Moving abroad has been such a rollercoaster of emotions, I’m sharing some real moments with you all lol from feeling homesick and crying to finding comfort in exploring Tokyo with my new flatmates. We went shopping, checked out the Bon Odori festival in Asakusa, tried an izakaya for the first time, and even recorded going to church. Slowly but surely, I’m finding my place here and meeting more amazing people around the dorm. 🫶🏽

You're doing amazing! The richness and fullness of life is often outside of our comfort one :)
Japan is a huge step. I'm sure you've worked hard to get there, so try not to worry about the past and enjoy every moment you have there because as you said, at the end of your year you'll think it went by really fast. Once you're gone you'll be gone and then you can enjoy being back home again.

I started out just like you and now I've been here 16 years. You'll need to be outgoing even if you're an introvert. Don't stay in your apartment. Go for a walk, always be around people, even if they're jerks. And most importantly, make Japanese friends!
