No coke here lad just pure,self-taught talent.Rory the humble Irish genius. Nobody better live, lucky to have seen him up close,so can vouch for how special a talent he was,and an even better person.RIP Rory . It's pronounced Gal a her
Awesome reaction to Rory! If you liked this, check out "Do You Read Me?" from the 1979 Rock Goes to College or "Tattoo'd Lady" at Rockpalast 1979. Both are awesome. Rory was self-taught and didn't use a lot of special effects-using his hands and guitar to create the sounds you hear. Rory played both electric and acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, electric sitar, harmonica and sax. His acoustic blues are just as awesome (Pistol Slapper Blues, Out on the Western Plain, Too Much Alcohol). Rory is admired by the likes of Slash, Brian May and Johnny Marr, and was once courted by the Rolling Stones to replace Mick Taylor. Please check out more of his work. Thanks.
My first rock show in '73, Rory opening for ZZ Top about 2 months before the Tres Hombres release. Blues Rock, Slide Guitar nut ever since... RIP Rory and Wilgar. Thank You! (keep rockin, Gerry!)
I think many progressive blues guitarists see Rory as the ultimate and you hear Rory riffs in a lot of music. He was a big influence on Brian May, Slash, and others, and I've heard him called the Father of Progressive Blues. Muddy Waters was his hero, and there are a number of Albert Collins collabs too. Gerry McAvoy (also Irish) is the bassist and had been with Rory over 20 years, after Rory quit Taste. I personally Gerry was highly underrated. There is a podcast with Gerry someplace where he talks a bit about life on the road. I was lucky enough to see Rory 3 times back in the day. This concert was done about the time he started getting very ill from mis-prescribed medications.
Ayyyy. Glad you liked the song brother, unlocked some nostalgic memories I see. The Irish accent made me laugh, I won't lie. On another note, you almost got the pronunciation correct! "Galla-her" and yeah you say Coola Boola the right way so it's all good! 🤘
The good recording is because Rockpalast Loreley was a TV recorded production from the german channel WDR. It was and still is a show with different acts. Over the years they produced a lot of legendary concerts. If you like funkrock too, search for Rockpalast Mother's Finest. One of the best concerts i ever watched.
One the hardest working guitar player pride of Ireland, it's a sin he's not the hall of fame, I say to the family he's to good , f em, same Johnny winters, Janet Jackson, please❤🎉
Another really good song by Rory and the band is Bullfrog Blues. It's a lot faster and rockin', haha. I think it would be another great react. 🤘 ruclips.net/video/3GvQ5gNKsQ4/видео.html

Yes bad. And PLEASE the g in the gh is silent, basterdized by the brits, 'gh' in irish is pronounced like a soft ck likr the end of lock.... Ps try bushmills a nice sharp whisky
An old vox 60 some kind of boost pedal and 1 other pedal never could figer out. As far as thumbs go both of mine first joint 90 degree easy maybe its an Irish thing.
If you’re a guitarist, learn about Rory. There is something missing in your musical education, but it’s good you’re looking at him here. Slap yourself alongside the head, there’s no cocaine or drugs here. Don’t spread that deduction because you are wrong. There’s no musical purist like the G-man, playing was his life. It’s “Gal-a-HER.’”
I come from Belfast and you need to leave Our Gerry alone. He loved playing with Rory and thats what you see here. If you're going to critique a band do some research first. You have basically insulted every rock/blues fan in Northern Ireland.
Insinuating Gerry was on coke is insulting for him and his fans. North Irish rock/blues fans are extremely loyal to bands who come from Northern or Southern Ireland. Gerry is just getting stuck into the music because he loves doing what he's doing not because hes on coke .
No cocaine involved with Rory’s band, strictly sober when playing. Gerry is a beast on the bass, only the best can keep up with Rory
I don't agree. I saw Rory with this same lineup in 1975. He was drunk as a skunk.
@@kimmomaki Yea I said Rory’s band, imagine being drunk and trying to keep up with him

Don’t beat yourself up too much man. If you recognise music and talent like Rory means you have an ear for music. Best of luck !
Rory for ever........
Best you will ever see, Never took sides during the troubles, No drugs all Drink and powerful playing, Nothing will lace his boots!
Rory Gallagher is completely self taught multi instrumentalist

RIP Ted McKenna too.

Just last week, I dug into the back of my music collection and ran across Mother's Finest again. Blew my mind yet again.
He played every dive Bar every state I loved him,R.i.P.
Hendrix, was asked how it felt to be the greatest guitar player, he said ask Rory Gallagher ❤❤😅😮😢🎉😂

Shocking that rag called the rolling stone barely had rory in the top 100
Hell yeah! 😎
He had a vibrato from the Gods. Brilliant guitarist but such a modest man. Very sadly missed.
Rory was from heaven
The Man, The Myth, The Legend.
The G Man Himself.
Gerry McAvoy and Band of Friends - watch out for him when he plays in your near ;)
I like it because I feel like it's live to step on the effect pedal🎸🦵🎸
Thank you for the reaction daRiff😊
I think the "doorhinge" was a bit of flange, treble boost and feedback.

Please show some respect, his name is pronounced Galla-her.
