- WOW today went great! The first step was a scrap metal cashout, starting with a truck full of steel and a second run with the high-value stuff. Things really heated up when we got to the dumpster diving, not only did we pull a BUNCH of great scrap, but a whole pile of great treasures we can use too!
Here are the wire cutters I like!: amzn.to/3adv7kz
This is the cheaper version: amzn.to/2wjkMFd
And here are those grips I recommend: amzn.to/2QCJmYl

I have scrapped a couple things here and there in the past. But, I came across you’re channel a week or so ago, binged on your videos and today, took a fridge, a washer, a antique broken brass (mixed metal) bed, a bike and some odds and ends and made $127 and change. Not bad. I’m now hooked. Love your videos!
One man's garbage is another man's treasure.😂
nice family .nice guy
WOO WOO WOO!!!
Yee yee yee!
Thank you for the videos, my back hurts now just watching them. 4 more years and I can go home and start scrapping.
Love your viedos☺
Thanks! Me too, lol
I really enjoy this channel. This guy reminds me of myself in that it doesn't matter what he's doing or where he is he's having a good time, just enjoying the moment. The good stuff
Thanks! I’m really glad I took my life in this direction 😉
@@thubprint a few months ago I became super into scrapping and what not and after scouring the interwebs I have to say this is my go-to channel for any questions or knowledge I need. Thanks a ton for putting this channel together. Its helped me a lot.
Glad you can take more steel now a days
Hey it one of my favorite bearded dumpster divers
I’m just stoked to be on the list ☺️
I used to work as an espresso repair tech and we had brass and copper scrap that we always said we would take in, but never had the time to separate. I see if I google espresso repair in your area I get three places...not sure if you like cold calling or if they are spots you could visit. If they got scrap, its typically good stuff!
Thank you, that’s a really great idea!
Like your videos I use them to help myself find scrap materials for smelting and recycling. Keep them coming they are some of the best videos I have found
Thank you so much! I’d like to do them more often but I worry the quality would suffer if I rushed them
@@thubprint you are producing at a good rate I have the notifications on so I've been watching as they come out
It's so cool seeing the two of you having fun at the scrap yard. You can have a good time anywhere if you enjoy experiences. Proof is in this video.
😁👍
I guess I am kinda randomly asking but does anyone know of a good place to stream newly released tv shows online ?
@Marco Lucas Flixportal =)
@Alessandro Jose Thanks, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) I really appreciate it!
@Marco Lucas you are welcome =)
I’m enjoying watching u do the dumpster dives . Thanks again
Me too! Happy to keep sharing. 😁
M8 besides being my favourite Canadian junkie hey , I like the way you handle your dumpster diving adventures. You brought the weefee with you and that's a plus in my book., since I bring wine along and the work load seems lighter. You sir are my num 1 Canadian aye , and I'm lookung forward to seei more vids of you working , scrapping and making it look so simple . Keep up the good work. God bkess y'all.
Mine not wine
Always a pleasure to hear from you bud! It’s been a minute, I’m a bit rusty but it’s nice to be back out there 👍 I’m hoping she comes along more often because you’re absolutely right, it doesn’t feel like work when you’ve got good company!
Awesome stuff
I thought so too!
I love your videos
Me too! 😁
Wow great video once again!
Thank you ☺️ the trash fairies do seem to make sure I find something cool most of the time!
Good finds man!!
Yewwwwww
Thanks Marcus! I was p excited to get one good bin right after another. Thanks for saying hi!
Those red cast pumps are industrial recirculation pumps for large buildings hot water system. They are installed on a separate hot water line that brings the left over volume or pressure in the line back to the holding tank... basically makes a normal hot water distribution line into a closed loop system that always keeps fresh piping hot water circulating through the lines. My building goes through lots of these pumps as they are constantly running and sediment can reek havoc on the turbine. Their bearings are usually what gives
Ahhh.. cool to know! All I knew about them is they’re a good chunk of cast iron lol
thanks man
Thank you!
At the end of the day cans & bottles are.... still cans & bottles! Dumpster diving for scrap and other treasures is infinitely more variable!
That was some mighty fine diving Thub, well done! 👌
Great scap duo.
I think so too!
Great video.. fun times. Nice finds. those little red pump bases are often solid brass.
