0:11 says it won't stop him from drawing arrows *Then proceeds to draw a bunch of circles and ovals* Man you must be really sick
Thanks to your tutorials my 6 stack team advanced like 600SR in two weeks. It really gives a HUGE advantage on platinum / diamond if you know what route to take / where to position yourself on the map. Looking for more! Especially for king of the hill maps !
I always like Skyline's videos because the content is so great...glad to know I'm helping him sleep at night.
Incredible useful videos for an amateur crew like mine! Thank you, Skyline, and I hope you will get rid of your illness soon.
Great video Sky, these are some of the best OW vids on RUclips.
Hey Skyline, thanks so much for making such great videos. When I started playing this season, I was placed at 2280 which was lower than the previous season. I found your channel and your videos (among some other great youtubers/streamers) really helped me to improve. I hit diamond for the first time yesterday! Now it's time to get on the road to masters. So, keep up the good work. :)
That is an excellent breakdown. I'm yet to see a map breakdown that covers so much in exactly 18:35 seconds. Seriously... amazing work. Thanks for sharing!
good analysis of point 3, I've always had trouble figuring out a sustainable defense there
I love these map guides. I primarily play rein for competitive and these tips offer a simple explanation as well as a different perspective that have really helped out my positioning. For example, when I normally defend in the first choke of this map I always just kind of stood in the middle with my shield up and contested. But now I'll try to stand off to the right a bit so I can see more. Keep it up mate. Also, I think a map mastery of a king of the kill type map would be interesting to hear, too. Preferably Oasis.
Love the comment about likes not being in the algorithm since 2005. This is why im subscribed!
thanks for making these series Skyline
Great vid! Excellent map strategy!
I've literally never seen a Dorado game with a long-range high ground battle on 2nd point in diamond
joaocorreiamedia, Well, I don't know about you, but I use them successfully in gold. You can't get the whole team to move in right direction, right, but you alone can take the right position and this can help you to win a few more games. At least most advices are perfectly good for Flankers and Solder. For example, flanking behind enemy lines with Tracer on the first point can get defense confused = crashed by your teammates. Same with Solder, which takes highground on the second point. You need to be extra careful doing that alone - but it works.
Though, if you are playing healer, then probably you are right, you can't apply 90% of this guide to gold games.
I mean, even then you don't generally see professionals straight up duel for the high ground. Often, the pro meta seems to revolve around forcing people to drop with either dive, CC or just pushing through on the cart until they need to contest.
It wouldn't help anyone if it just told you what you already know.
Thanks for this! This map tends to get really chaotic on both sides from my experience in Silver and Gold. Lots of routes I'd never seen used. :)
I think there's merit to mentioning the benefit to holding that spot by the glass for the 3rd point ESPECIALLY before the door the payload passes through opens. Even if the attackers team wipe the defenders they still have to wait a good 3 seconds or so for the payload to start moving again. There is a lot of time to set up again on the spot where most people normally hold their defense. There is easily 2 to 3 team fights that can happen on the 3rd checkpoint and most teams just give up 1 of those.
Do comments get you money? I'll leave a comment and hope it gets you money.
They don't get me money but if I had to choose between money or comments I'd pick comments anyway
oh...stop it, you
Skyline -- You're such an old flirt...
awww :)
Such good guides!
The flank over the wall on the first point is great for Pharah, she can fly over the wall and take out the healers in the back and then concussive blast back to her team or back over the wall to the big health pack
Thank you! with your help from your videos I have climbed from low silver to almost diamond
This shit is gold, I love deep analysis (no homo) and this guide is super useful
Yees I wanted this for so long; I've always been a little clueless about this map.
Skyline, any chance you can do/already did a Map Guide for Oasis? Running into big problems on this map (~17% winrate) and no ideas how to tackle it as a Winston or, well, an anything.
Agree! Oasis is punishing! Pretty please with sugar on top lol
So good!
Thanks for your work, mate :-)
nice video :D and also you definitely deserve more likes
Great video
I like the new music
Good job sky. Go on with that :)
LIKE BUTTON SMASHED.
My favorite map!
great job. get well soon.
Yo Sky, good job doone on this channel! Can you just please make a playlist with all of the map mastery vids?
Yes, I will do that asap
also the small enterance on the right side on the last point is the "natural" way on which the respawn will drop in. so if you build a Symm Deathgate(tm) they cannot do much against it. Even a Monkey will not be as effective because the area is very small. Just stand back with your Symm and Throw your Ballz in there :D
Love it
i liked because he ss funny at the end
Hi, Skyline!
