My secret strategy is:
1.- Charge in
2.- Die
3.- Blame the Hanzo
HAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA
Are you wrong?
Thats why you'll be in bronze forever. Blame the healers and you'll get free sr lol
I wish having this watched was a requirement for queueing into competitive.
19:36 I've been in a game where there was a Mei denying access to this flank and we could not break through. Even if we sent 2 dps she would wall us in half and duel us one at a time. If things went south she would freeze herself and get backup from a Tracer she was queued with.
Also, I've noticed Widow can be a real pain on defense last phase. Little cover, and she can get on the chandelier to kill supports over the top of Rein's shield.
Lord_Avvakum what rank are you because the problems you state are super easy to over come.?
At first i was like, I know everything about this map already! But then he was like, now if you come to this exit here... And I said to myself, shit there was an exit there?
I guess he's talking about the farthest exit from spawn

At first i was like, I know everything about Alt+Tab already! But then he was like, Alt+Esc... And I said to myself, shit
That was the most informational video on RUclips ever, of all time.
RedHead Redemshn You've clearly never heard of Tai Lopez. Knowledge.
RedHead Redemshn every skyline's video is that
suuuure it is ..
Holy shit... I haven't noticed that bonfire before.
Sky.. not only do we share a love for HoN and OW.. but also a love for keyboard shortcuts.
I love you.
8:30 As a Genji main I go right instantly on Attack 1st point. Went against a team a few days ago and they let me get three picks for free because they weren't expecting that flank.
Don't be that team.
Lol, yea, love when that happens.
Or just directly over the big building in front :D
This map is just sooo gorgeous
Eichenwalde Hype! Greetings from Germany!