That jump box with the winch was a awesome score. I've never seen one and now I want one. lol
I perfer and like the scrap hunt better than the bottle and can hunting videos. But whatever content you put up thub, I'll keep tuning in. 🤘 Keep doing the thing.
Nice! Thanks for letting me know. I like bottle hunting and seeing what I can find in those bins but I sorta think it’s not *That* interesting
Nice haul my friend!
In my opinion, a really great day!
Yes!! Love the dumpster diving vids!
I’m so glad 😊 I do too honestly, these were some great finds!
Awesome vid my dude! Every day I wake up to a new vid of you is an awesome day!😁
Well I’d better get more out there so I can guarantee you more awesome days! 😁
A new video 😁
Cool seeing you bring in some automotive scrap. Might be time to turn in all the stuff I've been collecting as a byproduct of scrapping cars for their converters. I stopped counting at around 150 wheels and 60 something batteries among other things...lol
Well make sure you call around and get a good price! Batteries don’t seem especially good right now but their price doesn’t seem to change much. 0.93/lb on rims seemed pretty good to me though!
Very nice find-the tools !!Have a good weekend!Greetings from Germany and stay safe!!
Oh, hello to Germany! I love finding things I can use, I’m not much for reselling online so retail dumpsters aren’t very attractive to me.
Hope your weekend has been great!
@@thubprint Hi Thub^^my finds were from civilian bulky waste drives.Retail Dumpsters do not exist here-in the way they do in Canada.
Great finds
Really stoked to get two good dumpsters one after another!
I like dumpster diving in the open areas more. Keep safe sir!
Definitely, if nothing else it has better lighting!

Hi Thub, it's been a while since I posted. Hope you & little Wubb are doing well. You look amazing! Really healthy, unlike us Ontarians who are being continuously put in covid jail. It's insane here & mostof us are fed up. As always, sending love & hugs to you & Wubb. ❤❤ from Ontario 🇨🇦🇨🇦
I'm a scrapper from Timmins, cheers
😊
nice haul you found some great spots!
I’ll definitely have to go back! I had another good spot in the area but the guy put a lock on the dumpster 😅
@@thubprint That's lame I understand if other people were making messes but u always leave it better than u found it and by him doing that he's just allowing more recyclable items to end up in a landfill. But at least that's just one dumpster!
So glad your putting out videos again i really enjoy them i learn so much from you so good job!
That’s so cool! I like making the specific guide vids but I suppose there’s a lot to ‘in the field’ practice as well
Hey Thub, that was a great adventure! Enjoyed tagging along. Don't feel bad about the garage doors, you saved them from the landfill. ☮️💙
Ey, that’s a good point! Thanks for coming along, I’ll keep em comin 😉
nice T-shirt
😆
Great finds, definitely miss the bottle picking,🙂
No prob! I’ll do some more, I’m just feeling it out and still unsure if people would prefer bottle picking with scrap cruising, or separate them somehow? I’ll probably just blend them together because they aren’t separate in my mind.
@@thubprint hmmmm, I like the combo... even if I’m not a scrapper. It adds a bit of interest. I also like seeing the convos with those you I counter and hearing your thoughts about the daily situation 😀 I’m only a very new subscriber, but I must say I have binged a few episodes over the past 3 days.... loving it! I’m in Australia and the container deposit scheme is only a few years old in my state, but I’m loving the passive income I get as I go for my daily walks with my toddler in her pram and collect bottles and cans discarded on the ground to and from the park. It’s nowhere near what you make but it all adds up 😀 keep on keeping on!!
Great diving skills , almost like a dance!😁Nope didn't miss the cans and bottles. I used to always bring someone with me! .. working for one's self is awesome 😎👌
It’s basically my favourite hobby lol. Keeps me light on my feet! May or may not have been showing off for my companion 😅
just jealous of seeing you scrapping outside in the dark
dealing with a F 8pm carfew here since holidays
really look like youree having fun scrapping
keep doing the thing
They gave you a curfew too?? Times are crazy..
Primo the water pump got good cooper inside and outside normally is aluminium .I have found a lot of them
This one is cast iron but we’ll see how hard it is to get it open!