What do you thing about long attack flank (big above healthpack, leading straight to the 1 point), if you make it with a high damage long-range DPS (Pharah/Widow)?
I personally find it very effective, if enemy is holding an archway, as you can put a lot of pressure on enemy just spamming rockets from behind them. Especially if defenders rely on a tight deathball strat, as I can punish all the people behind the rein barrier, while he hold a barrier to protect against all my team pushing through the choke.
Pharah can get there VERY quick (1 blast + 1 boost, and you are there). Haven't tried with Widow, as I can't aim, but I guess it shall be the same, except that widow will have to wait for a second hook to the red gate's ledge, to be really effective.
3-rd point analysis is superb! You always come out with something not obvious.
Chers, luv! Keep making good content!
thx, i always had alot of problems on dorado, now i only have to convince my team to utilize these positions XD
Really enjoy these guides!
ur a good guy
what do you think about the wallclip flank on the defenders side of the church in street phase?
I love your videos sky :). What software do you use for drawing lines?
Presentation Assistant
god video
Especially on Dorado, I've tried to argue in the past about having a hero like Zen parked on the payload, with the other 5 flanking as you're suggesting, dealing out discords. If the enemy team's REALLY focusing down that flanking squad, I won't even deal any damage, so as not to give away my position too easily. Sound strategy? Mostly useless? (low-plat/high-gold player, btw).
Sky sound like soldier.. Soldier = Skyline?
That means doggo = Rais
My team has big concerns defending on high ground because the payload is left alone most of the time or has only on player on it. It's hard to convince them so all they do is defend directly in front of the payload with some aggressive pushes in the open.
Got any king of the hill tips?
Skyline, Do you need help with translation of your videos into other languages? Russian?
I need to know what remix of Maya's theme is playing in the background.
Can you do one for volskya?
New to OW, how can one fly through maps like this to explore?
No subreddit link wow. r/SkylineOW
Been wanting this for ages!
"..not gonna keep us from drawing some arrows..." *draws circles* Looks worse than it sounds, get well soon! ;)
Hey Skyline pretty sure your end Song wasn't JJD-Adventure :p
Do you get sick often dude? I think this is the second time you've been sick lol
No pew pew war ?
What is so important about high ground?
High ground people can jump down but low ground people can't jump up
Thank you. Many youtubers mention it, but before now I didn't know the significance.
Also try looking down at people, lesser body mass to aim at but easier to headshot. The same for the opponent who has to look up and still cant headshot you, you can back away and use the ground as cover.
The first point is my favorite place to play Winston in the entire game.
Oasis? Liijang tower? Route 66? Illios?? Eichenwalde??
El Dorito!
Those maps are good all around for winston. I just like how you can get massive ult charge under that bridge. :D
I swear I can hear ace attorney music playing over the video (maya I think?)
Fuck their poorly weighted algorithm, I'll give you a like...
just so you know..............i was the 381st like! Sleep well my precious!!
I'm not sure I agree with the entire team taking the extremely long way of gaining high ground because you just lose valuable cart time at that point.
If you win the teamfight then you'll probably save significantly more time by advancing it in one shot than if you repeatedly try and fail, though. It's probably depends on the situation
I love your videos, but you started this with the solo queue in mind. But then you started saying "bring all 6 people up here" which is very hard to coordinate in solo queue.
MrKhaosKid When I watched these map guides I wished he had one for solo queue and one for group or just for highly coordinated and uncoordinated teams in general.
"forgive my nasal-ey voice today" Nigga today? I love your content, your videos are always a cut above, but we need to have ourselves a talk about where the line for nasal is my dude.
0:12 for like 10ms he has his open programs screen showing.
I really like these map videos, but every single time you talk about the "better" path to take on offense or defense, I stop and think to myself:
"If all 6 players are in team chat, and I'm really polite, and I ask everyone to try this position, will they do it or will they split?"
And 9 times out of 10 I know "Nope they'll split".
If you aren't a Rein (You'll path the players with your shield.) or support player, abuse the fact that no one will take the key parts of the map. Run there as a Tracer or Soldier, or knock off players as a Winston/Dva (or even a Lucio!). And finally, properly communicate what you want to do. Always start with "Want to go left?", and be OK if the team doesn't follow up.
I gotta pee
dont give phara even more tips :O in solo q its so hard to get some kills of her -.-
first :^)
you always say that when you have sex too?
You know what they say OneOxone, it's a race to the top
I feel like your moving the camera way too much this time round
I didn't get that feeling. :o
fourth!!!! closest I've ever gotten to first.
Says the video is for solo que,. Spends whole video talking about coordinated 6 man pushes/flanks :-/
There should still be communication and coordination in solo q.
