There's a reason people keep coming back. People like you and your content. You come over as a genuinely nice guy and the leave it better than you found it is something we can all live by. Your videos are amusing and informative and most things transfer to us in your international audience. Long may you continue doing the thing
You really are a class above other scrappers the way you genuinely do leave it better than you found it, makes wonderful viewing and I hope we all learn from you even just doing some of that. Love your videos and enthusiasm. Keep it up my friend 👍
I do pest control in New Orleans I always tell my customers i leave it better than I found it and I get good reviews from them and tips . Thank you homie god has definitely blessed you
I tell ya, Thub, you have changed my life, too. Bottle picking, shop talk, treasure hunting, pancake breakfasts . . I come away from all of them feeling just a bit better about the world in general. I think I'd be tickled to watch you paint the garage. You just have such a light about you. Question - how did those soffit looking pieces get all that dirt caked on them? (I knew the minute I saw that side yard that you were going to clear out the actual rubbish. :)
Thanks so much Molly ☺️ and I was wondering the same thing!! I had thought it must have been nice or birds or something, but joshmallon seems to be familiar with the stuff aha
How to have a great adventure. Step one - leave the house! Step 2 - have an open mind and embrace whatever comes along with a positive attitude! Awesome work Thub! 👌😊
I admire your patience, Thub........ breaking down stuff on site and all. When I am scrapping, my excitement keeps me running wide open all the time. When I find a big score, I get so nervous I could thread a sewing machine while it's running. Keep it coming brother!
Thub you are appreciated for the vibrant entertaining aspect that you bring to the RUclips scrap community. Keep doing and being your imaginative entertaining self. We I believe are truly blessed as you allow us to be a part of the journey. Happy scrap hunting and keep leaving things better than you find them ☺️
Loved the Adventure. I enjoy these as much as anything else you post. You have become my most viewed RUclipsr and now watch every sing video. Keep up the hard work my friend!
What a great day to make the rounds! Making contacts with contractors can really be beneficial! I insulated a 40' piece of my old 1890-1915 with 2" foam board scraps out of a off of a construction site where they were insulating the foundations. Keep your eyes open for foam board for the walls and ceiling of your shop. You don't have to infill in between the 2X4' you can just go on top of the rafters. Which is what I am going to do with my old garage that looks an awful lot like yours (no insulation) but you have a cement slab I have old 2X12's laid on dirt. Which means none of my wood projects I build have a chance of being square. sigh... However, having a warm place to work and hang out is essential. Great job Thub!
I used to install siding and soffit and we’d always save the aluminum scraps. Of course the boss always got the money from it, but it added up. That was way before I scrapped for fun.
Aww hey man you're welcome!! Thank you for entertaining us through everything that's happened and on a personal level i want to thank you personally for your videos because you don't know how many times I've had a bad day and i see a new video of yours and you know what that video makes my day better than it was before your video. Keep going and just keep doing you you know we're here. This is from a proud trash panda!
Yay treasure hunting!! I spend a lot of time showing what is inside things, weighing in and crunching the numbers etc too but I really do love watching your diving/street scrapping videos as we just don't have the same wonderful diving opportunities this side of the pond and my street scrapping is very very different lol. It is also so satisfying seeing you find so many little goodies in a dumpster that looks almost empty but the best bit, as ever, is you modelling to the world just how it should be done and hopefully passing on your fantastic ethos to others 👍🙂 I can relate, having my little channel has actually changed my life too, no exaggeration, this community means the world to me! Holy Moley.....aluminium score and bless you for going the extra mile at the side of the house!!!
Awesome plus you got the air conditioner to turn down there’s a lot of money in that. Great video I bought that strip Meister that you showed the video of works great I am in Central New York.
You have inspired me and several of my friends. Unfortunately, dumpsters are practically watched by armed guards in my (USA) Tennessee/Georgia area. You are the Favorite among our group.
