This is my favorite knit stitch pattern. I knitted a blanket in this stitch pattern using straight knitting needles.

      Hi
I wanted to make this pattern
      But was confused
      In the written pattern
There’s purl all and knit all in between
But on the dotted chart ,it shows purl all in between
      This is confusing
      Please let me know
I want to make a single blanket

Love this! I am going to try this for some of the washcloths that I am making for Christmas gifts this year. I have been knitting since this past January and continue to want to push my comfort level. After the beginning of the year, I plan to go bravely into more projects & plan on checking out all of your videos! Thank you!

i don’t understand why it has to be multiples of 10+5? or is that just what you chose to use and you can use any multiples as long as your squares follow that

  • @patricecooper8419

Hello Kristen! I was very, very pleased with this pattern! You mentioned that this can be done for a baby blanket. So if I were to do this for a blanket for me, say for example (I don't have children)-but if a blanket was done, can I do this on circular knitting needles, and how many stitches can this be done on these? I understand that it requires multiples of 10 + 5, but for a blanket, how many stitches? So I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate your beautiful videos and your sweet personality!

Small size lap blanket cast on 120 + 5 medium size cast on 160 +5 large 240, so you would make 2 mediums and mattress stitch together.

My first attempt, my purl stitches came out like my knit stitches. I moved the working yarn so I could do a purl, and did as you say, but all my purls came out just like a knit stitch. What did I do wrong?

What's the difference between the GARTER CHECKERBOARD and the basket weave stitch???

    • @studioknit
      @studioknit  7 лет назад

+Tim Schwamb The basketweave is entirely stockinette stitch on the right side. The Garter Checkerboard is a mix of stockinette and garter squares!

    • @studioknit

Yes, a little bit on the edges of the stockinette edges. If you want it to be super flat, add a garter stitch edge all around.
