It's my favorite thing about him. He shows all the mistakes, big and small. It is a healthy reminder that even an experienced keeper can make mistakes.
I think adding more branches would make it an even better enclosure and adding more plants gradually overtime. Great enclosure though, and a really cool idea.
I'd recommend putting something to cover the floor like a cut up piece of plastic or something. I feel after time it will stain the floor pretty harshly. Looks dope though
@@TheHeadown news flash you don't have to be a tit to point that out.... i just said what it needs idiot ...i didn't say to superglue more plant on ffs
What a great idea. I never knew you could keep chameleons open air like that. You should find some big rocks and put them at the base of the plants to hide the pots a little. Keeping them in the pots is a good move, tho.
You should put a branch on the back wall above the door around 8ft, cover it in fake vines, and connect it to the chameleon home using a length of rope, so if he feels like really getting out the way, he can go up there to hide.
You are so industrious... Geez you never stop. Thumbs up. Awesome job Petko. I wish I had your energy... And your collection of tools would also help. Oh and your videos are never boring... I don't mind drilling and cutting.
13:00 those glass panels is a smart idea, to easily remove when needed, will be easy for cleaning. This is the best concept, I like the fact you can see the chameleon perfectly clear without a cage. Nice that you put a camera to see the chameleon.
Felix is awesome and a credit to you, i would worry about him not having enough hiding spots up high where the heat is, especially when he is shy anyway, maybe as the plants grow they will add more coverage. But great idea and it looks awesome, wish i was as handy 😊
This might not be for everyone, but I actually really enjoy watching you build things. I am guilty for not knowing the electrical wires and stuff, so you taught me something there! THANK YOU! I am one of those DIY people who just finds enjoyment watching people build things and talking about it through the process. So I hope you don't feel bad if that's all you are doing! Its ok! Thank you for going with the process! It was also really nice to see Mica again!
Don't forget drip trays for the plants, and you have to add extra coats of sealer to your grout, the tile will be ok but grout is porous without the extra sealer.
the time lapse was so good I loved seeing him in action! maybe some bendy vines across the tops of the branches would help him move side to side better
Maybe add ivy or pothos to the branches to give him something extra to climb on? They're really easy plants to grow and wrap around things so it might help give him something to cover the top branches and you can always cut it back if it gets to high, just a suggestion, the video was great
i dont know how i came to this video but i love it. OMG dude seems so genuine, and happy and place looks cool. good for you!!!! and holly molly it looks amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Omg that looks sweet!!😍😍 I saw a chameleon for the first time on thursday when I was in Oslo at a small reptile park there. It was so awesome!! I saw tarantulas, bearded dragons, Snakes, tokay gecko, turtles, tortoises, a little water monitor, poison dart frogs and I even got to hold a Snake for the very first time. It was so awesome!!!😍😍😍 I felt, and feel like when I tell people, like a kid, its was just awesome!
Box Rec they are!! And it was so funny when I saw him because he kept trying to hide while his eyes were poking out 😂 I got it on film and thought maybe I should put it up on my «channel»/profile here on RUclips.