Thanks so much! I do live in a pretty fortunate area for this type of thing. Sorry to hear your spots are few and far between. Could always talk to some of the shops and maybe find some who would stash scrap for you?
Love the creative packing job! So frustrating to come upon a bin like that and have space limitations and have time constraints and have traffic challenges and have...a great pay day!
Hope you enjoyed that aluminum. My first scrap experience was cleaning up aluminum siding left at the side of a siding company owners house. $125 later and I was hooked on scrap. And since watching your videos I've learned so much I can stretch my metal money a lot further. Thanks for all the awesome content thub.
Man! Finally no snow! You ever think about contacting siding companies and just having them call you when they do jobs like that? I bet if you bring them some donuts or something it could be a gold mine
No, thank you for the great content and our increased knowledge. Oh, and that Polywater J is a lubricant you use for feeding insulated wire through other rubber items such as grommets. It's good to have if you ever need it, but it's a lot to store if you don't.
You and Scrap and Pallet Man have inspired me to start scrapping! I find it relaxing to break stuff down. And figuring out how some of it works is a nice experience too.
Amazing just how much you channel has grown.. sub's back when you had 3k subs now look at you going HollyWood with 65,000+ subs! keep up the amazing work.
Thanks for being here 😊 It’s been an adventure for sure! So many different videos along the way. I almost feel bad for more recent subs, they’ve missed out on alot of surprises!
@@thubprint Yeah it has been think I found you when you had something about pokemon go, people can always go back and watch your video's and the fun times of you planting trees.
Inspiration achieved! I am in need of extra money and finding a second job that is worthwhile that I won’t lose my mind doing has proven to be quite the pain. I have a truck and a bunch of tools (I do live in an apartment complex, so I don’t have much space 🤷♂️) nonetheless, I figure I’ll give scrapping a go! I see metal stuff everywhere where I live, so hopefully it will be well worth the effort. I’ll just adopt your attitude about it all and call it an adventure! Hell, I might even film it if it’s at all as interesting as what you’re doing. Keep on making these videos and just keep on keepin on! ✌️
"...a reason to get out of the house," is exactly what is required, but I'm doing it differently. I get a lot of scrap from FB contacts, then once I've picked up the scrap, and today I got 48 brass cabinet knobs, I look for a geocache to find in this new spot. In the past, I would have used the gas just to geocache, but now I get a little in return from the scrap value.
Oh that sounds like a great combo! As I said I’m running out of games I want to pick up so I might need something new. Maybe geocaches are the next move!
I know you said U didn’t have the time - but those brake rotors usually go for a few pennies more than scrap price - I used to junk them too- years ago when I didn’t know it
2:30 is crazy stuff. Take the item and work on it at home or leave it. Don't break stuff down in someone's driveway, where you leave parts that give a flat tire.
Last week I got $1.28 a pound for aluminum, highest ive seen around here Southern Ontario. soffit/trim coil/miscellaneous cut off. Pays for the gas in the truck
Really good video, I like these ones the best, have you got some business cards made up to handout when you come across crews like that? Keep up the good work!
You need to throw your wire cutters in the trash go to Lowe's and get you a pair of 8-in bolt cutters you will love them they do everything your wire cutters do and more cuz they're both others they cut through all kinds of little things
So I’m in Arizona and I found about 500lbs of steel. Cleaned them up and all that. Found a heavy as hell I-beam. Took it all to the scrapyard after looking up the prices online. It said .25-.65 for steel and it said nothing else about it. Clearly not the price for shred but I figured I’d clean em up and get the best price available. Didn’t happen because, “until further notice” all steel is .04/lb! So I got $17 for it all. So yea, I just about gave up with trying to do this thing and then, the next day, I found a roof mounted ac unit! Tore it apart and got over 80lbs of ac radiators, 2 big electric motors and like 20-30lbs of copper. I haven’t brought them in yet because I’m trying to build up a supply, but I know it will for sure be worth a lot more than $16. New goal is to find the good stuff and not care so much about steel. 👍✌️
