I have always liked It's Only Love. I remember when it was first released and my local radio station played it a few times and I kept waiting for them to play it again, but they just stopped playing it. It was a bummer.
The Doctor was the first album I heard by Cheap Trick, as a kid in the early 90's, it was among the handful of cassette tapes my Dad gave me. I was always fascinated by the artwork, one day I gave it a listen and thought it was great. I like Kiss Me Red too, I think it's a great catchy song, as are all the songs on the Doctor : )
everyone hated this record, i have a place in my heart for most cheap trick efforts i like this one . it makes lap of luxury sound all that much better ,
I don't hate the dr. It has it's place in Cheap Trick history, and these aren't the worst songs on the album. Kiss me red was forced upon the band by recording execs, and they really hated it, but who but Robin Zander could do it so much justice? He couldn't hit those notes today, but could do better with this than most any male singer in rock n roll today.
Half agree with you Danny. Some songs from The Doctor to Lap of Luxury are great Live, without studio arrangements. Concerning Kiss me Red, live or studio, it's always so....
I remember someone al ong time ago wearing a peasant dress that was me not you but who everit was he had dreamy eyes again on vaccation I was in high school days I didnt know him he just said hi and he asked me his name and yes I smiled and said denise. So peace and love and whatever is the best those dreamy brown eyes got me undressed so I left you alone and cried and slept and thought I died when I got back home and went to a weird and mystic place- called God help me and God said he did but dindt trust until one day I met a few otyhers and then there was my mother and yes at times she is right and at times my dad was wrong but I cried too until I found someone but was it you . Peace and Love to you too.
"It's Only Love" is a great underrated CT tune. I still wish I could hear this album without Tony Platt's awful production and mix. There are some good songs here but the mix makes it almost unlistenable.
Rick's been doing so much coke that his nose is causing him problems. The first sign is that he sniffs, visibly and audibly, at the beginning of It's Only Love and if you watch him on Kiss Me Red it's a little more obvious. Watch the interview from 1986 here on YT where he's showing off his guitars...he doesn't even care about hiding it. Then you can watch Aerosmith's You Gotta Move doc when he comes out of his dressing room talk to Brad Whitford where he does the same exact stuff.
Nick Vertucci yeah, I noticed that...they were in the grind of the living dead world of constant touring...energy was needed...I guess by any means necessary

Their label didn't care about them

I love the doctor album i say its my favorite and i can see why people said it sucked but i love it
Cheap Tricks most underrated album
His is so seductive and strong.
Sweet Mother of God Robin Zander is hot. He also has the best voice in the industry. Rick is cute too.
I know. I feel guilty saying he's sexy because he is talented.
Omg 😍 Robin is just one of the most beautiful men I’ve ever seen…hot as!

Is that Jon Brant with Phil Cristian on Keyboards?
Todd Howrath and Jon Brant
The two songs that they perform here are the ONLY songs that I liked on The Doctor.
'The Doctor' is a masterpiece in comparison to the two albums that followed ('Lap Of Luxury' and 'Busted').
Busted and Special One are the worst CT albums. The Doctor has about 6 good songs on it.
I've never found Special One all that appealing myself, although I do like "Scent of a Woman." I like 3 or 4 songs on Busted.
Disagree on Special One, four standout tracks that completely eclipse anything on Doctor, Lap or Busted
I'll give you special one but I'd replace busted with next position please.
No such thing as best or worst.
You like/dislike something.
Quit overvaluing your opinions

Flu, b'y. Don't be so foolish. Sniiif!
I can't take my eyes off that gorgeous Robin Zander long enough to see what Rick or anyone else is doing.
