- Well it's a beautiful day to have a working vehicle! With that in mind we hit the streets to see what sorts of scrap metal and treasure we can find, but not before clearing out all the scrap weight that's been taking up space around the house, waiting for a car that works! Also we met up with a friend testing a surplus of scraps at the scrapyard. Wahoo!
Wire stripper I use: amzn.to/3sirg18

I remember when thub was just starting doing cans and bottles mostly. He didn't know a whole lot about scrapping. It's been a joy to watch his journey.
Indeed, I was in the first 1000's. What an adventure it's been and still is!
Same here, guys. I've seen that beard come and go a few times lol
It definitely has
Amazing is what it is.
Come on guys....lets get Thub to 100k!! He definitely deserves it! 👍
That giant plate is worth like $500 as plate, and like $15 as scrap. Use it as a workbench top for your welding bench. You don't have a welding bench? Exactly, you need a welding bench.
I am done. Over the past two days, I have hauled over a ton of scrap to my local yard, made just over $200US, and I am out of the scrap game. I don’t have a truck. I am old and I hurt. I need a “real” job, i.e., one that can pay my bills. But I won’t stop watching this channel. Trash panda 4 lyfe! Good luck, and just know, even if I am not commenting, I am still subbed and watching. Keep doing the thing, y’all!!!
The higher effort videos help drive viewers to your channel. That’s how I found you and now I am here for the treasure hunts
Thanks! That’s the ideal outcome, I think it’s pretty clear the more produced ones bring people in better than mixed treasure hunt vids
Scrap gods needed blood🩸...... and they had it... 😁... It happens all the time my friend...good decision to take a break 👍😁
Oooowwwee!! Great finds Thub!! And I sympathize with you on the bloodshed ! 😣. Yessir scrap life has its hazards. As I’m no stranger to the pain as well, lol Hoping and praying for a speedy recovery and healing! Great job leaving it better than you found it👍
You could always just make your scrap hauls half the length and upload more frequently.. but I'm sure you'll know what to do
Hello Thub!!
I am a subscriber from Sweden and i really enjoy Your videos.
It makes me want to start scrapping, I have a small Copper stash and a even smaller brass stack that i am slowly building up, i see it as a long time project and keep adding to it when i come over the metals.
A Q&A would be nice when You reach 100,000 subscribers.
Thank You for Your videos and positive vibes!
Great idea
Man! You keep doing what you're doing my friend i know it's a lot of work to create specially having to do it each and every week i don't know how to do it! Thank you for what you have given to us and done for us. We love your videos because you love making videos and we appreciate it every single one that you put out. Keep doing what you're doing and just go with the flow. I'm so happy you got one of your rides going!.
Ahhhh. All that wire!!! I could use that on my solar panels. Thats a dream. Looks like you had a busy day tho. Some blood shed shows you are working hard. Only disappointed in one thing. You did not use duct tape on the light.
Already subscribed 😊 i like your job is pretty neat, God bless you 🙏
Hope you get to 100K subscribers quickly!! Also, I know it takes many hours to produce one of your informative videos, and I enjoy watching them. I also enjoy watching your scrapping videos, but I don't expect you to do both at the same time. Keep doing what you're doing! 😊
Love your channel bro keep them videos coming
The informative videos are like when Mr. Rogers went to businesses in the neighborhood. It worked for him, it'll work for you too.
Ty 😊
Less than 3k subs to go, Thub! I don’t think I’ve ever been happier to see someone hit the 100k sun mark! You deserve it too, bro! Cleaning the Earth up and all- I even enjoyed the tree planting vids- for some reason I came across one on here a while back and watched a bunch 😂 but it’s wild to see how much you can actually clean an area up just recycling metal AND you get to make money while doing it! Also, pretty wild to see how much metal you’ve gotten rid of that would have just ended up in the landfill instead! You’re gonna get that 100k VERY VERY SOON! Happy as hell for you!
Thanks SD, stoked you’ve been a part of the journey! It’s been a saga for sure. It might have been fun to be more open about the growth of the ad revenue so everyone could really see how far everything has come, but I’m glad treeplanting (and fruit picking!) was a chapter as well. Even if it was a pain and took away from videos here and there 🙂
Your the man thub!
