    ive hunted with this machine for about 2 years now...it will find anything the more expensive units will and you can learn to weed out the nails and other junk pretty quick.i usually search in TONE but will flip over to All Metal to pinpoint a find,especially in dry soil. like i always say you can buy a more expensive machine but the folks using $4500 machines are digging up aluminum just like the rest of us are.

      That's what I figured. I got real old one looks like box lol. And I used stuff military and if lcd get hit by direct sunlight kiss good bye. Everything you don't want your digital anything in . I am also curious about emf how it may affect digital. I like the tone idea as eyes need not be as sharp. Having music background I been really noticing other things that happen with tones and gold..suck if your tone deaf lol

    I have the BH Pioneer 101 which is the same machine. I use the 4" gold nugget coil around trashy park areas, (tone mode) and it zeros in on the good targets easy. Great in tot lots, since there is no need to dig very deep. I also modified it a bit by turning the detector housing upside down , mounting it below the stem so I can now move the control knobs with my thumb as I hold it. Never need to reach over with other hand to make adjustments. Good and light machine. Great review HunterGT.👍

      They are hard to beat as a backup to toss in the trunk or whatever. Good to 5-6 inches and blazing fast recovery and separation capabilities. Great to pull over...test a site...then bring in your Patriot later if the Tracker says it's a go.

    Had mine for years. Mostly used in the U.K also took it beach hunting in south Africa. Great machine. Can't do better for the price. Found loads. Especially good for coins with almost full dial on sensitivity knob and about 3 o clock on discrimination. Switch on discrimination setting. Have fun! If there are coins this machine will find them.

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  5 лет назад +1

      Yeah, this machine is as deadly as can be down to the 6 inch level in dirt. Ultra-fast recovery speed. Disc circuit is really quite good on it.

    • @mathewwebb522
      @mathewwebb522 5 лет назад +1

      Hey buddy. It can detect a lot deeper on larger objects as can any detector though. I prefer to find things at a shallow depth rather than take a big shovel along and dig really deep! I don't like the big mess that comes with digging big holes. Bet deeper down has some good finds though. Battling to get permissions in the U.K. I'll keep trying.

    Just purchased my first metal detector. After watching many rave reviews I opted for the BH Tracker 1V. Assembled it, installed brand new batteries, read the manual and turned it on for air testing. Can't say I'm impressed. In tone mode with sensitivity all the way up and disc. set to 12:00 like the manual suggested it stopped picking up a dime at 2 inches. A canadian dollar ( looney ) at 2 1/4, a nickle at 2 1/2, a quarter at 3 inches. An aluminum pull tab made it to 5 in.. And this was through air. Maybe I just bought one of the few lemons they put out. Will be returning it for a refund

    Hello,
    My son is wanting a metal detector for his 11th birthday.. he is a treasure hunter at heart..lol
    I have a budget of $150 , and I have watched a few of your vids on the hunter Iv and the gold digger as cheap, decent analog detectors. I have found the discovery 3300 on amazon for $141 on sale at 60% off . My question is for him and myself having no knowledge of detecting would the discovery 3300 be a better purchase since its obviously a better machine? Again no experience..woundering about ease of use..overall quality.. long term usability... and overall value. If you could give some advice it would be most appreciated! Thanks!

    ive had the bounty hunter tracker 4 for a week now an i must say im really impressed with it i also own a garret ace 300i i like it but to be honest the tracker 4 beats the 300i hands down in my oppinion the reason why i think this is that the 300i has 3 different sounds depending on the meatal it detects a low grunt for iron a medium tone for gold and a high tone for silver but you can hardly get a consistant signall with it its alway jumping freom one sound to a nother and it does my head in theres many times ive had a good high signal then dug the plug and it turns to a low one and i get frustrated so i dont dig as many holes ias i would like but the bounty hunter has only one sound especially in all metal mode so whatever metal you go over it sounds the same and i dont get confused with is it iron or gold or silver i must say i have dug more holes with the tracker 4 yes i accept im digging lots of trash but ive dug more coins with it than the 300i

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  5 лет назад

      The bell tone on the Ace series have done many peoples heads in. You are not alone David. I run almost all my detectors in a 1 or 2 tone setup where available. I only use 3 or 4 tones if forced upon my by the menu settings...or performance gains make it worth it (like on the Anfibio). Tracker 4 is probably one of the most underrated detectors ever. Impossible to beat for the price.

My niece wants a detector and I found a Discovery 1000 sold under the Radio Shack name for $40.00 and it looks just like the Tracker IV. Sorry for late reply. 12 range on the disc knob in tone mode is what you will want. It will give a clear low tone for the nickels, a broken tone for pull-tabs, and high tone for the coins up the range. About as good as it gets.

    Do you know what depth you can get with the 11 inch coil ?

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  6 лет назад

      I don't sorry. It would need to be a 11DD that fits a F2 or F4. They never made them for the 6.6khz machine themselves.

      Metal detecting isn't a Tik Tok video.
      Be ready for old school patience and focus or give it a pass.
      Elon Musk will probably one day release a detecting drone that is app controlled and will land and dig for you but until then it is an investment in time.
