I have a large collection, over 100 but still keep being drawn to this 12. The later versions are darker and more sherried. Great on point review. A terrific 12!
I want to start tasting Scotch whisky. I figure I will start out with this one and venture out from there. I am glad I can come here and other quality channels where I can get a true description of the products from somebody that is not trying to influence. It's saves us time and maybe bottles that we really wouldn't want. Thanks for the review.
Bought a bottle of this a couple years ago and went through it incredibly quickly. It's just delicious. Probably time to get another bottle before everyone else catches on!
I got Glenallachie in Scotland and have always had it on bar since. The 10,12,15 & 18 are only ones I have had and enjoy them all. The 10 yr CS and 18yr are fantastic but harder for me to find where I live. Fortunately the 12 & 15 are great pours.
I am kind of the same way Bill, love Glenallchie, but I loved it more when it was $40 and just for heck of it so do Deanston 12. It's definitely a must try and even definitely keep it on the shelf but the price nowadays is $60 plus, occasionally you can find it on sale for 55 here. Billy Walker does an amazing job no matter where he is. Thank you for the great review.
The 12 is great. Took a while to open up, but it’s one of my favorites. I have an unopened 15 that I’ve been staring at for a while. It apparently gets mixed reviews. You should do the 15 next. Great review!
I just finished off a bottle of this recently. You can tell I liked it, because it only lasted about 3 months. Sadly I either have to drive 2 hours to cross my state's border or buy this online and wait about 2 weeks for it to arrive. ABC board states suck! Regardless this was a fantastic whisky and I can't wait to get another bottle.
Stop. I love this whiskey and can easily get it. I always worry if people catch on to a good thing it'll disappear. It was also Ralphies wiskey of the year a few years ago
It’s $73 here Bill. That’s well overpriced (IMO). As you said, there are better options (certainly in the $70 price range). I can pick up Glendronach 12, Glengoyne 12, Glenmorangie 12, and even Bunnahabain 12 for less than $70.

Thanks Neal! Yea, I'm not surprised

Hey Uncle Larry! It's an old video, but if you're trying to get into Scotch then check out my beginner guide to scotch. It holds up

i have the 10 CS - one of my sherry favorites

What Sherry Scotch is better at $60?

Great review. I need to grab a bottle of this to add to the collection
You too
Bill, kindalike Smuckers (must taste good with a name like that). Really like the Glenallachie 12 year and the 10 year CS sherry bomb.

Nice review. What Sherry Scotch at $60 is better? The only one I can think of is Bunna 12. But the profile is different enough to stock both
It's funny, in the moment Bunna 12 came to mind, and I assumed I'd think of more
I have just started trying Scotch. So I definitely want to try this one but it’s about $85 around me. Appreciate the info
Look around a bit more. If you're in the US, you can probably get it delivered cheaper than that! Check drizly
I was curious about this one, but I was robbed. $80+ with inflation, but I am having a good time with it, so 🤷♂️ It really is delicious!
I'm glad you're enjoying it anyway!
I’ve really been looking forward to your review of this. Now to use this in a vs against Glendronach 12 🥃
Now that's a fun idea!
It can be the battle of the Billy Walker’s
We always pass on this one too! What other sherried Scotch close to the $60 price range do you think is better? Cheers!

I hear you. I always worry about revealing great whiskies like this

All those worse than Glenallechie 12 except the Bunna 12. And Bunna 12 is a different profile so I stock both
This one is too bold and not refined at all in my opinion. A full bottle can be too much. Thank you for the video.