That ford 9 inch rear end housing is worth way more then scrap value!!! already pulled, some car enthusiasts would pay a 5 to 800 hundred dollars depending on what's going on in the carrier but what's wrong with it or is nothing at all wrong with it? if it's a open diff or posi unit more money if posi unit😊
I agree with whoever suggested having the researched high production videos as extra videos instead of replacing normal adventure videos. But I understand that those types of video taking infinitely more effort and time to produce so I think maybe you should release one high end video a month replacing the normal video for that week. This way your viewers still get to watch a similar amount of adventure videos and you can produce high end videos at a good pace.
Another reason I think it would to not overdo it on the high end videos is I feel like they are more hit and miss. I think most of your regular viewers watch your videos because they enjoy the scarp metal adventures but not every viewer enjoys every type of high end video. For example I don't like the Catalytic convertor video as much as the normal videos.
@2:33 you scrapped good hand tools?! you could almost surely sell these online for much more than scrap value. personal use of tools is another option. @2:50 the scrap wood must be disposed of too, sometimes at an expense. it's about maximizing value for you and for society.
can we get this guy a truck!?!?!?
At least you didn't lose any toes dropping that plate of steel !!!
That’s what I’m saying!! It had real potential to be catastrophic
Have you ever considered strapping down maybe some flat metal or something that would fit on your rooftop ?
Almost there! bro I'm so proud of you for keeping strong through all of the trials you've been facing yet you are still smiling and that takes a lot of patience, May GOD keep you and bless you mightily my brother Amen :)
im here for the chaos.
27:22 lmao that vacuum is an easy fix for like 12$, the shit people throw out...
On your tires with rims..i cut right down through the top of the tread cut right into the steel rim to cut the heavy cables goes real fast..also same for alum. Rims
If indoubt knock on door 👌
Just hit the subscribe button it will make it easier to watch the new posts
Ty!
Been a fan for a long time Thub! I will admit after hearing the part after you saying 80% aren't subbed, that touched home for me because I have to admit when i first started watching you back in the old microwave break down days, i was not subbed back then, but soon after! been a a fan for a for a long time Thub and you got me into scrapping for the goodies! And i hope u hit 100k very very soon, I say less than 2 wks man! Hey i have a question, how can i tell if my scrapyard is not giving me right prices? I'll bring in iron, steel ,cast iron, etc. And all they'll give me is tin category, is that right?
Thanks for hanging around! It’s been a journey, gone through a few chapters now and learned a lot. As far as your prices it really comes down to whatever the scrapyard is going to pay, if it’s all shred as far as they’re concerned there’s not much that can be done. Cast iron is a bit less than shred for me and brake rotors are a little more, and most yards around me don’t pay more for prep (which is why I go to the one I do). I guess you’d better just ask them but it probably averages out to the same most of the time. The prep and rotors are the only ones I’d be annoyed about if you get a fair bit of those
Thub, you rerally need a new pair of coveralls for sure. Those have seen better days!
Been a fan of yours for two years now, I have watched every single video of yours. Although I personally am not a huge fan of those videos about catalytic converter videos, I did learn some things and I'm thankful to you for that. All that being said, you can't please every single person all of the time. You keep being your awesome self and I will continue to support your channel and watch every video, cause I just really enjoy your personality.
Thanks so much! There’s all kinds of videos I intend to do but my focus will always be seeking to create value for the audience in some way. Sometimes that might be researching something I find interesting and sharing it in a fun way, maybe trying to answer a question, or even 30-50min of cruising around with curiosity and a sense of adventure.
You are are very artistic and whatever you do produce it will reflect your passions. Hope you get to 100k subscribers before summer ends.
One thing you should never do is use an angle grinder by your windows on your car it will burn dimples in the glass. With that said love your show ever well explained and educational. Very calm and awesome attitude a joy for the whole family to watch
Dumpster diving videos are kind of evergreen, maybe not in viewership, but at least the content is. I found your channel a while a ago and binged through many older videos. Thank you for all the work and positivity.
Really really enjoyed this one. Couple of great scrap runs, and some excellent diving and pick ups. Thub, I had an idea, that parts truck, just cut the damaged top off the cab, and turn it into a convertible open top truck, done !! 😂🤣👍
Lol, maybe if I get both engines running nice that’s an option haha
Between January and March I watched every video your channel ever published. Some of us enjoy and watch all the old ones
Thanks so much! There’s so many of them now, that’s not an easy feat 😆 I’m fond of all of them too, each a step on a larger journey
very interesting seeing various items in no particular order, calms the mind
Nice hall the scrap yards up here. Well I should say down here in New York will take the handles on all the tools and give you metal price with the wood on it.
