We were all excited when we saw this. Then boom. It was 30 hours away :( lol. But I got my first molt today!!!! So it's pretty exciting.

Not to be too critical but that light in there is way way way too bright, you’re going to blind him. A Regular 75-100 watt soft white incandescent household bulbs are the what you should use, warm enough to heat up the section of the enclosure but not bright enough to actually blind him. Your uvb light might be a little too intense and bright too, I’d wrap a piece of window screen around it to cut down on the brightness and intensity of the uvb rays, he’s a little guy and those lights are overkill and extremely close. When it comes to your hygrometers the little probe part will only measure the temps, if you want to know the humidity of a particular part of the tank you have to stick the main part there. You might also want to get some mesh to cover the front, using glass is asking for high temps/humidity and respiratory infection and leaving it wide open is asking for an escapee. Hope this helps
Agreed on the lights for sure, I hope he will change it before something goes wrong, because once they get one health problem it usually leads to a lot more over time :
Mari panthers can be pretty finicky and health problems will happen almost faster than you can react to them.
A normal household bulb is not good EX7Rud1con. He needs UV lights to.

That is SUCH a nice chameleon enclosure. Every chameleon enclosure should be as good as your setups. As someone who worked in a chain retail store, it tore my heart open to be forced to sell live animals again and again to people who refused to buy correct enclosures. That job took years off my life. Never again. Knowing that these poor animals are still allowed to be in tiny enclosures with people who dont care about humidity.... Even the store itself took shit care of the chameleons... sigh. I'm so upset now, I'm so glad people like you at least exist with super nice enclosures and who actually care!

I would take the wire to the heatsensor and put it on the wall and wire it to the wood. He could otherwise try to climb on it, qnd them the thermometre could fall down and also the chameleon

It is a nice looking animal a little skinny at the moment but that will be fine, the only thing you have to watch is the wire of the temp/hygro meter. It is outside the encloser and now the chameleon has a possibility to ascape there.

Chameleons are awesome but they poop alot. Make sure your cage allows for easy cleaning of all surfaces. I learned the hard way. Great stuff.

Chameleons can struggle to see and focus on things too close the their face as they have developed to focus on items further away so if the prey insect is too close they will most likely miss.
When I see their face (and mouth), I can't help but hear "Whatchoo talkin' 'bout Willis?"

Lovely panther chameleon but can i just point out 37c is far too hot for a panther chameleon given his size he would be on 28-29c and highest basking temp should be 32c at 1 year old I wouldn't even keep a Yemen chameleon at 37c

@@scatman9166 you would think that but chameleons are active basking animals and will sit for hours on end under a heat lamp they are also easily burned so a basking spot being so high will easily burn that cham and it won't be a easy fix either

@@scatman9166 Go look up the average temperatures of Madagascar most of the time it's 30c also remember it's a humid heat which makes it feel colder than a dry heat
Zombies LoveMe lower average temps don’t mean it doesn’t get hot though, where I live it averages in the twenties and can still get to 45 degrees in summer
