    From the developers of Warhammer 40,000: Gladius, ZEPHON is a post-apocalyptic 4X strategy game built on Proxy’s unique tactical combat system. Guide survivors through a turbulent future, navigating unexpected disasters, eldritch horror and cyberpunk monstrosities. What will you do to survive?
    🛒 Store link: store.steampowered.com/app/14...
    The first reason why you should try out the demo of ZEPHON is the fantastic turn based combat system that is the hallmark of the talented developers at Proxy Studios who created the Warhammer 40,000: Gladius title which has received nothing but glowing reviews for over five years.
    The second reason to play ZEPHON are the absolutely stunning maps and six different climate types. You will locate caches of rewards, capture outposts for buffs, find natural and artificial hazards along with special phenomena as well as natural enemies and hostile lifeforms.
    The third reason to enjoy this game is the city building and development. You start with a tech unit which has the ability to construct roads and cities. Once you pick a desirable tile you build your city and headquarters and start expanding. Tile by tile and turn by turn and spend many types of resources starting with the mundane like minerals, food and power to more exotic ones like chips or algae. New buildings are constructed here but they share the build queue with the city’s expansion and forest removal jobs.
    The fourth reason I want to give you for playing ZEPHON is the tech tree divided into 10 tiers which isn’t just about advancement through 150 different technologies but also about choosing a path to change. You might want to keep your humanity intact but you will lose access to many units and abilities the other two paths, Voice and Cyber will unlock for you. They are asymmetric but also not mutually exclusive and as they require different resources, mixing is more difficult but also more rewarding. Some tech unlocks new buildings and units, others bonuses to resource production and some give you totally new weapons to use by your units in battle.
    The fifth and final reason for playing is the wealth of choices which come up as you play both randomly and due to specific events. Here you are presented with potential choices who’s exact effects on your faction you won’t be able to see until you make a choice. They aren’t black and white or good and evil, they are just opportunities for you to pick and live with the consequences. It is entirely possible to pick an option which won’t have any effect, positive or negative.

    No question, kind of a re-skin of Gladius. I played so much Gladius (300+ hours), I got tired of it. Therefore Zephon could be a good thing for me, Gladius was a 10 out of 10. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I never heard of this.

    It's an interesting game, and I'll be keeping an eye on it, as it looks worthwhile. It's also very reminiscent of other titles like Endless Legend.

      Yeah, that is an apt comparison in game type but there are some important differences in how it is played and the way resources are collected and used.

      @@perafilozof I'm playing Humankind these days, and the new update comes out on the 11th. But there are still many imperfect elements of this game. There's really no game to play these days. I also played LOL until recently, but these days. I'm starting to play less and less games. I'm thinking about finding a new hobby. There are no proper games, they're all incomplete.

      Hi, already in the demo you can see 3 factions. Humans, the aliens and a sort of barbarian faction. In the demo you can play only with the Humans and you have only 2 out of the 8 possible leaders available.

    Looks like a Gladius. Nothing new.
    This is just a new colors and models?

    • @perafilozof
      @perafilozof  Год назад +5

      Hi, I am not sure calling a whole new IP with all the story, lore, factions, units, abilities, tech and everything lese can be called "new colors and models" unless you are trying to be offensive to the people who made this.
      There is plenty new, but you would first have to be ready to accept it. Which by the comment looks like you are not.

      @@perafilozof I think there are still at least parts of a valid question in there. The systems so far seem very similar to Gladius.
      By no means is Gladius a bad game of course, I quite like it and have played a couple hundred hours in it. But at least so far, this game doesn't look drastically different mechanically from Galdius. A different theme/IP can definitely go a long way to making similar games feel different, but it would be wrong to overlook it if they're almost mechanically identical too.

    • @perafilozof
      @perafilozof  Год назад

      Hi, and thank you for the comment. From my understanding, and fell free to correct me if I am worng, ZEPHON compared to Gladius lets you customize your playthrough with the Voice and Mechanical tech units and paths, has more tech options in general and has the events with choices for the players as well as bonuses or debuffs depending on the choices, and every unit upgrade is represented on the models.

      @@DuneManta Dont see why when a gameplay mechanic works even more made from the same developer not be used again ? If it works dont break it.

    • @DuneManta
      @DuneManta Год назад

      @@MagosDominusRevan Even if they don't change the core of the game, which I agree they shouldn't, it doesn't mean they still can't change things up. Take Civilization for example. At its heart it's very much the same game mechanically as it was when it first launched. But what they have done is make adjustments and introduce additional mechanics to their core. Same with the new God of War to Ragnarok. They're inherently the same game, but they made some adjustments and introduced new mechanics to help keep things fresh.
      At least so far from what I've seen, almost nothing has changed from Gladius. Which means it will still be good, but without much to set it apart aside from the theming.
