@@clockworktime7195 Diana in season 4 yes, and Princess Anne in seasons 3 and 4, but I assumed this comment was about the original cast where I didn't see any resemblance in the vast majority of them. I disagree with you about the original Princess Margaret actress, Vanessa Kirby, I actually think she looks more like the Queen in the 1950s than Princess Margaret, certainly more then what Claire Foy does, who I think looks nothing like her, despite playing the part well, even though I also think she does more of the voice of the older Queen rather than the age of the Queen she's portraying.
Bill King During her life, after she shed her totally inadequate husband, she became a hero. Living in Athens during the war, she rescued a number of folks from the threat of death by the Nazis. She could do that because she was royally connected and was able to receive food parcels. She saved the lives of her neighborhoods children, feeding them from her food parcels. Philip can be an ass but, as one learns by looking at some of his blood relatives, he certainly is not stupid nor a coward, his nephews are accomplished historians. He might have made a good King, at some point.
I think young Queen was actually more attractive than the actress. Her smile was gorgeous😍. As a millennial kid I didn't know much about the Queen. Thanks to the Crown. Now we are all royal expert.😊
This Netflix series was very well done, well reproduced! They were very faithful to various details, movements and so on. I'm loving watching this series! Claire Foy acted very well as the queen. I really enjoyed seeing her work on The Crown! She is a great actress!
I’m impressed by the actor who did the impression of Nasser i have to say it, lots of productions they mess up the accents and sometimes the Arabic language. The show is incredible how they payed attention to the details . Loving it 👏🏻
I really love the portrayal of the actress for young Queen Elizabeth II, she's so effective and has a strong facial features which made her more powerful in looks. And her eyes speaks so well which brought the right emotions.
Claire Foy is amazing 😻 so sad, just 2 seasons for her 😿 I kinda stop watching season 3 because of new casting. I am so hooked with Claire's acting and beauty 💗
First problem: Philip's mother did NOT attend the wedding as a nun; she came dressed so to the Coronation. If the real wedding procession FROM the Abbey had been properly narrated, one would know that she appeared in a floor length suit, walking alongside the Queen Mary. And that is just the first mistake. I really loved the series because its point was not a re-creation but to be able to see round the corners of events.
Agreed. They got the core facts right and built around that. Sure, they knew that Phillip's mother wasn't dressed correctly, but they wanted to make her recognizable since many people know she was a nun but probably don't know that she was in a floor length suit for the wedding. They're trying to squash years of history into a few hours. If they didn't combine events and sensationalise some things people would complain that it's long and boring. If you want realism then watch a documentary.
I'm utterly obsessed Like literally, start at 4:11 - the most powerful scene. Just imagine! You're just in your in mid 20s... King Ed... PHILIP DURING THE CORONATION I CANNOT-
I have countless favorite moments in season 1, but one of my very top of the list favorites has to no doubt be the entire storyline of Churchill's portrait, with the anxious revealing of it at Churchill's 80th birthday audience in front of the majority of Parliament and Cabinet Party, including of course friends and family and associates and admirers alike.... I will admit I was growing frustratingly impatient and hopelessly disappointed when every scene containing the painting of Churchill's portrait in the making was purposely denying us a peak at it. At first I thought it was a major oversight by the shows Director, but then I felt silly when I realized the building intent behind its shrouded mystery. And that the brilliant banter between Churchill and the Painter was in NO WAY filler, but instead an absolute GENIUS way of revealing some of Churchill's most personal inner dialogue of tug of war that he battled with almost incessantly. In fact, the back and forth between them was I feel necessary to truly understand the man in the portrait once revealed. The comments of the portrait artist towards Churchill I think frightened Churchill, and the way in which Churchill responded showed that he knew he could no longer hide the man he has become; though masterful and demanding of respect, he had been denying the one awful truth all of mankind must face and come to terms with eventually, ready or not: that he is the only one who still believes himself to be the eligible youthful savior he once was. He knew the truth however, that he was feeble and tired, and feared that his facade to all peering in was cracking, but he was never 100% too certain that was indeed the case UNTIL the portrait artist revealed it so thru banter and by the very man he saw at that moment in time, and therefore painted that man as such. We could see that Churchill was worried when each time the artist would speak an ugly truth to Churchill, Churchill would reply in a way of self defense, not fly by confidence-but worry and replied almost as if he was trying to convince the artist otherwise. The revealing of the portrait was such an amazing moment. How factual was it I'd like to know? Is there actually footage of Churchill's disdain at the revealing? What happened to the artist? Did he go on to produce famed paintings? Or was his career over at that point? The part when Churchill was yelling at him back at Churchill's home was great! How he said it looked as if he was a sad creature trying to push a stool out. Hahaba Amazing!