Awesome job Thub, you deserve that 100k sub milestone. Maybe another Q&A to celebrate? Haven’t done one in a loooong time
Btw found your channel and started watching recommended from other big scrapping channels like Mike, ewaste Ben, Project Shop fl, S&P man, etc. and never looked back
M8 you're a BTO ( big time operator ) getting parts for your vehicle the cheap way 👍. That's the best way to recycle and save some loonies . Keep up the good work. God bless y'all.
Ignore the naysayers. You've got some good videos. The sense of humour helps...and that poor car.
But believe me wire makes more mony for the room.
Hey I was wondering what you do with the rubber on the tires after you've scraped them?
Here in Calgary our landfills don’t charge for tires as long as it’s less than 12, so I just drive them over there when I have a stack
Great vids mate keep them comming
Lost me when you destroyed good tools .
Xena is way cooler than Xenu!
Common sense isn't that common
it's SO AWESOME that you listen to drum n bass!!! we are a rare breed here in north America... heck, rare across the world.... but it's what I LOVE (or should I say What WE LOVE!!) - And it's DOUBLEY AWESOME that we're both scrappers too! ... I guess this mean I gotta start a youtube channel now too? SOUND GOOD TO ME!!! lol
The sad part about those refrigerators in the beginning of the video is that they are probably from a bunch of apartments or dorms just upgrading and they probably mostly work. 😢
Most likely yes. All my best finds are from situations where it made sense to the owner to just throw everything out. I like finding great stuff but it feels like a massive waste. They also had a mountain of hundreds of stainless steel commercial coffee machines, I’d guess those all worked too
Back when I subscribed I heard you were in Canada so I thought it would be moose hunting videos............
4:14 that metal pole at your head is not safe at all... nice video though :D
👍
Man you need a pick up truck.
2:07 someone did an oops
Just helped with my +1 - FULLY belled, whistled and focused. Hahha. It's interresting to see treasures coming from the innocent minds of dumster renters, contractors with extra fat and just the general drive that people have to simply not get in the loop, triangle i should say - R.R.R. (with arrows!)
Put a leatherman in your glove box, actually everyone should! every vehicle should also have a lighter, sweat shirt, wool socks and cap, a 9x7 tarp, and a small package of dried fruit, specially in Canada!
haha those robins !! Been watching your stuff, and im hooked LOL... i live in michigan and when i seen those robins i knew it all to well LOL, they attack everything oh and Robins are the michigan " state bird " LOL
Always remove your weather stripping, rubber seals and rubber screen welting Before you Brake apart or bend your aluminum window, screen & Door Frames It will cut your processing time in half
After finding all that wire in one bag, I'd of checked the others. GL on 100k, I'll be happy when I hit 2k
I enjoy you channel and appreciate the work you put into editing I bet its a ton of work. You voice is really good to. Also I like the body camera spill I have done that before. I have cut my fingers a lot scrapping like that, don't know how many band aides I have went through.
Those JBL Control Series speakers were a great score!... He was a little confused on "not needing an amp".... he meant you didn't need a dedicated power amp; but you do still need an amp of some sort (there is an amp in that receiver)
Could you just make a new Park bench ? since you got the two cast steel end.. free pallet wood ... you'd make way more $ ... how about bird nest or feeders from pallet or scrap wood from dumpster? Or dog houses ? You seem like a smart guy with ambition.. just asking
Great job thub! I used to work in a 24 hr gas station in Eastern Washington, we changed some tires, we were always pulling tires off of rims and installing them, so when I see you using a saw I kind of wince at your efforts. You might want to go down to a tire store that does on the road tire changes and get a ride along and learn how to quickly change tubeless tires or just suck up to them and get an intro to changing tires w/o a machine. Those guys know how to change tires in snow, rain, night etc... it'll save you some labor!.. Yeah, right, like you have spare time to do that.. Again, Great job! I always enjoy your vids!
youtube is mental lol, im watching a guy film himself picking out of rubbish bins on the other side of world while im enjoying a cup of tea 😆, keep scrapping mate, ive always got my face in a skip 👍
The video quality is booming
Good video dude! Love the transitions at the end - great sense of humour!
Lol, probably not even necessary but why not 😆
Not to be captain obvious but anyway to make a roof rack from ski roof holders and some wood to make something to hold a bunch of recycles , to limit runs 😊 just thinking of more space for econo car. Just some kind of recycle rack, o say ski holder because they clamp to roof of cars and can be mounted to and removed easy if needed but that's just me thinking😂😂😂
Every time I go to the junk yard, I load up a whole trailer with scrap metal, spen hours loading it and get $40 to 50. All sain and done with gas it's a push and I lose a whole day.
