- Hello beautiful humans! Another week, another video and today I am taking you into my classroom. At the beginning of this school year, I was very focused on moving what I needed in and preparing for virtual learning. Now that I am in the classroom and doing both, I have added some new elements like lights and even my first plant! One of my favorite things to hear is that my students feel safe and relaxed in my classroom--that is all I could ever ask for. At the end of the day, decor doesn't create a safe space, you do, but there are still so many ways to create a physical space that feels inspiring and as my students like to say, zen. Whenever I get to those “meh” teaching moods, I turn to videos like this. Your passion, enthusiasm and optimism are so contagious, and they remind me why I got into teaching in the first place. The thought that you put into cultivating a welcoming classroom environment even though it’s virtual now is very commendable. Ms. Brittany, This week was certainly a busy week for me in school and I did not have much free time. I love writing with all of my heart and it is a lovely passion bequeathed within me. I was a virtual student this week and I am rather enjoying the first semester of high school. I took a skills course in sixth grade and it was helpful. Your videos always manage to uplift me. I LOVE that you remember the Zoom kids. My cousin is in hs and says that her teachers often forget the kids who aren't there with them in person.
Hi Mrs Brittany, I am happy to see that your classroom is a nice setting and making it more roomy.
I really think you are doing a great job by making sure your students feel safe when they arrive and that takes dedication.
Also, I recently watched your Sunday self-care video a weeks ago and when you mentioned you have to take time for yourself and you put yourself last, I could definitely relate because I am usually an overly nice person who puts others above himself.
Now, I am working on doing things that bring me joy but, it is still a huge struggle just because I don't want to appear as being selfish or a jerk.

I NEED to know what kind of tea you drink. I swapped to tea because coffee was hurting my tummy and I just got tired of the taste. I am currently drinking earl grey’s black tea and adding honey and lemon juice! Also, interning is going great! I am just extremely tired and having days where I want to quit. Listening to you motivates me to keep going! 💙
I love some green tea with honey , and chai masala with some creamer is nice too.

For your degree was your concentration in writing, or is it better to choose a comp and rhetoric concentration. This is my second degree I also wanted to ask are there syllabus's for content, for the different middle school grade levels ? Are there any websites that have example syllabus? Im doing a career change and will maybe do an alternate program for teaching or a MAT program. Love your channel, you inspire me to teach.

that board that connects to the computer. I have one of those but can't get it to work, would love to know a link to a operating manual. I was about to throw it out as I thought it might be old tech, but its still be used so that tells me it could still work. hmmm that's positive. I would love a link to some help with getting mine going
Are you talking about the SMART Board? If so, its probably best to contact your school's/district's IT dept. for help. They should be familiar with the technology used by your school/district as well as how to set it up. I say this as a school computer tech. These SMART boards require a few different things. You will need a projector, a video connection from your computer to the projector, and a USB "B" cable that goes from the SMART board to the computer. SMART Technologies has manuals for their products; you just need to know the model number of your board.