My grandfather has a copy of Churchill´s portrait in his study. :) A maid we had when I was little used to think it was my great grandfather because my grandfather kind of looked like him.
I just hope that the new cast would be as good as the original. I would really miss them especially Matt Smith, Vanessa Kirby, Ben Miles and Claire Foy. Who did outstanding portrayal of the characters.
The best and finest series out there, full of history and vast perspectives. No wonder it ranked 2 for the most expensive TV series ever made. Congrats to The Crown ! 👑👏

They honestly chose one of the most accurate looking cast ever, like everyone has some similarities to the roles they are playing.
I'm sorry, but they didn't. Despite playing the parts well, none of them look anything like the people they are playing.
@@bpoleary1 non of them? That's not true lol
@@clockworktime7195 Well, maybe the actress playing Queen Mary does a little, and the actor playing Edward VIII looks quite like him when he was middle aged, but that's it. There's not a scrap of resemblance in the rest of them to the people they're playing.
@@bpoleary1 not Margaret? Diana? They were pretty spot on imo
In case you missed it, the nun was Prince Phillip's mother.
HRH Princess Alice yep
The coronation is my favourite ep, it always make me cry idk why.
Just finished Season 2. And now waiting for season 3! I'm obsessed with Royal Family 😍 Such a classy! Love from Indonesia.
It sounds weird with headphones, coz on the left ear you hear the series' audio, and on the right one you hear the actual thing.
I love it
The actor who plays Churchill is my favorite.
Thanks a lot for making this awesome comparison video! Love it so much!
i'm so hooked with The crown right now... i had no idea it was this good, 2 seasons in 4 days
These comparisons are amazing really well done
I think young Queen was actually more attractive than the actress. Her smile was gorgeous😍. As a millennial kid I didn't know much about the Queen. Thanks to the Crown. Now we are all royal expert.😊
I saw the title of this and thought "wow this is exactly what I was looking for". Thanks for making this video!
Queen Elizabeth was very beautiful as a young woman nice smile.
claire foy kinda looks sad in most scenes where the queen would have faked a big smile.
Luneland I’ve always thought that was genius!
But when claire smiled her smiles always seemed fake. I think Claire portrayed her coldness well
IRL, yes, but as the audience we need to see what's going on emotionally underneath the smile. Claire's performance (and the direction) was perfect
11:55 - "6 years ago" vs "8 years ago". Why would they change that?
right?
Im guessing to keep the years in the show consistent since the time of the events could have been changed in order to fit the storyline?
I don`t see any other reason for why they changed it as opposed to keeping it as it really was.
Could be an honest mistake
This Netflix series was very well done, well reproduced! They were very faithful to various details, movements and so on. I'm loving watching this series! Claire Foy acted very well as the queen. I really enjoyed seeing her work on The Crown! She is a great actress!
Is it just me or is the actor who plays the child version of Elizabeth so similar looking to the queen! They cast her so well - I think it's the eyes
LOL, one of the actresses playing the adult Elizabeth has brown eyes. They tried filming scenes with blue contacts but it didn't show up well on film.
