Keep fighting Thub--everyone with your work ethic is rewarded eventually. You really are an inspiration.
Thank you for showing the strike outs, the empty dumpsters. Lots of people think every dumpster is gold but 90% are strike outs
Yup, took all day just to find the one decent one
UNFORTUNATELY they’ve made “dumpster diving” a ticketable offense in my city/small town - our New Mayor a few years back, initiative to clean the city up- that was One of the things he did 🙄
one step forward and two steps back is what it takes sometimes when learning to run marathons and getting those trophy's of victory and success. Patience is a virtue as long as you never give up you can succeed. I always say fail fast and fail forward
You are the epitome of the word survival. You will get it at all cost. If i was a rich man i would give you a truck.
He has a truck it is just broken currently
Tommy, nice of you to say. I would too.
Sounds to me like whoever is working on his truck doesn't know what they are doing. He should have had his truck back a long time ago.
This man is a hustler respect👊🏼
Hi yeah, Thubprint, Scrap Farm is doing what your have ahead of you, so good luck.
Nice switch of language!!
Using "get to" instead of "stuck with"!!
Great positivity Thub!!😁❤
So sad that’s happened too you Thub, you work so hard. But if anyone can do this you can. 👏👏👏
Good scrap run too! Loved it. ❤️💙
Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do. Everyone has a choice, they can either quit and give up or they can keep moving forward…
I’ve been in your situation before with engines and I think you’re doing the right thing in getting the donor vehicle. You will save a ton of money and gain experience and skills. All the best and in doing the job, God bless you, and don’t forget to budget extra time in getting the new engine running good and all the electrical straightened out once it’s all back together.
Awesome truck update news!
Please get a torque wrench and some jackstands!
Glad truck back take time to heal her ❤
And at the end you get to take the leftover bits to the scrapyard ❤😎😎
This guys personality is just good vibez.
Keep doing your thang sir. 🤘
No sweat Thub you got this. I will continue to watch your videos. The small stone in your path. But I believe that you won't stumble. Keep your head up. You got this.
Mouse nest? That was a counter-weighted hanging light fixture. Neat piece of engineering and they make total sense when you see them in place. I was going to ask about the smoke- we have it even here in So. Cal. - but .. . nope. Don't need to ask.
Yeah it got pretty gross for a few days!
The bottle depot looks like the coolest damn place in the universe. we need one in America.
Dang, that was not the truck update I was hoping for. I've got years of experience and a mechanic on speed dial (brother). If I'm in town, I can spare a few hours and bring tools you might not have. I'll even GIVE you 2 Axle stands if you promise to use them.
Finally! You are getting ever closer to your RUclips plaque. And this one is well earned. You deserve it, Thub. A great hello from Montreal!
Re: Rebar, you gotta know your local yard on stuff. Mine doesn't take rebar, can't find their own buyer for it, so I'd be passing that up. Of course, everyone is happy to take lovely copper off your hands, so that's always good.
Good luck with your truck. Had an ads called Tesler for about 45 minutes and watched it to the end. Hope you get a lot of 💰 for it and blessings from Germany
This video is SUPER fun, reminds me of @VidVulture's adventures if you've ever seen his channel. Love to see more first person ride alongs with footage, it's a relaxing vibe
Glad you finally got your truck back Been enjoying your videos and your unique approach to scrapping.
Hopefully your new truck helps get your original back on the road. 👍👍⚡⚡🆒🆒💯💯🏆🏆🎉🎉
Your fan
Robert K
I had the same model scooter! First set of motor two wheels i ever had. Those Hondas just keep on going and going. Happy Scrapping! :)
It’s a great little ride! Not easy to find body panels these days, but the engine is sure built to last
I am sooo frustrated for you with the truck debacle. I'm sure the dipstick mechanic isn't paying for all the damage, and I'm pretty sure that our Thub won't call him out by name, even though it might help some fellow Calgarians to avoid getting involved with the same idiot. Given that we are roaring in on having 100K subscribers here, wouldn't it maybe be a good time to start a "Thub Truck Fund?" I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting to contribute to providing reliable transportation for our favorite free entertainment source.
Me thinks THUB is a proud guy. If anything, may be Glen might be able to help, as well as Chris to help work on bringing the truck into running order. There are many friends who are giving whatever they can. It is items that THUB has to salvage himself. Giving words of encouragement counts, too
Your out of your mind!!! I love it!!!!❤❤❤
Fyi made me feel like GTA all over again! 6stars on the moped
You should set up a gofundme to help bring the costs down, I hate to see you suffer as a result of other people's carelessness! You the man Thub
11:31: Nice little pedestrian right-of-way there between the houses. Wish we had more of those in the States. But then again, there's a reason why we can't have nice things...
Me and the fam watch your videos every Friday evening and look forward to it. Thanks!