It's always crazy to me how many tonnuex covers and truck toolboxes people throw away. I wish i found more alluminum ones, i would be scrapping them all
I wanted to save this one but I think it’s fate is sealed. It’s a bit busted anyway, so we’ll find out what’s in it!
So refreshing seeing how exciting your adventures are. I would have a blast doing the same I'm sure. Keep doing the thing Thub! And say hi to your lovely partner she seems to enjoy your expeditions together :)
It was a particularly good day, heh. And I will, but I’m sure she’ll see it!
Excellent finds Sir , good video , bottle videos are good too , your choice Thin , say hi to the Wub .
Thanks! I think I’ll keep blending them together because *I* like bottles, but I gotta have something for everybody 👍
Not too shabby on the rims! Great return on investment, Thub!
I was fully surprised lol
Out with the old , in with the new. Or to quote Ernest ,
A hungry Lion hunts best, know what I mean Vern 😁
Absolutely! That, and ‘comfort is the enemy of progress’
Personally I like the non- bottle collection
Keep it up. I’m sure you know but , Hot tub/Jacuzzi pumps are a great score. I,m always on the look out. Contact any hot tub dealer. You might get removal options$$$ and or just pumps $$$ . Best wishes.
I actually hadn’t thought of that!
I was just about to ask if you rotated treasure hunts. Example big scrap Sunday through Wednesday and bottles and cans Thursday thru Saturday. Whatever the hunt may be on what's more around at the time.
So nice to see your hunny helping!!! That info about the foam core steel is interesting. I would have assumed aluminum too. Keep doing the thing!!
I’m glad she came along ☺️
Dude! It’s been so long since your lady friend has been in a video! She’s as gorgeous as always!! Your killing the scrap game! Keep it up, great video as always, looking forward to the next one!
Thanks! And I think so too haha, gotta get her to come along more often!
Wish you had time for a couple vids a week. Love the grind. Each adventure is better than the last.
That *is* the plan, and I am slowly slowly getting there lol.
At 14:50 those are uhf/vhf nmo antennas for mobile communications. If you have any buddies into scanners or tow operators I'm sure they'd buy them off you. Good finds.
Well I already cracked one open to check for goodies but the bits were just silver plated copper, so thanks for letting me know! I’ll have to see what the other two can sell for 👍
love watching you find metal. On top of you looking like my good friend Abe, I have to tell myself you're not him. Lol . I love your videos man.
I hope he’s a cool dude! Thank you, and I’ll keep sharing the adventures 👌
Most times when I get to talk to owners and site managers, they come up with even more stuff for me. Folks like knowing we're redirecting waste out of the garbage and into a recycle stream.
Awesome video as always👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks so much 😊
If you were in the states I’d give you this blown motor I just took out my car. 🤙🏻 The wife and I love watching your vids
Ohh, those things are great! Well.. not when you’re using it I suppose lol
Thanks!
Hey thub is that a Ford ranger I just recently got a Ford ranger with a topper myself 😅 but I enjoy watching your RUclips stuff have fun thub!
It’s basically a Ford ranger! It’s the Mazda B-series, but they’re the exact same parts and from the same factory, just a different badge.
All I am thinking with that good plumbing stuff, load that right up.
I was so jazzed to find that, really great chunks right there!
Hay man I love ur vids ima scrapper to lol I wanna ask you a question why do u have a cab on ur truck take it off so u can fill ur truck up some more scrap
Love the shirt. Classic americana.
Love the Beavis and Butthead shirt. LOL
Classic 😉
Nice stuff as always, Thub! I am having to take a break from going out as I temporarily don't have a truck, but I plan on alleviating that very quickly. My next one will have a ball hitch and I am going to invest in a small trailer, as I pass up a dishwasher or clothes washer at least once a week, and it would make me go out more to use it!!!
Keep doing the thing...
Oh! I have all my computer chips from the flat-screen TVs I have scrapped on eBay, had someone message me to tell me they can't be recycled and my stuff was worthless, and that they would offer $15 for it (I have it listed as starting at $50). I hate lowballers. *LOL*
I love the idea of the trailer, let me know how that goes! Funny how that fellow wanted to pay you $15 for what he claimed was ‘worthless’ 😆
Hey man, I can watch your content all day. And whoever is complaining about you talking "excessively' can lean how a mute button works. Just because they know everything shouldn't have them in their feelings over you sprinkling knowledge (and good vibes) as you share your treasure hunting with the rest of us.
