    Nice job! I think that creating forms is a good way to really think anout pedogogy and it forces one to think about their style in terms of what the “basic” techiniques are.

    Splendid form and excellent video, as always! It's as if Agnelli grabbed a feder and performed an excellent mix drill😁. You do look a lot like the current president of JUVENTUS my friend, I'm sure you must have been told. And since La Signora is off to a bad start this season HEMA is a very good way to overcome anger and stress. Thank you for that and cheers from Greece...

    Only now do I recognise the last part; it is in Marozzo's Spadone First Assault Part 5 or 6 which covers the sword grapple.

    • @FedericoMalagutti
      @FedericoMalagutti  11 месяцев назад

      It’s also a play of the sword in one hand of Fiore, which is to be intended as a “branch” of the Longsword in general. ;-)
      Marozzo, Vado and Fiore share maaaanu more things than what it may appear btw!

    Very cool. Is it possible to mix Meyer's square into this drill ?

    • @FedericoMalagutti
      @FedericoMalagutti  2 года назад +4

      Well, I would consider the two things conceptually different. One is a cutting drill to learn how cuts relate to each other in various ways, my one is more a selection of drills/actions. I prefer to keep things simple generally speaking, so I would say, just do one and then the other, you'll get the best from both ^_^

    • @eulenspiegel6689
      @eulenspiegel6689 2 года назад +1

      There are endless options to use Parts of the Meyersquare in this kata.
      For example every time you end up in plugguard or in ochsguard, you can cut parts of the meyersqaure. After ending up in plug or ochs again, you can continue with Federicos kata.
      The guards ochs and plug are reference points to start many different actions. This way you can develop your own kata.

    • @FedericoMalagutti
      @FedericoMalagutti  2 года назад +3

      @@eulenspiegel6689 absolutely, it is possible to create endless forms!
      I would suggest to use the form as it is otherwise, mainly because I studied it so that every action, couple of actions or even triad, actually works together in sparring, based on my experience of course!
      So before adding curry wurst to carbonara, try out carbonara by itself!

    • @eulenspiegel6689
      @eulenspiegel6689 2 года назад

      The question was, Is it possible to mix Meyer's square into this drill ? The answer to that question is yes, that‘s all i‘m saying. It’s a personal decision, if someone like to do this or not. Don‘t feel insulted by my comment, there is nothing wrong with your combination of movements.
      But it is important to understand the difference between a play and a kata.
      A play is ment to disable your opponent in a effective way.
      A kata on the other hand is aiming at a different goal. It‘s more about coordination. The idea of a kata is to control movemends in a concentrated way, to improve the communication between mind and body.
      So a kata doesn‘t need to make sense in a sparring situation in the first place. It could by of course, but it‘s not necessary. I could show you many Karate or Jiu Jitzu kata, which doesn‘t make sense in a fighting situation at all.
      This means you could add as many cuts or thrust as you like to. Of course you can leave it the way it is, or making it more challenging.