Good luck with the engine swap…I hope you get the right information and help with that
Best of luck, Thub. I can relate. My 4.5 tonne scrap truck has been off the road for nearly a year with a blown clutch and bad master cylinder. (I'm convinced that my old mechanic never bled my clutch cylinders properly because they used to fail regularly every 2 to 3 years.) It sucks that I'm still paying registration but if I cancel it, the repairs needed to re-certify the truck will be more costly than the year's registration.
I bought a midrange diesel car that can tow my scrap trailers to tide me over. It has turned out surprisingly well but I can only take one tonne of scrap instead of 3.5 tonnes with my truck. My scrapper is 50km away so that sucks. The scrap must flow and I got a nice car out of it.
I don't think I could deal with a scooter for scrapping but it makes for a fun video. I have considered a bicycle with a homemade trailer in tow to collect cans. Years ago, I made a trailer for my old pushbike from scrap aluminium, old bike wheels and Corflute (Corrugated plastic). It weighed just 7kg but easily carried about 60kg of groceries.
Hang in there my friend. I think your truck solution is the smartest option. The sooner it gets back on the road, the better. Looking forward to the next one. :)
Thub-vulture!!
All the best for the engine swap, looking for'ard to any videos watching you do the thing with it!
This is like the old Grand Theft Auto Pizza delivery only dumpster diving 😂 once you have filled your cart drop it back home and head out for more 😂
FINALLY we get to see the scoot again! Was hoping it'd happen lol
This is some real dedication if I’ve ever seen any
Seriously my friend, have you been watching old VidVulture videos?? LOL! I used a small truck before. Now a Camry.
Way to adapt and overcome! Love it. 🤪 🏴☠
So much to like in this one video. Thank you and good luck.
Just bring back that Mean Machine back to life! You deserve it after all of your pacience!
Love love love this adventure
That was some seriously overdue vehicle maintenance.
I never imagined the filters would be so gross 😆
Like your videos. I'm a scrapper in Arkansas u.s.a been there with the truck problems. I feel for ya man. Good scraping..
Where there's a will, there's a Thub!
the pendulum thing is a counter ballence for the light fixture, you pull down on the lamp shade and the weight goes up and holds the lamp in place.
This is definitely a first for me seeing someone scrapping on a scooter. Legendary bro 🍻 hope you get you car sorted soon, mate. Stay gold
It's crazy Frog Thub Style!
That was a great fun run around on the scooter. You haven't had much luck lately with your scrap transport, but you really shocked me at the end. You are very brave to take on such a project, so I wish you the best of luck and please do keep us posted with your progress. PS: Full marks for keeping your cool, I couldn't. 🤬👍
Hello from maine! I love watching your videos i currently scrap on the side and am in the process of making it my fulltime job keep up the awesome work 💪
To people commenting about missing Thubs truck.
I assure you he misses it more than we do.
Need a basket or bag on front of scoot scoot for counter balance, or some lead weight😂
since you change the filter when you do that you should spray the mass airflow sensor. I'm glad you got new brakes and I'm glad that you greased the rotors were the rim touches the rotors. It helps her next time you got to take off the tire. With all the stopping and going on those back roads you have to have good brakes shocks. 👍 Sometimes on a little bike you can get into places and see things better than you can with a truck even Mike the scavenger used to use a bicycle.
Calgary has really grown since last I was there, back in the late 90s. lol.
On a scooter, the Vid Vulture would be proud of you!
Your truck situation is exactly why I work on all my own stuff. Good luck with the engine swap. I like that you used the scooter to go scrapping. Kinda looked like fun. 👊
It was fun but it was also super sketchy haha
Tried to do something nice for myself taking it to a mechanic and I learned my lesson!
Better than a sharp stick in the eye.
That little moped has a bigger glove box than my Mazda car..wow
Tough break on the truck, mate. Nice sidestep though!
Well, that's a thing I didn't expect from you ever!
Riding a scooter is so much fun.
I had one last year but I sold it and I want to buy a new one but unfortunately I can't because I don't have any money at all 😢
Hell yeah man, love the scooter rig haha!
Cut the top off the black truck put the top from the white truck on the black truck could go buy your windshield go buy you a cheap welder. The white truck is your donor
Just another day of grinding 💪💪
awesome...!!!
Cute scooter!
Good luck with the truck repair Thub!
Good on you. Should be some great videos on this project.
That was a really cool episode! 👍
Me in the first 60 seconds: “He’s gone insane he’s literally scrapping his car, the mad lad.”
Ready for your two steps forward
Dude that’s awesome! Super extremely good on gas too!
I think it was about $4 in gas driving around all day haha
@@thubprint Heck yea let’s go! Love the videos! Keep ‘‘em coming bud! Just started getting Hms on everything at my local scrap yard so blessed rn . I think it’s like you said if you come frequently enough they appreciate the business an kinda rely on its it’s awesome !
In the dry wall dumpster, the stuff on top is the new stuff while underneath is the old with the old wire if any.
