields oh yeah when it snow's!!! in the 60s when I was growing up we called these type of vehicles Hoopies. Northeast USA thing this bill brought back some really good memories
I have a 51 cab with frount fenders hood and grill , yard art same you , someone had welded the fenders to the cab ! , i have a 82 K30 daully i was thinkina choppin up ta throw the cab on , great ta see some one bustin a move on a simmiler yard art project :)
When I was a kid way back in the 80's my buddies dad owned a salvage yard. We built a bunch of different mad Max type of stuff like that. I sure wish I had some of them now. That thing is going to be awesome!😁
I have been a viewer a long time and I love these type projects. I loved when you throw together what is basically junk and make it into something. Very cool!!
I personally forget to hit that like button once and a while just a friendly reminder to hit that button everyone absolutely knows this is the best channel out here
This should be neat it already looks narly make it really springy were the cab floats up and down when going over bumps see this is what we love you figuring out stuff creating from scratch awesome idea try something new before you get on the 35 dodge never cease to amaze
You kicked around the idea of a 6-cylinder . A really wild , souped up slant 6 would be pretty crazy ! the low profile of the engine would let you get the front grill down low . Would probably need a small radiator from something like a skid-steer . Cool project !
I would love to see you to build a rat road and as a legal driver. They are all about building a car out of what ever you find for free to minimum cost. I think your viewers would love to watch
Excellent i love it, use what you have and make it work, i like how rapidly it went from just a pondside ornament to maybe something to tour the back roads...it needs a big old diesel engine tho, use a 2nd gearbox as an overdrive unit to up the roadspeed to compensate for the low rpms and massive rear diff, run the thing on all your waste oils.
I like the look, I think you missed an opportunity to use the attached leaf springs in a cool way 😎. But at the end of it, it's your art project. Either way it's going to look rad!!!
Like the rat rod my cousin made,a '36 Ford truck cab mounted on a '37 Terraplane chassis and powered by a '48 Lincoln V12 with three speed and overdrive.
When you have fun, we all have fun too!
This is going to look cool can’t wait to see it finished I think people will love to watch this build
Not going to see it on the road... I'm betting it will be road-worthy in the end!
Hopefully
Your right I bet too
You took the words out of my mouth lol
@@Pops1948 it certainly will ,,, if Pablo has his way lol
That THING is going to be so cool, I can’t wait to see it completed. This is what I like, crazy stuff you make with no plan just do it.
It appears your best content comes when you have the most fun. Please keep having fun, thank you!

Wow, another awesome build for us to watch you create! Love the look and can't wait to see how it turns out!
I have everything I need to build the same thing. Been wanting to build it for a few years now. Just been sick so bad to wait but I’ll get there
The pallet rack supports color works well with the cab color. This will be fun. Thank you for sharing.
Mr Brent, this project is going to be like a heart stoping action movie. Most machines that make humans' lives easier invented accidentally, and your new project will be one of the best inventions.
Look like a cool, six wheeled wheelbarrow
you created a monster, I love it
I know its silly of me to say, but I really liked when the fron axle was in the more foreward position.
I totally understand all the reasons why you pulled it back though.
Looks like a fun build.
I cant wait to see it move under its own power.
That laser sure does save on the ol’ elbow grease!!!
This is what I would call relaxing from serious work of something that needs safety items for over the road just for fun nothing but cool.
Thank you

Now we're talkin!' Already 1000% more invested in this build LOL! Great plan and work as always Brent.
What a cool truck! I like it
Looks like a fun little farm buggy! Maybe slap a pintle hitch on the rear cross member and use it for dragging other stuff around.
Totally cool!
This is so cool!!!! I'd drive it all the time...
Dude, yer incredible! So much fun to watch you have fun. Can't wrench anymore because of health issues but used to build race cars and rock crawlers. Miss it a lot. Good to see others doing their thing!
very impressive, from a rough concept to a mad max style rat rod….looking forward to the next steps
What a cool look. I haven't finished the big gmc videos yet, but the thumbnail made it so I couldn't resist watching. I love the idea and look of it. I can't wait to see how it will turn out.

Brent this is awesome you have to add some more love to this build and make it a street legal project. Take care and keep on smiling.
BUILD IT ALL THE WAY!
I like it better when you share your ideas.. Gives me insight on how to do things I never thought of.
Fricken Awesome!! I like the rear spring, it just matches the coolness of the build.
Stubby stump puller AWESOME!!!! You could even toss a 4.3 in there and do zoomies for the exhaust. it just looks cool love the fancy rails.
That's "Old School" frame building on a budget, just electricity, gas, wire and time. ;-D
Hello Brent, that Pond-rod is looking awesome. Looking forward to seeing more of this build. Take care and stay safe 👍