@@largol33t1 Which one is that?
A biiiiiiig vote up! Thanks so much for such a wonderful complement
I think John Lithgow did a wonderful job portraying Winston Churchill.
COMPLETELY NAILED IT! Excellent work!!!
Thank you for your hard work in making this!
you welcome! :)
Thank you for making this. Love the series.
you welcome! :)
I’m impressed by the actor who did the impression of Nasser i have to say it, lots of productions they mess up the accents and sometimes the Arabic language. The show is incredible how they payed attention to the details . Loving it 👏🏻
What a brilliant video! I love this series and have been looking back at original footage but to have the two side by side is fantastic! Thank you xx
I really love the portrayal of the actress for young Queen Elizabeth II, she's so effective and has a strong facial features which made her more powerful in looks. And her eyes speaks so well which brought the right emotions.
I love the moments where they are delivering their speeches, one in each ear - somewhat unnerving in their momentary differences
The Queen: 🙂
The actress that plays The Queen: 😐
I absolutely love this programme I’m only two years into Netflix and this is hands down my favourite tv show
Claire Foy is amazing 😻 so sad, just 2 seasons for her 😿 I kinda stop watching season 3 because of new casting.
I am so hooked with Claire's acting and beauty 💗
You realy should watch it more, it's very interesting, and they were always planning on re-casting everyone, they do it every two seasons
How much the cast sounds like the actual people is wild lol. They really did an excellent job with their portrayals
First problem: Philip's mother did NOT attend the wedding as a nun; she came dressed so to the Coronation.
If the real wedding procession FROM the Abbey had been properly narrated, one would know that she appeared in a floor
length suit, walking alongside the Queen Mary.
This is very well done. It's especially cool through headphones, each side playing the different scenes/times.
wow the abdication speech is so impressive. the actor nailed it
I'm utterly obsessed
Like literally, start at 4:11 - the most powerful scene. Just imagine! You're just in your in mid 20s... King Ed... PHILIP DURING THE CORONATION I CANNOT-
claire foy absolutely NAILED it as the queen i cannot stress this enough
This is such a precise comparison. Excellent editing!
thanks! :)
16:45 Nasser was smiling IRL as apposed to the 1dimensional portrayal on the show
I have countless favorite moments in season 1, but one of my very top of the list favorites has to no doubt be the entire storyline of Churchill's portrait, with the anxious revealing of it at Churchill's 80th birthday audience in front of the majority of Parliament and Cabinet Party, including of course friends and family and associates and admirers alike....
Hahaba
Amazing!
Claire Foy played Queen Elizabeth so well I couldn't keep on watching the third season it was too much of a shock to me.
Olivia Coleman is an excellent, award winning actress. She was devastatingly good in the show Broadchurch. You're missing out.
Fantastic work with the editing, well done 👏🏻
I really like how there is a difference in listening when you wear headphoneso
My grandfather has a copy of Churchill´s portrait in his study. :) A maid we had when I was little used to think it was my great grandfather because my grandfather kind of looked like him.
I just hope that the new cast would be as good as the original. I would really miss them especially Matt Smith, Vanessa Kirby, Ben Miles and Claire Foy. Who did outstanding portrayal of the characters.
The best and finest series out there, full of history and vast perspectives. No wonder it ranked 2 for the most expensive TV series ever made. Congrats to The Crown ! 👑👏
Wonder about the locations of the Crown. They were made off??? They seem so real.
Digital set extensions.
Largely CGI
@@peterscottmorgan1 the CGI looked more realistic than the real ones.
That you very much dimitreze. This vid is what i wanted so bad with out even knowing it!
It is quite interesting how the show portrayed Churchill always grumpy and in dark colours, when in fact the footages show him being quite humorous and surrounded by happy people.
I wonder why they chose to picture him like that.
Okayyyy, I officially need to watch this show. Like yesterday.
I will never forget the emotion " God Save The Queen" bought
