Fun fact everyone is correct it is a 54 I didn't realize Canadian-built cars continued with flathead v8 until the 1955
o
Sorry brent not hating or trolling love you guys just really think about what I'm saying you have two channels the first channel should be just about customizing vehicles the second channel is for everything else garage type work l.s swaps brake jobs etc. Etc.thats not hard to do
His nervous laugh and demeanour says it all to me☠️💀
Got to be worth a couple hundred bucks now👍👍
One of those $5.00, fifteen foot long flathead screwdrivers from Harbor Freight would be just the thing to unlock the trunk lid with, from the inside... I know, because that's about the only time ya need one 😂
Good evening. I am from Ukraine. I have been watching your videos for a long time. Your cars are very cool. I wish you health and inspiration! thanks for the nice video.
I pray for the safety of you and your family. America cares.
God bless you and your fellow citizens. War is Hell. May you all have peace with freedom and without oppression soon. 🙏🇺🇸🙏🇺🇦
Hello Ukraine., I was just saw a woman in Ukraine with a bunch of Soviet cars from the 1940s, You must have some very interesting cars there. Hopefully, you can get the parts you need.
I am praying for you and your family and nation. Be safe God Bless 🙏 from Oklahoma
Brent, that would make a very cool retro police car. Call it ‘HALFASS PATROL’
😂😂😂😂😂too funny
Better to change it to a two door and have fun with it
It’s already ready for a fire chiefs car😮
That car is a diamond in the rough. I'm sure there is someone who would like to breath another 70 years into it.
Great video!
Who doesn’t love the flatheads.
Nothing sounds like them!
It must an impressive sight to see the General towing a 52 Ford down the highway!
The look of joy on Brent's face when the old flathead rumbles to life is priceless. Thanks for the video.
At least Pablo got his ride 🙂
Facebook Marketplace--proud sponsor of many RUclips channels!!!😆
Gotta love that Pablo cruise !!!!
Bought a '48 in 1968 . I was 17 .Had no idea what a gem it was . We had a ball in it and sold it for $100. Thought I was a king.
My Grandfather had the same car, color. He sold it to our neighbors in 1960, they drove it till 1967, and it stayed in the garage after that. I went to college and the neighbors moved. I really enjoyed this episode. Glad you took your time, putting it together, Great Video! THANK YOU. lots of memories.
i would love to have one of them old 50s era cars
Keep working on it. Don't let it die. It's in to good of shape to scrap out
Good you took Pablo we all love seeing him go for rides the job isn't done until Pablo approves
Hot dam 1 hour and a half. It's my lucky day and the old Ford rolls👍🏻 that body is dam good for a 52, and i never seen a 3 blade fan b4
This car reminds me of a 54 Ford my uncle had. I know there are differences between Canadian and the USA cars??
It's a blast from the past!!
I like it!!!
Oh cool. I always like when you bring stuff home and try to get running right out the door. Nice
Mount a floor mounted winch at the back of your shop behind the two post lift. Put a cable on it long enuff to reach out the front overhead door. Then you can pull vehicles to your lift using the remote control for the winch. You are hitting it out of the park with your vids!
As a older guy I love to see that old Ford breathing again! I have a bigger smile on my face than Brent's!
so enjoy the way you talk at us
That aint a junker when it's loaded with NOS parts!! My Aunt had a light blue 56 Ford Fordor.... i was 5 years old when she took me for a ride....great find !!
one of my old high school buddys had a 52 4dr like that, good memories of the 60s and a lot of fun was had in it. They are 6 volt positive ground.
I have a 54 . I put a 390 4 spd in mine . Mine is a mainline . Small side glass on rear windows . They are very basic but very easy to work on . 12 volt upgrades for sure.
Good work getting the ford up and running.
Hi Brent, this Ford is actually a ‘54. If it is a Canadian model it will be flathead powered. U.S. models for ‘54 had overheads in them, maybe 239 cubes. I had a ‘54 Canadian model that I swapped an overhead into. I had to cut the oil pan into 3 pieces and move the sump, I think to the middle from one end, all with gas welding. That was in 1966. Jeff, in Costa Rica.
I'd pull the left head for a quick look. Could be a compression leak where bolt is missing/broken.
Gave you thumbs up but didn't watch the video waiting for you to get back on kermit so you can finish it and start on the 35 dodge if you don't do the 35 dodge right after kermit I'm going to slash up lol!!!!! Love watching you make things from scratch make things work creating something from your mind
Always the best music !
