Nice review as always Sean! Just put the 50th flight on mine today and so far so good. The price point of this heli and the crash parts is unheard of! Loving it
No tail wag out the box! I'm building mine RN Sean K, and it's coming together well. I love how massive the rotor assembly is. And I love the tail design. All of it has zero.slop. only problem so far was my tail pulley tensioners had bad bearings but I got that taken care of with Patrick. I am going with same motor as you, Torq BLS0808 on cyclic and BLS0705M on tail. Ikon2 fbl and this sexy sleek new hobbywing 80amp ESC V5. Will be posting new videos on my build. One day I want to get an AK700 pro. I am digging Steam too!
@@Runk3lsmcdougal @Runk3lsmcdougal thanks. Well I bought everything off helidirect when it was on sale for 10% off. However that didn't include the kit itself as thoss don't go on sale when they are new. I also bought a massive amount of spare parts. So all in all it was close to 1K.
@@Runk3lsmcdougal I have a Goosky S1, S2, RS4 Venom, Align 470LM, this new Steam Kit that I'm building and also an Align TB40 in the box. Probably will sell a couple and get a larger one one day.
Hey Sean. I see a Steam motor now on your site for this for $65. Can you tell us anything about this motor? Have you or do you know anyone that has run it? Will parts be available for it? Must have just dropped as I can’t find anything on it.
Looks nice. I am what the hobby has lost; a sport flyer so I have been enjoying zipping around w/ my Goosky S1 and OMP M2 Evo. This looks nice but if I need another one, I feel the Goosky RS4 Venom would be my choice. You just can't beat that easy to use app and everything included in the box. That is the right formula.
Hi Sean, I believe there are two models from steam, the ak400 with direct drive and this 420 version. Which one would you recommend? Is direct drive better on the 400 better? And could the 400 be extended to 420 easily?
Just picked one of these kits up on Black Friday. Insane quality for the price!

Sooo glad you like it! It’s a new game changer
What else do you have to compare it to? I have an RS4, this kit is really intriguing at this price point
What motor and pinion gear would you recommend?

AWESOME! Glad Patrick got you squared away!
How much did everything set you back? Sounds like a great setup. What other helis do you have?

@@LichaelMewis thanks for the info, really curious how it compares to an rs4
No more like 900 after you get everything it needs to fly!!!
Hey Sean do you know the main gear ratio for this steam 420? Thank you

These are great questions, I’ve only dealt with this version
Please do a follow up on this kit!
Totally
Can you fit 2x 3S 2200 batts in series.
I would think so, it might be a little tight though
hello . love the channel .this looks like great value .
Thank you!
What rpm are you running
Not exactly sure as it is a new set up and was guessing, also had not set up telemetry yet
Ah darn I was hoping it was flybarless
It didn't have a flybar.
@@joshcook2681 could have sworn he said flybar! My mistake. Nice
Very nice design looks very good
Also love the HUGE tail pulley. Should equal no more tail belt slip!
Exactly!
This is a true 420.
Yea sir!
Very dope!!!
What made this video dope!?
ya very dope man LOL who talks like that
Doesn't this do 380mm and 420mm blades? Lets see a video with 380mm blades!
Yea it will fly with 380’s however I won’t be as stable
Stop saying 249 as that comes with nothing but blades
Still a good deal
Agree. There are 2 or 3 other options that would be kit only
249…😂
@@HelidirectRCI’ve looked at it but 475 with electronics or this for a recommendation on an entry 360-420 size I will recommend the align all day
@@HelidirectRCbahahaha $249 ??
