- Hi everyone! Welcome back (again LOL). I do feel like it has been 84 years, but as always, we all know what last year was like as teachers and honestly, humans in general. I love creating videos for you all and it gives me room to be creative + have some fun when I am not thinking about school, wedding planning, and 500 others things. I cannot believe it is time for school, I feel like I say this every year, but summer went by SO FAST. I really tried to take this summer to unplug, relax, and pour back into myself so I can feel strong and healthy and excited for my students this year. Classroom set up day one was for sure an adventure--have you ever locked your keys in your car before?! I am getting excited to be back though... the feelings never really fade. For old gross books you can do a project with the kids where they redecorate them by putting a collage on top. It reinforces the cover and they've put their mark on something in the classroom. 👍
I’m a first year teacher with middle schoolers and I got the same desk calendar!! It’s so cute! And this vlog definitely reminded me to buy a diffuser too lol!

Omg I have been WAITING for the back to school content! I would definitely love to see more classroom set up videos-specifically how to not compare and become overwhelmed by what other teachers are doing to decorate their rooms.
Hi Brianna! Protect your heart and mental health! I know it can be so hard not to compare, but as long as you make your classroom feel like a safe environment (which really comes from you as a human) your students will be so happy to be there.
Thus is two years late but as someone who is about to be in their 10th year and tried getting a pinterest classroom.... Simple but highly functional is so much better! Having less clutter helps focus everyone ❤

Thanks for the video! Lately I have been interested in gestalt psychology and dynamic symmetry for doing colored pencil art. I want to make art that has people appreciate the small things in life and have gratitude and morals. If you live near a 2nd and Charles I highly highly recommend going there for books! It’s a used and new book store but they also have every gift and gadget under the sun! Some books go as low as $1. I recommend it to everyone I can lol ! xx

I worked at a middle school where we weren't allowed to have scents in our classrooms for allergy reasons. :( Great video, you are inspiration for my own classroom set-up!

Hi School Bio teacher here, our first week back was awesome, a little nervous but most of our students ate vaccinated and still 90% of them were so good about still wearing masks!! Also what are those chunky white pens you had!!! I love pens/markers/ pencils!!! It’s a teacher thing 😊

Room scents are a must for middle school. My room right now is a train wreck. I have it about halfway set up and they are replacing my smartboard and all of that right now. :)
Same with my smart board, we will get it all together soon enough!

I have a video on my channel! I only think a mini fridge is worth it if there are things you need to put in there throughout the day. I like to eat a lot of fruit and vegetables and I want that to be in the fridge for whenever I need it!

It’s okay! The building is blocked off as a crime scene, it’s not attached to other buildings so the school can still operate.

@@fivefootoneteacher That something that does not get reported about. Just a chilling reminder of what happened. Trial should be pretty cut and dry. It is weird that I stumbled upon your channel a few years ago and you had to under go that trauma. I am high school teacher too.

Just letting you know…..once trial is over you can go and get your belongings! Either at the police department or the building. All items will be able to be retrieved. I’m a cop in Georgia and immediately after trial we release all items 😊