Keep doing the thing.
😆🤣 thanks man! I guess that’s the internet for you eh?
Better than you found it! 👌
make more like this
K! 😊
Bottle picking videos are always appreciated, one question, how do you figure out the best times of the week to go bottle picking?
There’s no single answer.. I like going on the same morning the trucks come out and just getting in right before they come through, but sometimes those spots will have been picked by someone else the night before. So if you don’t mind using a flashlight, the night before could be good too. I really like mondays though because people throw stuff out on the weekends and the trucks don’t do pickup on Monday in my city. But none of that counts if someone gets there before you! So as for how, I just check the same place a few different times and in different days until I learn how things work in that area 👍
@@thubprint not sure about Canada. Here in the states each city's website lists the daily garbage pickups with region & day along with their respective holiday schedule. Hope this helps the newer pickers. 🙃
I've never seen a rolling Tonneau cover! Ya learn something every day! I want that pot! I think it's completely laudable that you recycled the garage door! Well done, Thub.
Well I *wanted* to scrap it!! Lol. I don’t think the cover fits my truck sadly, but at least it’s aluminium 👍
@@thubprint Ya left it better than you found it! Bravo!
Empire metal ,i find pay pretty decent especially Cooper,I was there today
I find they give the best prices on most stuff these days, I was just surprised on the rims and batteries because I used to get more at a different spot. (A closer spot, lol)
Thumbs UP
I scrap metal too. Im in the u.s . How many of your back glasses of your trucks have you broke out? You need whats called a head ache rack for your window. 😢
Great Videos! You need to get one of those x-ray analyzers so that you know the composition of the metals, because I suspect you sometime sell magnesium as aluminum, or sometime finding rare earth stuff, especially from that lab equipment, keep up the great work.
Theres a reason that we usually only see those metal analyzers in decent sized scrap yards, they cost in the range of 8-12,000 bucks for a used one or cheep quality and upwards of 30,000 for a brand new reputable brand. Pretty hard to justify that cost just to make a few cents (or at best a few more dollars) more a pound when sorting your metals.
I would LOVE to have one of those though! I wonder if anyone will throw one out? 🤔😂
i like watching you dumpster dive. you seem to know where to find good stuff! 👍 who is it that is helping film and unload? you were working with your son once. could this be your daughter? she’s darling. those light foam things was a good lesson learned. now you know what to avoid. keep on keeping on!
That’s actually my partner! She doesn’t always have time to join me but it’s fun when she does ☺️
Plumbing bin for the win! She touched your bun. lol
😆🤣
Hi Thub. Great video. Please stay safe and healthy and take care of yourself and your family members. To all members also. Talk to you later my friend. ☺☺☺😇😇😇
I will, thank you as always! Wish you warmth and love 👌
Your welcome. Cool. ☺☺☺😇😇😇
Just letting you know community on 10th ave is doing renovations looks like decent scrap in their parking lot.
Edit: ave not street
Great content ty
Great find to buy those for $40, my rig is a 97 silverado 👍👀
I had no idea they were such a pricy piece of equipment! Glad to have them though. Never had a Chevy myself but I’ve heard the Silverado 1500 can take a beating!
Great adventure and treasures🤗
I *loved* it 😊
You want to install bull bars for those pesky bulls..

Alberta!
Can we pick up recycle from any trash cans? Anywhere
Ive learned that sometimes its better to not bother selling aluminum rim i just scrap them dont get me wrong. I sell stuff that i find while scrapping but it i cant sell it in a resonable amount of time than it gets scrapped
100%! I always list the rims I have in decent condition, but they never seem to sell well. In fact I don’t think I’ve ever sold one.. I’m not sure why, but they’re good scrap!
you tell that lady (leave it better than you found it)
and throw them as you wish
Really, a foredom flex shaft and bits? It the trash?
Which one was the silver vacuum looking dude on Star Wars? C3po or r2d2? Well....u left him in the trash can...lol
I thought about him, probably could have fixed and sold it.. that’s the tragedy of trying to be fast and efficient, some potentially great finds get skipped
Are pop and soup cans worth picking up?