Brilliant mate thanks for the good ideas 💡 bin doing scrap a while but I've really learned alot off you about Brass and copper 😉
Hey thub while we were having a little bit of a smokw situation down here in the dc region i started thinking "how bad might they have it down at canada" than i remebered one of my fav youtubers lives down there (You) hoping yiu and your fam are staying safe out there ! God bless you !
You almost had a Bob Marley song " Stabilize It ". ☺ 🏴☠
I dig all your videos that ive watched, thanks for making cool and informative content brotha!
Nothing more satisfying than "killing "a BBQ. And my wife uses the tool handles to hold up the tomatoes!
Find a few tire shops that will save valve stems. The part the valve core screws into is yellow brass

I felt that trip --> Smashed / cut finger. Just a couple of weeks ago I was unloading my previous days dumpster dive out of the back of my truck, and I was stupidly wearing flip flops. Well, the flip flop got caught on something and I ended up falling out the back of my truck and the BBQ I was unloading fell on top of me. Smacked my head pretty good and got a wicked gash on my knee but that was it (luckily). Definitely put me in a sour mood for a while though. Hope you heal up quick!
Best of luck getting your truck fixed! You were one of the OG channels I watched a couple of years back that got my wife and I into scrap metal / dumpster diving! Last year we dumpster dove enough scrap to buy a truck, and this year we are having an absolute blast with it and started our own little channel!
Oh yeah, mine definitely has me rethinking my footwear choice as well. Steeltoes always seem pointless until you smash yourself haha. Glad your tumble wasn’t anything permanent! And thanks for being here, I’ll have to check out your videos too!
That big honkin slab of steel plate would work great for a small demo table. Get some angle iron legs and brace it up before welding it together and you've got a table you won't worry about breaking.
I'm soooooo confuuuused....random transitions, head spinning, I think I saw Thub's stunt double, and who's that long-haired actor?!?? I need to go to bed. PS: 97.9K subscribers at 12:55am Thurs June 8, 2023, better than watching election results role in.
😆👍 glad you’re still here! This one was a bit of a scramble in hindsight haha
I only getting 7 cents for shred
It would be great to see with a pickup or trailer or bouth because i think you good do Great and i likehow you talk about breakdown recycleing .
Rumors have it that Thub is giving away 100 LBS of steel when he hits 100K Subscribers. WINNER PAYS SHIPPING AND HANDLING 😂😂
😆👌 I love that idea
Now you should know better than to leave Home without tools. Like you can pass up on a pile of scrap.
I miss your video where you did some furniture restoration at your sister's place + the one you were fixing the seat of your moped; they were some of the first videos of yours that I watched.
Dont think i agree with your decision to cut and scrap good condition shovels and rakes but alright ill give you a pass this time
Dumpster diving videos are awesome to watch like how much stuff people throw out like throwing money away
I hear ya on editing time. Love the videos brotha! Cheers from Texas
Think about freeze plugs on back side of motor at least.
I joined your channel for the "how to" vids, but enjoy the diving too. I bought a Stripmeister based on your review and have never regretted it! Keep doing the thing! 🙂🙂🙂
My local yards invite you to kindly toss your coaxial cable right into the trash can lol not even worth a penny a lbs
why dont you do some funny style adds that will earn you some income without adding much time to make.
Don't feel bad if u can't make 2 vids at a time mate, make sure you get paid first that's more important 👍
Perhaps you could have a 2nd channel dedicated to the more educational videos.
What is up with that smashed black pickup truck in the start of the video?
I guess you dont answer questions about scrap metal. Have not seen a response yet!!
you left that rollator behind, they sell for as much as $60 used
AV Control Center got an integrated Amplifier as well :)
Hell yeah Thub, you're workin out there!!
I used to hit tire stores for the lead. There is about half a bucket a week at some of the big tire stores.
I liked your catalytic converter video. I saw it as one of your deep dives into how to scrap a ....
or how much of what can you get from a certain type or collection of whatever, but from an industry standpoint. Because their profits are based on market conditions, on a larger scale.
Thank you! I thought it was super interesting and I really enjoyed the opportunity to answer one of my most persistent questions regarding scrap metal
Your not a Scrapper anymore. Your a RUclipsr now...
Put it in your shop than you can listen to music while you tear stuff apart 😊
I thought i had Subbed ages ago ... anyhoo i Re Subbed 🎉❤