Yep Brent give her some pampering
Gotta love the GENERAL 👍😄
The car looks like a 1954 Ford, and the dash is 1954 Ford (USA version).
But in 1954 they had overhead valves so it may be a Canadian thing.
Great project!
I thought it looked like a '54 also, one of my earliest memories is of a '54 Customline my aunt and uncle owned in the early sixties.
a man -his dog -and a great car what more could ya ask 4
22:07 Man if that thing had a front seat I would be happy to daily it. It's perfect for me! Manual shift, flathead V8, 4 doors, not rotted out. Already loving it.
44:10 Good engine. Flathead V8s are immortal and this one is running pretty nice all things considered. I don't hear a lick of noise from underneath it! The oil filter is nice, too...I'd almost bet money an FL-1A will fit that which is still readily available. Will make a hell of a mess when changed, though.
Pretty nice! I hope you keep the flattie...
Good shape for the shape it's in.
I love seeing old American classics brought back to life! Keep up the great work!
Awesome it’s a keeper 👍👋🇨🇦
Cool beans bud, shoot, at least she runs and drives, and stops, like you, what else can a fellar ask for. Oh granted, that she runs better but hey you did what you set out to do, right? Rock on brother, rock on 🤘
All in all Brent, it's a clean machine. Body is pretty fair for it's age. The engine spins easy, low compression? Will it come back if it fires? I'm also thinking it's a 6 volt system. I thought 1956 was the 12V crossover year???
I’m always amazed by your talent,to get things driving when I would think there’s no way, but your talent shows, and I can tell Pablo is a happy camper with you. Have a wonderful weekend. Brian.
Looks really solid all things considered.
Pull the heads, free up the valves, give it a complete tune up, clean the fuel system, did you ever add some oil, just change it. I bet Esther will just fall in love with this one, with all the red interior, oh ya
Hello Brent, I have one of those starter/ignition boxes. Used it when I worked years for a construction equipment dealer. Customers would install different start switches to prevent thief. I used it for years on everything. We built one in a company training class. I am very impressed with Ester's mechanical knowledge and love the praise she gives you. You two are a great team.
Sun visor was the place for the keys...LOL
She’s a beauty!
That Car is really cool. Great score Brent 👌. Be good and have a wonderful weekend. 👍
A new adventure Thanks for sharing Digging it
Another great video 👍👍
Awesome show!
Another great blog
Thanks for letting us see this car
Fix it as a Daley run
Many thanks Steve
Love seeing the General out working; that build series is what hooked me. Cannot begin to tell you what I have learned from your channel. Thanks.
Don’t forget the head bolt on the flathead
Pablo always impressed me as a flathead kind of fellow. The sweetest sounding engine every made.
Nice looking 1952 ford Crestline we love antique cars and trucks it runs OK but I like it keep up the good work alot of the old vehicles want to live again
More Magic with Brent, Enjoy your weekend U 2 Take Care ..
Good show
Definitely ish! Awesome musical nostalgia.
Brent you got another project. The 1952 Crestliner Ford looks like it will work out. Definitely a flip. If you do choose to. Thank you for sharing this with us!
💯👊👍💕
Awesome as Always Really Cool content ..Always Love the Longer Vids
Cool stuff. Enjoyed watching ✌️ 😎
You should make it a loaner car for when friend's come visit out of town
Back in the 1960's I had a 1953 Ford Customline two door, flathead and three speed on the column. A great car.
Funny, while you going into the trunk I found myself saying can I help 🤦🏼♂️.
The fact that there is no cloth / foam on the seats may have saved on the mouse infestion ?
Another way to check for ignition fire is to drop a quarter in the cap then open and close the points. It will spark from the center to the quarter and to the nearest connection in the cap. The quarter doesn't need to be on the center pin.
hey guys , how has the general been doing i see you were out for a drive to get a "METRO"(Mercury auto?) i hope Pablo and every one is doing well. the heat here in Connecticut USA is HOOOOOOOOOOOOT! stay safe love the cars dogs and you guys😁😁😁😁😁💗
Very nice car I like it
Judging by the dash and the grille, I would say it was a 54. But 1953 was the last year for the flathead.
Yep. My guess is someone swapped the flathead into it or it`s some Canadian thing. `54 was the first year for ball joints, too.