Probably more efficient to move on to another skip than to remove half a skip of drywall offcuts on the off chance there's something good underneath
Love the channel. You have inspired me to start my own channel, well, I'm thinnkinnng about it lol. Keep it up. Nice to see a fellow Canadian scrapper 🤠
Just gotta do it! The first couple dozen (maybe 100) videos will suck and nobody will watch them so they don’t really matter anyway, you just need to get them done and over with so you can figure out what really works and what you really enjoy. It gets good after the initial slog haha
I could write paragraphs but there’s a wealth of amazing videos from talented people sharing everything you could ever need to know about making the best channel you can. Try it out, you might like it!
Best of luck if you do start your own channel
@@thubprint Well, I did it. First one up, a little into before the picking. Thanks for the reply bro 🤠
Quick tip always take a decent size backpack
Those board games would of bring you bit more money then scrap you could fit into that box behind the scooter 😅 good games they are and going with about $50 as new ones . But I respect the hustle for sure ! Keep going mate
Scrap Vulture would be proud
Don't know anything bout those trucks But I know there will be several small differences, accessories, sensors n so on. Take your time n be sure to take lots of pictures when removing the white trucks engine.
Unfortunately the shop already got a head start and didn’t label anything 😆
It’s gonna be a bit of a trial and error when it comes to reconnecting everything
just keep going forward
I Believe you will swap out all the parts and have a great running truck, and scrap the rest😊😊
This makes me miss my little Yamaha scooter so much.
You sir, are amazing!!! Would love to know you irl 'cause you look like you would be blast to hang out with. Much love from Ontario.
Oh man, he just had to rub it in didn’t he😂🤣😂🤬😩🤯🤷I went to school to be an auto mechanic(am not in the trade atm) but you seem handy enough and as long as you have the tools there is enough information online these days you should have no trouble swapping the engines. Hope goes smooth bro. You got me into “scrapping” in a way. I got into gold/silver bullion bars, rounds and coins as insurance/“investment” a while back and when I saw the price on copper couple years back it intrigued me and found your videos. I’m over the 1,000 lb mark atm of bare bright, 1, 2(saving it all to sell at once except the bare bright, I’m keeping that as “investment”) have a few hundred lbs of bare bright alone...take care.
I've loved following your journey through the last several years. Hopefully you can find a way to get one great, working truck. Keep up your spirits Thub! 👍
hope it all works out for you on the truck i know i would be lost without mine keep up the great videos and take care
I'll stick with my 28 year old Volvo estate. Bigger than a hatchback, smaller than a truck but does 80% of what a truck does. Cheaper insurance too.
great job! I cant be everywhere!
Man, I get angry at the shop that had your truck! Wish ya all the best. Keep at the grind! It sounds like it would be easier to fix up that Ranger than the ole Mazda.
Love it mate! Can’t wait to see the truck project!
Oh man. I hope there is no 4th iteration from moped to bike. The vehicle woes are terrible!
YOU INSPIRED ME TO START GRINDING COPPER YOU ARE A GOAT
Man, copper is OVER $3/lb in my area right now … lol I WISH I could go on some copper runs like this- you could make some good money if you bring in, say 100 pounds or so of the shiny bright
Yea thats not nice
That’s how I feel about steel right now! The price is excellent, and here I am wasting months waiting on someone else to bring my truck back to me lol. Just gotta do whatever you can and not stress over the rest
Yesir
Non-ferrous Jeff has scrappers who come into the scrap yard on bicycles😊.
I do that. Have a bunch of contractors that leave stuff at there shop doors for me. Just bring them a couple of brews once a month and they keep me busy.
I think you definitely need a truck, can’t wait to see you get appliances
Good luck with the swap!
If you do a head gasket you should do the timing chain. Sounds like you should buy a new truck at this point and yes a scrapper needs a truck coming from a fellow scrapper
I think things were different than 10 years ago. Now there are news stories about thieves going into empty buildings and stealing all the copper plumbing. Every construction crew probably has a guy that grabs all the copper instead of putting it into the dumpster.
THUB!! You're a pretty good mechanic, have you ever thought about fixing cars and flipping them as another revenue stream? ALSO the dope coyote air freshener would be a cherry on top for any car buyer just sayin.
I actually have fixed up and sold a car before but I did it for content, I wouldn’t want to do it on a regular basis (except for content 😉)
And that was in fact PlayStation’s favourite bandicoot!
Hey thub just found out about your channel and i love it and a fast and effective way to get the copper out of electric motors is getting a machete or flat metal like a sidewalk scraper and stick it in the middle of the metal and hit it with a hammer or smash on thr ground and the copper comes out really clean instead of using rotary hammer
That’s actually a really neat hack, I should test that out! It sounds like it would work better on smaller motors but I like it
@@thubprint I will give credit to where credit is due this video is how I found this hack ruclips.net/video/vOMhWIsxSzg/видео.html
Great video again! Good luck swapping engines, wiring sucks lol.
hope we get to see some of the fun and frustration of the engine swap
😆👍
Dude, that glove box is a cave 😮
Bests of luck to you
You need a basket on the front as well to counteract the weight thub
A bit of vid vulture bike style ayyyyyy 👍