If they pay 10 cents like michigan sure
Soda cans are great! Soup cans would be just steel shred so I don’t think I’ll start on those anytime soon
@@thubprint Awesome! Thanks for the reply.
This video went great for you. Why? Had a lot of advertisment and watched it all through. Guess same length in whole like the video itself :-) Enjoy watching your bottle picking vid, too. Stay safe and blessing.
Another friend mentioned there were a lot of ads! I’m not sure why, it seems like there are a lot more these days and I just hope it doesn’t push users away. Thanks for saying hi though!
Yes, this week there are a lot od ads every where ??? Usually this amaout of ads is combined with national holyidays or seasonal events. My longest ads so far was 30 min, unfortunately not while watching your latest video. I do not know how the ads do pay by time or by content? Oh a new live picking, hunting would be awesome. Stay safe, blessings and a happy keep doing the thing;-)
I’m kinda new watching your channel so I’ve got a question, why “Pandas”?
Also do you get American pennys in your change?😂
We get every kind of American money in our change, I have a collection of it lol. The banks won’t let me exchange it if it isn’t bills though so idk what I’m going to do with it.
By ‘Pandas’ I’m referring to trash pandas, meaning raccoons haha. Just being cute!

Hi love the videos. Can i ask a question, you know when your taking scrap from skips belonging to waste management companies in your country is that classed as stealing from that company? Please dont take my question as a bad one im just curious as thinking of starting and its something i am worried about :)
Totally fair question! I don’t honestly know what happens when the bin companies receive the rented out bins back, I have to assume they separate large scrap out because their volume must be so high it would be foolish not to. But my understanding is the laws are primarily concerned with private property and trespassing. So if the person paying for the bin to be there doesn’t mind then it’s really no concern of the waste management company.
The only ones I completely ignore are the metal recycling bins, those are clearly marked and the metal is being recycled for profit so there would be somebody upset about it going missing.
@@thubprint that totally makes sense and never thought of it that way :) thank you so much for the reply and keep up the good work! Kind regards
Support Your Local Scrapper.
Is it legal in canada to go dumpster diving. here in the State im in and most states ive encountered it is very illegal. if its something of real value ill still grab it but doing this free range is not advised.
Yep! Mostly... the laws here are more concerned with private property. So if someone takes issue with you then it’s a trespassing charge
Dude...if those rims r straight...put them online for sale...I have a Chevy trailblazer which come with an odd sized rim bolt pattern...so normal Chevy rims won’t fit on my truck...and trying to find a replacement rim is almost impossible...so I’ve paid up to $100 per rim for one that’s in sub par shape because it matched the other three I have and it took me forever to find it lol...so Chevy trailblazer, gmc envoy, raineirs, certain Saab’s, bravadas, all have the same size oddball rims that r hard to find especially in good condition...I’ve bent 3 rims on my truck over the years and am down to only 4 rims and no spare lol
Absolutely, even if a person only lists 1 for sale there are plenty of people who crack one and would rather replace it than the whole set. My issue is I try to stick to local sales because I’m lazy and specific rims take a really long time locally compared to online
👍👍
If the winch works, keep.it until.you can afford the "toys stuff" you can always sell it later if necessary... winches are expensive but are great to have in snow. Country ... sorry bout the dots...
😆 the overuse of ‘dot dot dot’ is a bit of a peeve of mine but mostly because it confuses me. I definitely want the toy stuff, and the winch works so I’m not gonna just scrap it!
An update - I found two different iMac laptops and them 7 (!!!) Lenovo ThinkBooks in a dumpster tonight, along with other goodies - including an old (???) CRT TV/monitor that if the deGaussing wire is cop;per-coated aluminum *LIKE THE LAST THREE TVs i HAVE FOUND & SCRAPPED THEN I AM GIVING UP ON THEM ALTOGETHER!!!*
Aside from that, those 9 laptops made tonight well worth it!
Beavis and butthead awesome shirt.
Uh huh huh huhh 😆
I have a buyer who pays $6.00 USD for 5 gallon metal paint cans. He makes them into stoves that burn alcohol, wood and sawdust and sells them for $20-25 each.
Gotta spend money to make money. Big toys bring more subs
Hey with that in mind, I can’t afford *not* to!