No fucking greetings at all :D

Did you know you can also press Win + (1, 2, 3, 4, ...) to select particular tabs in the task bar? I figure that will be helpful for you if you need to swap between, say, a vod, your drawing thing, and Overwatch. For example it could be Win + 1 for the vod, Win + 2 for the drawing thingy, and Win + 3 for Overwatch.
Hopefully that's helpful.
omg
Well you got him amazed, good job lol
LydianLights great you broke him
Lots of useful information for the last point. Always struggled to kill the enemy DPS on high ground. Always tried to take the direct approach. Thanks!
Been waiting for you to do this with the new entrance! thanks!
love you skyline!!
That Alt-Esc is so useful holy shit.
10/10
Up-voted purely for alt+esc... then watched the rest of the video! Great job! Thanks as always!
Never clicked in a video so fast in my life! Like before watching because your content is the best :)
Great map guide, but the most valuable thing I learned in this video is ALT+ESC, thanks Skyline!
good vid, I dont use a lot of the high ground on last point so definitely going to be trying to do that more!
My super secret strat on Eichenwalde, on defence, on the last area, is to sit up on that balcony that you can't get to without movement abilities (usually as Mercy). It's such a safe spot to hide before rezzing, and you can reach a bit around the corner to heal people with jumping off then gliding back onto it.
2 over extenders disliked this video. It was a gr8 vid
Almost forgot to stay positive! As always, thanks for the reminder ;)
I personally find myself loving life playing as Junkrat on Eichenwalde
The mine/trap combo is very effective with all the narrow passages and doorways to keep cheeky flankers out of my blind spots
Hey Skyline, did you see what Meta Athena did on this map during Apex? That set strategy was awesome.
in the future could you sometimes say where the rein stands, because as a rein main you show positioning that is far back and I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to be at the choke but maybe I'm a scrub and don't know anything
Isaiah B you shouldn't really be right at the choke, try to stand at a good angle where they need to commit to wreck your shield
yup. If you get too close to the choke, the other Rein can take a wide angle and pin you up against the side-wall of the choke even before you lose your barrier and he will probably live.
Isaiah B I play alot of rein myself and i feel like its a bit of a dynamic choice. If the team is flank heavy I like to hold the choke as your team should win the shiels battle. Only thing about this is you need to have one or two anti-flankers that can watch your back. Just like above tho, you need to position in a way to allow you to charge a short distance and not be charged. If they are death bally and not very flank like holding back farther can be the way to go unless you have a mei or second shield like orisa to help you hold. For me if I fall to far back with the shield it gives the enemies confidence and your team less.
Were there aways birds flying around on this map? Never noticed it before. Very informative video, thank you :)
Hi Skyline! Love your guides, they are really helpful. What software are you using to sketch on the screen?
Presentation Assistant
My favorite map.
I remember that time Skyline said he wasn't going to do specific map guides :p
Can you make a Route 66 map guido? I struggle a lot with that map.
Do Kings Row next :)!
Alt + Esc.... wow why did I never know about this XD
well not quite. the dark souls reference area is a good TP spot xD
Sneaky attack Symm works great if you just Rightclick Ball the first point then get your ass up that stair and put up a TP there and also destroy the enemy one if there is one. Because Eichenwalde has so much high ground advantage a TP on attack is more viable than the shieldgen but I always tend to make that decision depending on how good my team is. If they do not take advantage of high ground I tend to force them onto the high ground with my TP. If the team is pretty decent i give them the shield.
I knew It! That new passage way was in fact closed there before
You know. The problem now with 2 cp is, at least in the lower ranks, it is extremely good to defend on the point on the high ground. Not in hanamura or temple of Anubis, but in volskaya. As you may know, pros usually don't defend the choke because the high ground around the point is so good. Because of this, when teams now defend on the high ground, it is obviously a good place to defend and nobody knows how to deal with it. I also don't like people asking for likes. Like if you agree
alt-escape. got it.
10/10
what is this alt+esc wizardry?! this is arguably more important than the rest of the video lol
Did you get louder :D ?
On first point, you said defenders are defending left or right. What I usually see is defenders standing directly on the choke, with DPS raining into the choke. That makes it a bit difficult to just push left or right. How can we break that?
Soul-Burn Maybe use a flank as he has mentioned. I like to fly over the building as D.Va and contest the point to give my team the possibility to push through.
I know this is like the dumbest question ever but how do you draw on the screen like that?
Presentation Assistant is a tool Skyline uses.
My strategy on Eichenwald is definitly Alt Escape
anyone know how he went free roam mode? with just the camera?
niteSlayer open a custom game and put yourself as a spectator
Stand on the chandelier
#earlysquad
what is a good way to contest the high ground while also pushing the cart in a coordinated team
Shave Data Have a tank or two on the payload with one DPS and the supports, and have one or two (ik I mentioned note that 6 peeps) DPS flank and contest the high ground (lucio can help here as he can knock people off as well as heal) this is my idea, (and how I do it) but I might be wrong.
The thing is a lot of your advice assumes that both teams are playing the map to its full potential, but that's rarely the case.
Just being nit-picky, the W in Eichenwalde is pronounced as a V like, "I-kin-vald"
It's also not pronounced "kin". "chen" in german is a sound not used in the English language.
ello
"Ch" isn't pronounced "k" and the last e isn't silent
so your telling me you say it eitch-in-wald-ay
ALT ESCAPE
I pretty sure it's alt f4..
Keegan pretty sure it's windows + L
Pronounced: "EiSHen-Vald-eh" SOURCE: forvo.com/word/eichenwalde/
Edit: The announcer's pronunciation still sounds like "Eichenvalde" to me: ruclips.net/video/hlcWNOnJTm8/видео.html
I consider the in-game announcer voice canon.
It is likely that that Eichen might also be pronounced I-Kh-en-Vald-eh (think how Reich is pronouced). But as far as I'm aware there are no silent e's in german. I am no expert here though.
As a side note, the announcer is probably not pronouncing any of the non-english sounding maps the way they'd be pronounced in the native language (think Hanamura (different stress on "a" sound) or Dorado (obvious one being the "R" sound)).
Tawlney
The Solution is simple: In English is no sound for the "ch", while in german is for example no "th" sound. They just dont exist. The pronounciation in the example is perfectly right.
well the ingame voice announcer got it wrong also, by now im just used to it, doesnt change the fact that its wrong
translate.google.de/#de/en/Eichenwalde
now that I've had some sleep you are right Noirox. My real point is that the announcer is very american in every pronounciation of all the maps.
quick, get more subs so people i play with know about these cool safer routes.
I just watched this, then didn't open Overwatch. I went to see my girlfriend instead, like a psychopath.
the "W" in Eichenwalde is pronouced "V" because it is german
Hallo himmellinie

First dislike! Sorry Skyline, it's awesome, but I really just wanted to be first in something. Hope you'll forgive me :)