If that's a DHP bulb it really helps to have some dark rocks under it to absorb and hold the heat. A basking platform would look great there, and I love the build!
Pond paint.... pond armor is one that's popular here across the pond in the U.S., but there are also alternatives like acrylic, silicone & rubber cement that can provide a good water proof shielding for your particle board (don't forget to coat any holes made in the board(s)). I love seeing DIY projects.
Suggestion from a previous Swedish Electricians, aka EU. It is a good rule of thumb to place your earth wire in-between Neutral and Phase. Just as a layer of safety, if anything happens. Your RCD, at least I hope your building has it. Will smack off. Alternatively, you can buy one for a socket, that has lower tolerance. 10mA instead of 30mA. It basically detects if the current takes another way, than it should. The next thing is, that LED 'panel' is of metal, aye? You might want to earth that. Just in case it for what ever reason gets current. Nobody can touch it and get a jolt. Switching current can ruin nerves, so it is not really just a 'harmless jolt'. It might not appear till 30-40 years later when the body degenerate. Anyhow, that is just my words on the topic. Bit of nitpicky, but Swedish Electrical practice is quite nitpicky in general.
I guess you never heard about russian electric practic, you need just roll all the wires together, cover one of it with isolation tape and other one can stay without it, you good. Earth wire? What is it? (just kidding from russian electrician xd)
I think the enclosure should have another ''tree'', and at least a couple horizontal perches. Right now the Chameleon, a big Chameleon, just has three lanes to go up and down with little cover and little horizontal compared to the previous enclosure.
In UK it’s strict too. I’m an electrician also. Although the fixture should be earthed, you may find because of the transformer that manufactures instructions state it’s class 2 double insulated and shouldn’t be earthed. But, exposed connector blocks aren’t allowed and single insulated exposed outside of fitting is also shit and not allowed here. I hate watching other people do electrical work thinking it’s easy and “it works!” . Yeah it may work but it’s not safe.

Hi. Felix's new home was very nice. Hope it won't fall or get hurt. The black t-shirt is from Maci Laci. Good choice !! It's a good video and I'm looking forward to the next one. Hi PS!
If you're making another particle board base with a hole, you should cover the edges of the hole and surrounding area with hot glue. It's cheap, water proof, and can be applied precisely even in small areas.
Looks great! As others have mentioned, I would add more cover for him near his heat spots. You want that to be his most comfortable place and to able to be there with the heat in cover should do the trick. I would also put something down on the floor like plastic or something so that moisture, etc, won't ruin/stain the floor over time. Plus it would make for easy cleanup if necessary.
Omg that new "enclosure" which isnt actually enclosed is AMAZING!!! WOW! very creative Petko and Felix clearly loves it. In other news my Dark Den tshirt arrived today (uk)! I shall be wearing it tomorrow lol, but also to uk northern inverts show. Cant wait x

Hi, Petko! It looks great, and hope Felix will enjoy his new enclosure. The only thing is that maybe it’s not the best idea to put the electricity cable of the enclosure’s lightning in the same “box” (black one on the wall, I don’t know the right English term of it) with the water tube of misting system by safety considerations.
Wow I had an idea to build something just like this like 15 years ago, but I was a kid and never made it happen. First time I’ve seen somebody actually do it. Looks great man props!

Edit: Also just wanted to say its really cool that you spend time building your enclosures, really shows workmanship, skill and dedication.
Love the fact that this guy also uploads all the mistakes he makes. Makes it seem so much more genuine. Great set up..!
Its crucial imho that keepers are open and honest about their mistakes or what they think they could improve so others can learn from them.
Another reason why I've subscribed
It's my favorite thing about him. He shows all the mistakes, big and small. It is a healthy reminder that even an experienced keeper can make mistakes.

Needs a lot more leaves for cover on many of the higher branches
I too was thinking that the plant should cover the higher levels. Will it grow into it?
It will continue to grow and fill in all the spaces
I think they are ...plants....they will grow! 🤣

Damn if I was an animal I would’ve wanted the dark den as my owner.
Who wouldn't?!

It always amaze me how creative you are. You really give your all for your animals' comfort and this is delightful to see. Keep it up !
Remember to repot plants once a year, as they use up the nutrients in their pots over time, they appreciate the attention as well.
Or just fertilise them.
Highly depends on the plants, ficus for example are plants that like to be fairly snug in the pot and don't like to be repotted so often.
The have three spike that add more then enough fertilizer for a large amount of plants
Periplaneta Missionary or add fertilizer, farmers done this for eons
You gonna have problem with water damage on the floor if you dont have anything that prevents the water from reaching the floor
Don't forget drip trays for the plants, and you have to add extra coats of sealer to your grout, the tile will be ok but grout is porous without the extra sealer.