@@curbmassa Only in the USA did Ford put Y blocks in 54 model cars, Canada used flat heads until 55
@@curbmassa I can see this Canadian '54 has the same crossmember and suspension as the '53 US version. In '54, the US version got the round tube crossmember and the Y-block oil pan sump was up front. The US '53 and earlier had this crossmember, which was toward the front. Back in the day Chevy small blocks were an easy swap with the forward crossmember. It's interesting to see this car with a mix and match years compared to the US version.
The General… best truck build on the internet
Great old Ford. Great revival. Runs and drives. Few more tweaks. My vote is invest some time and money in the flatty and see if you can get it running better. If you can then I'd say go further and bring the old Ford back to life. Old Fords this good should never die. Be safe and stay well.
I had two of these one like that one it had a 272 Y block. I had a Victoria 1954 just like this and also had a 272 in it Y block
That car is in great shape for the year
Nice to see the ol Ford on the road again......real cars not the plastic computer crap of today.
This was really fun! Fix up that old flathead.
Think ya need to sell this to somebody who really wants as is. Let them finish and take car
to any level of completion they desire. You have so much more on your to do list. Best to
you. Watching from Titusville, Florida. 😊
All i can say is WOW!!!! I have REALLY REALLY ENJOYED WATCHING YOUR VIDEO on getting the (51??) Ford up and Driving!!!! U Really R an AWESOME GUY, U LAUGH &SMILE AT ALL YOUR WORK!!! THANKS AGAIN FOR THIS GREAT VIDEO!!! HOPE TO C MORE OF U DOING WHAT U SEAM TO ENJOY!!!!! STAY SAFE AND KEEP THE VIDEO'S COMING!!!!!
She needs the "Italian Tune Up" ...ie: Vice Grip Garage! And some Berrymans!!!
A great video, had a neighbor who had 53 ford hardly use it. He would take it out to get it inspected and back in the garage. It amazes me how you pull something out of the place where it’s been sitting for years and missing parts and you’re able to get it back running, that’s true talent. Later
Neat old car, sell it as a project car. Glad Pablo got his ride.
Nice result! Fixing the engine should be a snap for you!
Awesome that you have it running Brent!
Brent, congrats on getting ur newest 52 Ford Crestline running and driving good. Miss seeing Cool Pablo..
Hi My Dear Friend Very Very Good Job ❤❤❤❤❤
Awesome work Brent ,glad you got it running again..
I fell out the back door of a 52 like that when I was a little kid. I rolled like a ball in my snowsuit. Wasn't hurt one bit but dad got rid of that car the next day. Then he got a 56 two door hardtop. He wanted us to stay in the car.
Looks amazing for over 70, great time video Brent, thanks for your work! Crestline was the top model offering. Mainline, Customline and Crestline were the models offered. Ford Standard Catalog 1903-1998 edition.
Pablo got his ride , he's a happy camper ...👍🏼
I love The General. I watched that build from start to finish.
Back on the road again!!!❤
Brent, you need a dedicated tool bag just for yard trips. Also a golf cart would come in handy.😅😅😅
Minty !
Thank You for sharing your video, and letting us hang out .
Later ...
Great revival Brent. What no PCM, Injectors, cam phasers, crank sensor. For sure that one was someone's pride and joy off the lot.
I suggest making gas oily. Two stroke or atf or both. May unstick valves. I used a solid 90 degree hook through spark plug holes and a few taps.
Fargo’s flathead used to stick, spray some loobie stuff down carb while running may loosen after a few tries.
Mercury outboard had a product, piwer tune, to clean combustion chambers.
I had a 1953 Ford 2-door sedan with a flat head V8, 3-speed with overdrive and Fenton cast iron headers with dual exhaust.
This was in the 1960s so it was in good shape. These cars have think bodies on them.
If the motor is good you can make it into a good car. These are real solid cars.
Remember, as viewers our job is to subscribe to these good RUclips channels. It is free.
"Runs like a bag of hammers...but it's reliable" haha!!
Nice work as always. Looks like a great project start. I like someone else's idea of building it as a retro police look-alike.
It amazes me that the drone hasn't smacked a tree or power line yet, or at least not that we've seen.
Cool 😎 car, wish iownit
I so wish we were neighbors so I could hang around you and your shop. It would be so much fun. A new adventure every day. You represent the best of humanity, Generous, modest, good humored, loyal and visionary. I could go on but you are embarrassed enough. 😅
Thats crazy! Even though the engine isn't running at its best it starts right up! Fun video.
